## The idea that a woman doesn't care that her fiance leaves at night to touch, kiss, hold, and pleasure other women (all in the name of healing of course) is ludicrous. She says it's OK and she'll be waiting for him when he's done! Say what? Not bloody likely. Absurd!

AWESOME read. A story of doubt and trust. When I first received this ARC I thought : Paranormal?? Jennifer Probst - hmmmm.... As I trust & love her writing, I read Dante's Fire - SO GLAD I DID - its FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!! Dante's Fire SIZZLES because its so HOT. I could not put it down! Dante is the ultimate hero, he has strengths and weaknesses. He sacrifices and protects on all levels. After Selina is attacked, her "safe world" crumbles. Dante/Daniel helps Selina pick up the pieces, find her way - to cope, overcome her fears. In turn Dante is rewarded as Selina helps him to confront & cope with his past. A HOT, emotional read that you do not want to miss. Keep on blazing new trails Jennifer Probst - wonderful read, can't wait for more to come.

Acceptance necessarily doesn’t mean resignation or defeat. It just means that we need to understand that sometimes things are just what they are and we need to find a way to walk through them. Awareness of a situation makes it easy for acceptance to find a home in mind and heart. It’s hard, it’s painful and it’s different being the recipient of a legacy that can be both a gift and a curse. Jennifer Probst’s new series, “Dark Blessings” is a different kind of series. Read with a naked mind and it opens endless possibilities of heroes who may be helping the weak in their own dark blessed ways. People who are gifted, yet are just human as you and me. Her first book in the series, “Dante’s Fire” introduces us to Dante Stark, born with a legacy that took the lives of loved ones, yet he has taught himself to control and use his gift with caution. Hiding under the mask of a mail guy, running his wealthy business empire within the shadows of his best friend, he lives the life of simplicity with all its complexity and in spades, with a heart of gold. Selena Rogers as the woman he loves from afar is just as elegant and classy. With a warm heart and an abundance of desire to help others, she is Dante’s reality and life. Two lonely souls, who spar with each other, everyday about Metallica, opera and financial news, find each other as they battle injuries physically and emotionally. From the very first page, the story was mesmerizing with its sweet narration of a man, trying to live a simple life, a life he had accepted with all its colors, and content with loving his girl from afar. There are no thrills, no frills or innumerable secondary characters that mar the story. But it’s deep with many layers to unravel Dante and Selena, rich in human emotions, endearing as these two really beautiful people come together, and the elegance of Jennifer’s writing. This was Dante’s dance of fire, as he rolls with the daily life, to overcome his insecurities and doubts, place his secret in the hands of the woman he loves, and manages to win her heart and soul. Dante’s Fire seduces with its simple and graceful narration of an intense story of patience, endurance, passion and love.

Are we ready for a new kind of hero? Left alone after the death of his parents, Dante is left to a life of a loner. " The women he involved himself with were alway brief companions meant to ease his isolation, with no expectations on either side. He had connected physically with many, intellectually with a few, and emotionally with none. Until Selina... " The attraction of course is mutual. Selina realizes he is not just what he seems. There is something more to this man that intrigues and draws her to him. Soon she will find out personally he is deeply committed to helping women in distress. This is another of Jennifer Probst's brilliant stories. What begins as a straight forward story of attraction, develops into an all consuming passion with extra ordinary obstacles. How do you build a relationship with a man who is destined to help women in distress while you are left alone? This brilliantly written story will seduce you into the darkness that is Dante's life. With Selina's brightness and need for love you can bet this plot will keep you emotionally involved.(less)

I have read all and I mean all of Jennifer Probst books. I love her work. She is just an amazing author. I got the privilege to read Dante's Fire. It was her very first paranormal. I thought she did a fantastic job. The intensity was there. From the moment Selina got hurt to the moment he gave in to her. Dante was what every woman wants. A protector. A sexy one at that. Who wouldn't want someone to be there watching over you. Wanting to protect you from the nightmares that haunt you every night. Someone who wants you period. Selina is a strong woman. Whom went through a tragic event that caused her to doubt her strength. But Dante helped her go through her pain and became strong again.

It is time for  a new type of hero.  I really enjoyed this novella. It was a take on a modern day superhero of sorts. Dante has a gift that allows him to mark men who attack  women and then helps to heal the women from the attack. He sometimes feels that it is more of a curse. He feels that he has to live his life alone because most women don't understand why he just disappears when he is called to help a women who is in trouble. Selina Rogers is different. He feels the connection with her right away but does not act on it. Instead he maintains a friendship with her  as the mail clerk in her office building. She knows him only as Daniel. Fate steps in and Selina needs Dante's gift. As Dante heals her they feel the attraction growing while at work she feels an attraction to  Daniel also. How will she react when she finds out the truth? Do they have a future? I definitely recommend this book.

Jennifer Probst has created a new type of hero... one for our time. As always her writing is riveting so I feel like I am right there experiencing the story as it occurs. This is a new genre for her and she is more than successful in what she set out to do. I am looking forward to the future stories as they unfold...... Bravo Jennifer and thank you.....keep on writing

When I first started reading Dante’s Fire, I wasn’t sure about it. I’m not much of a fan of paranormal romance but was I wrong. Dante’s Fire had me from the first pages. Dante Stark is a superhero of sorts leading two very different lives. He is a real estate tycoon who wants to stay hidden behind the scenes of the company he owns by working in the mailroom under the name of Daniel and as, Dante, the superhero he comes to the aide of women in trouble. Selina Rogers grew up in foster care and wants to make it big. She is an up and coming professional trying to make it in a male dominated company. One night she is attacked and Dante comes to her aide. He helps her get through the ordeal while his Daniel persona keeps close ties to her at the office. They both develop deep feelings for one another that bond them together. While heading up an important business deal, she is faced with a situation she is unsure how to handle. It comes to a head and Dante comes to her aide. Dante’s Fire kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. I can’t wait for the next installment. If you’re unsure of paranormal romance like I was, this book is for you. I highly recommend it. I would like to disclose that I received a copy of Dante’s Fire in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I have been a huge fan of Jennifer Probst for a long time. I love her writing style and story lines. I was really curious to see what Dane's Fire was going to be like because it was different from what she normally wrote. It was a really amazing book and I finished it in two days. I fell in love with her characters particularly Dante. What couldn't you love about him. He was the definition of man of mystery and you wanted to know everything about him. I loved how much Dante felt for Selina but kept himself at a distance. The book was amazingly written how it progressed and it grips you to keep reading on. Was gripping my device tightly at moments worrying what would happen next. Dante"s Fire is a must read and I highly recommend it! I received an ARC for an honest review.

This step into paranormal was bold. I think you hit the mark. Dante's loneliness called to me. I loved Selina...I loved her confidence and drive. The only thing that I didn't care for was given her background I just wanted her to be a little more kick ass. Over all though I loved the book and can't wait til the rest in the series

Dante Stark is a new type of superhero. When his mother was murdered, he came into his power. Now he has the ability to help women who are victims of sexual attacks heal and regain control of their life. His mark on the attackers stop them from harming others. During the day he works incognito in the mail room of the company he owns. There Dante meets Selina Rogers and is attracted to her, but he knows their will be no HEA for him. That is until he protects her from a violent attack and becomes her savior. He wants so much more. Does he dare take a chance? Dante and Selina are strong and compelling characters. Dante is a caring and tender man who wants to stop evil and protect the vulnerable. Selina will not be a victim. She's resilient and with Dante's help will recover. When she was assaulted, I got cold chills. The scene was so vivid and powerful that it took my breath away. Jennifer Probst's writing continues to grow as she tries a new genre. Dante's Fire is an amazing book. I'm so glad that this is the start of a new series.

WOW! I wasn't sure what to expect from DANTE'S FIRE and certainly wasn't expecting it to have such an immediate connection to the main character, Dante Stark. I seriously felt his loneliness, his seclusion, his despair, and his yearning for more. Jennifer Probst easily pulls me into the emotion of her characters and her stories with every book I've read of hers, so I'm not sure why I thought this might be different. Maybe because it's different than any of the other books I've read from her. Dante's Fire has a paranormal or supernatural aspect to it that is new from her. I loved it! I also think the fact that the format was an audiobook made a huge difference in how much I connected to the story. The experience of having someone reading to you with the inflections of a professional speaker/reader really does increase the enjoyment of the story. Dante was orphaned at a young age and raised by an aunt after watching his mother be murdered at the hands of a gang of men. He has inherited the gift of healing and the use of the element of fire. Specifically he is literally "called" to the side of women when they are being assaulted to protect them and then to help them heal from the experience. Because of these abilities and the immediacy he has not been able to maintain a relationship aside from one with his friend, Chase. The only other person who is aware of his abilities and the problems they create. The only person Dante trusts and this leaves him with a very lonely life. Dante may be a millionaire, but he must hide even that in order to keep up the secrecy of his gifts. His companies are outwardly ran by Chase as the CEO and face of the company, while Dante remains the named but not seen owner and takes a job at the core of the company. In his chosen role as mailroom worker, he is able to interact with and keep an eye on his employees. This is how he gets to know and fall in love with Selina Rogers. She is ambitious and determined to move up in the company from team leader through making the difficult and most profitable property acquisitions. As a woman in a male dominated field she has learned to be tough and blend well with her male coworkers, earning her a high level of respect by all. Selina comes to look forward to her daily interactions with the obviously astute and intelligent Dante and finds herself attracted to the man she knows as Dan or Daniel despite his lower level position with the company. She grows to respect and value him, having a hard time ignoring the carnal feelings she has when around him. Dante too is drawn to Selina, but his history of failed relationships causes him to keep his distance. To keep it platonic, despite the fiercely erotic feelings she stirs in him. As the synopsis says, Selina is attacked, and a masked Dante comes to her rescue. And as he is compelled to do, he helps her to heal past the pain and fear, just as he has done for countless other women. Selena finds herself drawn to her hero, to the comfort he offers, and to the sense of safety he provides. In their time together, both at work (as Daniel) and at night when Dante is masked they become close and fall for each other. Their emotional ties are powerful and beautifully written by Ms. Probst. I must also say, although Dante must spend time in a closed setting with all the victims he rescues, and it is in a way intimate, it is not sexual, there is no cheating. I don't want to say much more, other than this was a beautiful and very touching story. Not long, just enough to thoroughly develop and establish the relationship between Selina and Dante. It leaves no doubt they have their HEA and is not a cliffhanger. Also, as it is the introduction to a new series it was the perfect length to leave me wanting more, eager to meet the other men/women with gifts similar to Dante's. 5 stars ~Complimentary audiobook received in exchange for a honest review~

What a fun departure from Jennifer Probst's standard fare. This is a wonderfully sweet romance with a twist of light paranormal. Dante is a superhero with a huge heart and has a strong desire to have more in his life. The objection of his desire, Selena Rodgers, has no idea who or what he is but is drawn to him. When circumstances bring Selena and Dante's superhero persona together, both their lives are changed forever. This is a wonderful story that I recommend to everyone.

Dante’s Fire is an interesting mix of romance, superhero and paranormal.  Dante has a secret and powers that let him help women in need.  He just never expected to have to use them to save the woman he secretly has feelings for.  It’s quite a complication for him, having her not know the true identity of the man who saved her life and who is helping her recover.  Selina wants to know all the secrets about her savior.  But the more time she spends with him the more she realizes that he needs someone to save him as well.  Hot, sexy and emotional, Probst brings her trademark style to a new arena with the first in her new paranormal romance series.  Different from her normal stories, I don’t think that her readers are going to mind at all.  She still delivers interesting characters and an enthralling story, she just also has that little something extra. And I'm ready to find out what she has in store for us next.  (Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review)

~Reviewed by ANGELA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog This novel is Ms. Probst’s debut to Paranormal Romance and for her first PNR novel, she did well. I’ve always enjoyed her writing, and that has not changed. Probst brings in her trademark of hot, sweet and romantic to Dante’s Fire now adding a paranormal twist into the mix. Dante is equally gifted with supernatural powers to save women from traumatic events. He saves them from being attacked and helps them heal and deal with the aftermath. Unfortunately, his current charge is harder to care for than usual. Not only that he knows her, he had always had feelings for her. Against his better judgment, he will fall in love with Selina, and if she doesn’t accept who he is, this relationship is doomed before it even starts. Honesty and acceptance will be their biggest challenge. I enjoyed Dante’s Fire, and I love Dante even more than the story. I was intrigued by the double life he lived and was very impressed with the decisions he made in his life. Of course, it helps that he is rich, big, strong, and very sexy. Selina is one lucky b*tch. She is not my favorite, but I liked her well enough. She is a success driven woman but always stayed grounded. I like that a lot about her. I respect her even more with her acceptance of Dante’s secret job. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll be okay with sharing him with the world. I know that sounds selfish and jealous but with a man like Dante, I would want him all to myself. The Paranormal bit was light and story was a bit short for my liking but I thought the romance, heat factor and the PNR bit of the story was a good blend. I think Ms. Probst still has a lot of kinks to iron out but for the most part, she’s done well. I’m curious to what she has up her sleeve for the next novel. *ARC provided by author

Sinfully dark and delicious.  I loved every angsty moment.  For those of you that have read Jennifer's books, there is always a little bit of magic in the background so it really did not surprise me that she would take a dip into the paranormal romance genre.  I am really glad she did because this novella is not only an excellent read, but it is very different from other paranormal romances. The storyline is very original and Dante's secret powers are not like any that I have ever read about before.  If you want something new and unique to read this weekend, this is it.   Dante is forced to hide in the shadows day and night because of who he is.  Jennifer does a nice spin on Superman's Clark Kent as Dante works in the mail room at Stark Enterprises which he owns as Daniel Stark.  He has been smitten with Selina Rogers for years but has never let himself think about exploring more because of who he is.  She is kind, generous, and self-less and is a bit of a loner like himself.  She keeps to herself and no one really knows anything about her family or where she came from.  She is quite the mystery to him. Selina is focused on her career.  She has worked really hard to get where she is and needed to focus on her goals so she kept people away.  She did not want any distractions.  The sexy man who delivers her mail has her all tied up in knots.  Daniel knows her better than anyone else and over the past few years they have become good friends.  But seriously, a rendezvous with the mail boy would jeopardize her standing and she has worked to hard to get where she is so she can only admire from afar.   Until.. One night when Selina is attacked and Dante comes to her rescue. He looks familiar but not.  Once Dante gains Selina's trust can he reveal who he really is or will it ruin everything he has tried to make right.

Dante has been both blessed and cursed with his superhuman abilities since he was a young boy. He has honed his skill over time in order to help those in need. However, it leaves him to live a very lonely life. He has found it impossible to maintain a relationship so he just stops trying. Masquerading as a low level employee in his own company, Dante finds that he has silently fallen in love with an executive. He plans on keeping his feelings to himself until everything changes the night she is the one who needs his help. Selina has worked up from absolutely nothing to the top of the New York City property world. Determined to have a successful career, she has little time or desire for romance. She may be attracted to her very handsome coworker, but that is all it can ever be - attraction. It's not until she is in desperate need of saving that she realizes how truly lonely she is. Now she must reconcile the feelings she has for both her nighttime savior and daytime flirt. And what will happen when Selina finds out the truth about who Dante really is? Paranormal romance is not something I am used to seeing from Jennifer Probst and I am still fairly new to the genre myself. So I was a tad bit nervous going in. Which was totally unwarranted because this was fantastic. I really liked Dante a lot. There are the obvious reasons being that he is quite sexy and all, but also because I found his gift intriguing. I didn't fully understand his abilities at first, but they are explained as the story unfolds and what he does just made me respect him even more. Plus there is a sadness to him because he feels he can't be with the one he loves and it made we want to just hold this tough, yummy man in my arms. Selina has fought her way to the top in a male dominated profession and she has a take no prisoners attitude. Seeing her broken was heart wrenching for me. But the beautiful part was watching as Dante slowly helped her pick up those pieces and build her confidence again. Jennifer Probst is a go to author for me because I know without a doubt that I will enjoy everything that she writes. Dante's Fire made me cry and made me smile and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

A surprise paranormal read....Dante was born with a gift that lately he felt like a curse because of his inability to love the woman he loved due to his gift to help woman who have been raped. Dante's gift came out when he witnessed the horrible rape and murder of his mother. I will say when I started this I was not sure how I was going to feel about it because I am not into the "Paranormal" type books but Jennifer drew me in from the beginning and I could not put it down. When Selena was attacked and Dante had to help heal her while secretly loving her was very moving. His relationship with Chase due to his sisters attack and him knowing Dante's secret was a great combination. Chase kept pushing Dante to tell Selena but Dante was nervous she would run after all in his mind who could put up with what he had to do....I am glad he finally listened to Chase and took the leap. I love the ending where he finds "family" and I look forward to the next installment.

I think Jennifer Probst really has created an incredible new series, starting with "Dante's Fire".  I always am pleased when an author pulls me in to the story right away. This novella is an incredible example of just that. I could not put this book down.

Dante’s Fire was better and shorter than I expected. You don’t always see interesting Adult paranormal books this good. I was engrossed in the book and totally surprised to see 77% of the book had been read. Dante is a ‘modern day superhero’ who has to hide his identity when he saves women from rapists. He sticks around to help the women transition into a normal routine. I would have liked to see more of this – his job because it doesn’t end when he saves women from attackers but he also stays behind to get them re-accustomed to a man’s presence. It seems like an intimate, or at least, a very personal thing to do and I can’t believe he’s never gotten attached to the women he rescued and spent time in bed with. Then he meets Selina. His job doesn’t allow him to earn the trust of the women he cares about but he can’t ignore his feelings for her anymore. After two years of posing as a mailroom courier at the heroine’s work place (not as a stalker, he has his own reasons) he knows Selina better than anyone else. She’s a strong, independent woman but the moment Selina becomes another one of his ‘clients’ he can’t ignore his emotions anymore. They are comfortable around each other and she trusts him to be faithful to her. Their relationship progresses quickly, but not before they spent a good chunk of the book debating their feelings. I loved the dual POV. I loved the fighting-for-what-you-want. It was a good read and I recommend it with 4 stars to anyone who’s looking for a fast-paced sweet read.

Dante Stark, CEO of Inferno Enterprises, has a secret only one person knows: his best friend and business partner, Chase King. Dante works in the mail room because that’s where he can hide behind the face of Daniel, and still watch Selina Rogers, with whom he has been secretly in love for 2 years. They are work friends but since Selena is a serious businesswoman on her way up, she keeps it light. One evening after coming back home alone, Selina is attacked and beaten up by thugs. A man all wearing a mask and dressed in black rescues her and very strange things happen, unbelievable things. But her knight in black armor brings her back home and takes care of her. What Selina doesn’t realise is that the two men in her life are one and the same. Trust Jennifer Probst to come out of her comfort zone with a vengeance! Dante’s Fire is a paranormal romance, and it is fantastic! The genius of Ms. Probst shines through here again; it’s quite different but there are still wonderful characters of both sexes, a great story, clever dialogue, a great love story; and of course, it’s splendidly written! What joy it is to see a character such as Dante: an alpha male, but tender, poised, and who even has a male friend, and a genuine friendship as well; that’s quite unusual in romances. Selina, even enduring some hardships remains cool-headed, logical; she doesn’t turn wimpy and whiny. The concept is very clever and original. I was very much looking forward to Dante’s Fire and it turned out even better than expected. It seems to be the beginning of a new series, and that is fabulous news indeed! A wonderful not-to-be-missed read! Could Jennifer Probst aspire to a paranormal crown? Stay tuned!

A new genre for one of my favorite authors--and a hero of a whole different kind. Not only does Dante mysteriously arrive in a time of need, rescuing a female from her attackers, but marks the villains in a way that unables them from harming a female again. Then he stays, watching over them, helping them to heal and trust again.  This is an emotional story of pain and healing for both the hero and heroine, cloaked identities and love. And oh, the love! Scorching hot. If you're looking for a quick, can't put it down read, this book's for you!

A heartfelt and sexy romance! I loved Dante and Selina's story. Both are strong and intelligent but are vulnerable from their past. Their chemistry jumped off the page and I loved how they learned how to open their hearts to love. I am excited that there will be more stories in this series!
