This was a brilliantly heart-warming novel.  Flockton had me captivated with her intriguing storyline and wonderful scenery.  Not only did I enjoy revisiting Emerald Springs, but I feel like I’ve been to Australia.    Flockton`s well laid out plot draws you in, both to the romance at hand and to the story of Emerald Springs in general.  The suspense in the series is really starting to ramp up with this instalment.  Tensions run high and emotions get away from you.  It all combines into a read that you won`t be able to put down (I devoured it in a couple of hours). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Daniel much better in this instalment.  He went from being the ‘brooding brother’ from the rest of the series to a very enjoyable character in his own right.  I couldn’t help but feel for and understand him.  And the female lead that he was paired with was the perfect counterpoint.  The contrast and similarities between these two well-developed characters really draws you in to their world and their lives.  I also enjoyed seeing their interactions with the rest of their families.  As a supporting cast they rounded out this lifelike novel very well. Overall, this is a must read novel for those who enjoy romance.  I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend it, or this new to me author, to anyone.   Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading DANIEL'S DECISION by talented author Nicole Flockton. It's the fourth of five books in the Emerald Springs Legacy continuity series and I have only also read the prequel, Trouble Brewing, not the rest of the series itself. Ms. Flockton smoothly includes enough character development of Daniel's brothers, family, and friends that I felt I knew them and I had no problem enjoying the story, even without reading the other books in the continuity yet. DANIEL'S DECISION is about Daniel Whitman, who is in charge of the family's resort hotel in Emerald Springs and the last of the three brothers to remain a bachelor. He has great fun teasing his brothers, especially Chad, for having fallen in love. He feels safe doing so since he is convinced he'll never be bitten by that bug. Daniel has plans to expand the services the family's resort offers in order to attract a more discriminating level of clients. He has heard great things about some innovative changes Kulang, a resort hotel in Australia, has made and decides to take a trip for research. The moment he arrives he meets Rochelle Harris and knows he'll do most anything to get to know her better while he's visiting Australia. Rochelle is the marketing manager at the Kulang and it is her ideas that have brought so much recent growth and success to the resort. She is a strong, ambitious and fiercely independent woman who is solely focused on her advancing in her career with no time for men. It's impossible not to admire her and root for her happiness and success, she came from a rough beginning and has made her accomplishments all on her own. She tried having a romantic relationship once before and it left her with nothing but a broken heart and a threat to her career advancement. The minute she sees Daniel she knows he'll be nothing but trouble for her and vows to avoid him. Daniel, the sworn bachelor, is almost immediately smitten with Rochelle, who as fate would have it tries every trick she can to avoid him. One, because she doesn't trust herself considering the intense attraction she feels for him and two, she knows he's from a competitive resort and believes he's there as a spy to smooth talk her out of trade secrets. Daniel although usually all about business is more interested in smooth talking Rochelle into his bed. The draw between these two is irresistible and the chemistry magnetic. It's a sweet story and so well told.  Rochelle doesn't make it easy for Daniel and there's a bit of a hiccup before they can work things out, but Ms. Flockton does in the end give us a glorious HEA. Thankfully so, because Daniel and Rochelle are perfect as a couple and their love story was a pleasure to read. 4 stars ~Complimentary copy received in exchange for a honest review.

The characters stay with you… 4.5 stars! Daniel’s Decision is book four in the multi-author series Emerald Springs Legacy. While it is a stand-alone story, it definitely whets your appetite for more of the Emerald Springs characters and stories. Flockton did a good job of weaving in secondary characters from the series in interesting ways, making the reader want to know more without a feeling of having missed something important. It was necessary to interrupt my reading of this several times, but I found myself hurrying to get back to the story each time. I read this story several weeks ago, but the story and the characters have stayed with me. At times I still find myself wondering about the characters and what they are doing. This usually doesn’t happen to me until I’ve read several books in a series. This is the only book in this series I have read so far, but the others are in my TBR waiting patiently. I was glad to see Flockton successfully avoided falling back on angst-filled characters with a lot of baggage when developing the hero and heroine. Instead, both characters are career-oriented and determined not to get involved with each other, making the fall that much harder. No, that’s not a spoiler—this is a romance, and by definition, there will a happy for now or happy ever after ending. This is not to say the characters don’t have baggage; they do. In fact, my first impression of the hero was not a favorable one until I recognized middle child “syndrome”, and once he was away from his family and focusing on his fact-finding trip, he quickly won me over. The main characters have good chemistry, and I would gladly take the hero if the heroine decided she didn’t want him. The “green” facets added to the story without being preachy, and the Australia spa resort setting for most of the story almost becomes a character itself. There was a touch of predictability in places, but I feel it added realism to the story and gave it the “possible fantasy” aspect that allows the reader to live vicariously through the characters. The story leaves the reader wondering about a series puzzle, and I am looking forward to seeing how it gets resolved in the next book. Entertaining, fast-paced, characters who stay with you, a touch of suspense, a dash of humor, and chemistry in a sensual heat level all add up to a story I enjoyed quite a bit and makes me want to read more in the series. Good job, Ms. Flockton, for keeping me thinking about your story several weeks after reading it. I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
