The Divinities are special types of witches , Demi Godess with special powers. They fight evil and their newest battle was to fight demons that were endangering humans. Khloe was the type to just jump in and ask questions later. This has caused Chloe some problems before. This time Khloe jumps in to save her twin sister and she finds out he has a personal death demon guardian - Jagger-. This is the first time Jagger has exposed himself to Khloe even though he has guarded her for awhile. Then Jagger and Khloe discover they are fated mates. Khloe regrets this fated mate thing even though Jagger is on the side of of Hecate.Jagger had been raised by Hecate and was half demon and was very strong. Hecate is the Goddess of Witchcraft. Jagger was not suppose to interact with Khloe but it was the only way he could help Khloe. Khloe is great with a computer she is actually a tech whiz and a very strong witch. Deons have captured a couple of witches and have new ways to torture witches to get information out of them. Then the demons kidnap some kids that were under the custody of the witch’s custody. Demons killed Khloe’s parents two years ago and Khloe stepped up to join in fighting the war. Khloe was slow to want another relationship after her ex - Mark rejected her for what she was. Jagger was also leery of another mate after losing his first mate and daughter. I loved this story it had a great plot and it keeps you glued to the book wondering what is going to happen next. I laughed out loud several times and that is always good. It does help if you read the first book series first. This story has: danger, action, witches, demons, adventure, divine beings, love, family, magic, fighting, evil, loyalty, suspense, kidnapped children, and so much more. What more could you want? I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

Death’s Storm is book two in The Divinities series by Lia Davis. The books are best read in order, since their is an over all story plot that continues from each book and we are leading up to a very big battle or something big. I enjoyed Death's Storm and found my self pulled in by the pacing of the story and Jagger. We get plenty of action that keeps you going and things progress nicely in the plot and character development. I was pleasantly surprised with how many surprises we got and I didn’t see or expected a few of them. It all added up to an entertaining read. Jagger is an interesting character. I liked him a lot and would love to explore more on ‘Death Demons’ and his brother. The things we learn about Jagger and Khloe, WOW. I loved. As for Jagger he’s a character that is very powerful and everyone fears, so he lives a solitary life sorta ‘in between’ the good and bad guys. Khloe she dives in head first before thinking, goes in half cocked, and it feels like she craves adrenaline. Her behavior is explained and now I can see why she did the things she does. Their relationship was fun to watch it progress. There's so much sexual tension and lots of fun banter; between them. I also liked that Jagger didn't necessarily try to control the independent Khloe. He respected her space, even though it was aggravating, but he found a way around it by working with her and joining in the mission. I liked Jagger and Khloe as a couple. They suited each other. We are also treated to previous characters as well as a few new divinities show up and come into play. All and all I had an delightful time reading Death's Storm. I'm curious to continue the series and see how everything plays out. There's more going on then we see. Rating: 4.5/5 I had thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and was lucky enough to be able to obtain a copy of this, the second in series, a few days later (today - and yes, I couldn't wait to read it!) The series concerns the Divinities who are a special type of witch, demi-goddesses with unique powers. Their task is to fight evil and the demons currently endangering humanity. In this story on of the Divinity, Khole Bradenton is the highly independent, very powerful twin and a really jump in ask questions later type of person. This attitude has had consequences in the past, some good and others negative. This time, however, she jumps in to save her twin sister from demons and finds out she has her own personal Death Demon guardian, Jagger. He’s been guarding her for a while but this is the first time he’s shown himself - and it is also the time when they both discover they are fated mates! This is definitely something that Khloe rejects, she doesn’t want any male telling her what to do and certainly not a demon, even if they are on the side of Hectate, the Goddess of Witchcraft. As the two fight their attraction and the demons, life sure is going to get interesting again for all concerned! This is an action packed second in series, a real page turner, with great characters and a plot with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing what will happen next. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the third story in the series! As I said for the first book in the series, I have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone who enjoys magically wonderful romantic battles and adventures. This is my honest opinion after reading an ARC of this book via NetGalley.

I absolutely loved this book, I think it is my favorite of Lia Davis's books so far! It was a paranormal story filled with action/ suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat but a wonderful steamy romance story as well! Khloe and Jagger's story had me hooked from the begining! There were several times I found myself laughing outloud! Khloe is strong character who dives in everything head first and poor Jagger, he was her protector! I can't wait for the next one!

I really enjoyed this world that Lia has created. I made the mistake of reading this first, even though it was the second book in the series and I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. You definitely do not have to read the first book first, although, in hindsight, I probably would have. When trying to pinpoint what it was I liked best about this book, I kept coming back to Kalissa. She is smart, brave, loyal, impulsive, and an all around cool chick. I found her to be one of the few heroines out there that I think I would really like in "real life". To be honest, I really liked a lot of the characters in this book, which surprised me. I usually like them as characters, but am glad I do not know them. Lia has this ability to create characters that I can easily related to and like and still be fascinating, fun, impulsive, and at times make really dumb decisions. I tip my hat to her for that. It is not an easy task to accomplish. If you like hot paranormal reads with demons, gods, demi gods, witches, and more, this series may be just the ticket for you. It is a fun, quick read with adventure, heat, and para-awesomeness. I know that I plan to read the next one when it is released.

Death’s Storm – The Divinities Book 2 – By Lia Davis My Thoughts: Death’s Storm is the second book in the Divinities series by Lia Davis. Rules, there are always rules and for a lot of us following the rules is the way to go, but what happens when you don’t have a choice? Besides, some rules are meant to be broken, aren’t they? Jagger finds himself in just a situation, and as reckless as Khloe is sometimes, there are still boundaries that even she doesn’t want to cross. I loved this book. I think it is a great continuation of the first book, Forgotten Visions and I am hoping there will be more books to come. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal romances.
