Overview

Even though it was more metal-oriented than Danzig 4, Blackacidevil fell through the cracks upon its late 1996 release. Producer Bill Kennedy gives Danzig a harder, edgier sound than before, but the group has trouble coming up with hooks, which makes Glenn Danzig's standard demonic lyrics a little tedious to anyone but hardcore fans. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
