**** Nominated Best Mystery Romance in the 2014 Indie Romance Con-vention Awards **** There's more than one secret in the old Blackmoore house. Some have been buried for a long time and some are sitting closer to the surface. Morgan and Fiona Blackmoore enjoy their simple life in the sleepy ocean-side town of Noquitt Maine where they offer herbal remedies and crystal healing for locals and tourists alike. ...Until Morgan is accused of killing the town shrew, Prudence Littlefield. Suddenly the girls find themselves scrambling to find the real killer while they battle a crooked Sheriff, planted evidence, and a long list of sus-pects that all had a reason to want Prudence dead. Handsome Jake Cooper is new to the Noquitt Maine police force, which is exactly why Fiona Blackmoore doesn't trust him. But with time running out and the evidence against her sister piling up, Fiona has to make a choice - will she trust Jake with her sisters case ... and her own heart? Add in an old mansion on the cliffs of Maine, an attic full of mysterious treasures, and a cat that has the uncanny ability to show up at exactly the right time and Fiona has her hands full proving the Sheriff's accusa-tions about her sister being a murderer are Dead Wrong.

I absolutely love the Blackmoore sisters books. It is so refreshing to read really good books that are clean! I can't stand to pick up any book that the author has to resort to using filthy language and graphic sex to sell a storyline. The Blackmoore sisters mysteries are wonderful! Love them and can't wait for the next one.

This is a fast cozy mystery. Very clean. The is very mild murder and violence details. This book has some gentle humor. Chick lit. There may a very light touch of the paranormal. This series of books is enjoyable and would be suitable for ages 16 and up. Grannies will enjoy them also. AD

I was surprised - with all the positive reviews, I was expecting a well-written book. Cute plot idea, not great execution. This read almost like a High School creative writing essay. I stuck with it, to see how the author would tie things up, only to find you have to buy the next in the series. I'm not sure who the intended audience is, the writing style is too childish for adults, but too much sexual tension for anyone under 18. 125 pages, some swearing, no gore.

I really enjoyed this book and am reading the rest of the series. It has a little bit of everything, murder, mystery, romance, treasure with a touch of magic.

This book was a very quick read. However, it was really good and I enjoyed the characters. I hope that in later books there is more back story etc with the sisters.

This short book was awful. The plot was boring, and the mystery was easy to solve almost from the very start. The police work was so incredibly incompetent and totally unrealistic, it was pathetic. The characters were poorly developed, as was the supposed romance. I felt absolutely no sense of connection between the two characters, and the primary indication of any attraction was her overly active stomach sensations. I highly recommend skipping this one. JB

I really enjoyed this book, I love the mix of the personalities of the sisters. I enjoyed the hint of paranormal, the humor and of course the cat that appears at helpful times. The mystery was good and kept me guessing. I will definitely move on to the next in this series.

This is a very enjoyable book. It's rather light hearted. The characters are quirky and the clues are very interesting. I like that it can be read by a younger and older audience,  and be enjoyed by both. It has a nice touch of romance and a little paranomal. Overall, I recommend it for a little light reading.

I have read another one of her books. I also wanted to start reading a small series, with under 130 pages it was a great read-excited to read the rest of the series. She is a clean writer, with great plots. I really enjoyed the book.

This one needs a lot more development to be worthy of reading. There is a quick formulaic outlines of the four sisters, villains and town members, but not enough detail to warm up to any of them. Writing style feels like high school story project. It's a sad situation when the cat is the best character in the story. Minimal romance - eventually leading to a single tongued kiss. This needs a lot more descriptive detail to get a realistic feel for the supposed Maine woods setting. What at first seems like a Victorian cottage overlooking the ocean, becomes a 24 room mansion on prime real estate, but still walking distance from town. There is one scene eating clams, and a dialogue with a fisherman, but otherwise this could be set anywhere. The "mystery" has the sisters following clues then notifying the police. Lots of unresolved issues get dropped in as one liners without any resolution - What happened to their mom? What about the dad? Why did the victim have a feud with their family? What's the reason the Sheriff jumps to conclusions? What is the connection between the sheriff and Eli? What drives Jake to the small town after losing his partner, and how does that impact the way he views the clues? Why was Morgan's heart was broken when her high school sweetheart went off to war, and why should we care that maybe she thinks she sees him at the end of the story? How does wild child Jolene turn out to have computer forensic skills that maybe helped solve the crime? About half way through we learn that Fiona has an ex who is the cause of her trust issues. Except for the opening scene, the dialogue feels flat. This one had potential, but really needed a LOT more development, rewrite and polish before posting.

I was encouraged by the high ratings and the "free". Wrong. The plot is all over the place. The junk/treasure in the attic that no one bothers to inventory, the semi-attraction that never really gets there, the murder that was too simple clean and cliche. I need authors to stop with the quick snippet stories and go back to the art of writing. Write a plot, develop characters, set the tone, give some back ground.... Don't just drop random statements that lead me to believe there will be more.... My mother's murder.... If you are sitting in an airport and need something to tide you over, maybe. If you are curled up with your favorite cup of herbal tea, a nice quilt, and burning a candle, this will not do.

Glad it was free. Rather...boring and kind of high school-ish plot and characters

Do not like getting just part of the book and then having to buy the rest of it. When I ordered it it said it was free.
