About the Author

Kate Hewitt discovered her first Mills&Boon romance on a trip to England when she was thirteen and she's continued to read them ever since.

She wrote her first story at the age of five, simply because her older brother had written one and she thought she could do it, too. That story was one sentence long-fortunately, they've become a bit more detailed as she's grown older.

Although she was raised in Pennsylvania, she spent summers and holidays at her family's cottage in rural Ontario, Canada; picking raspberries, making maple syrup and pretending to be a pioneer. Now her children are enjoying roaming the same wilderness!

She studied drama in college and shortly after graduation moved to New York City to pursue a career in theatre. This was derailed by something far better-meeting the man of her dreams who happened also to be her older brother's childhood friend.

Ten days after their wedding they moved to England, where Kate worked a variety of different jobs-drama teacher, editorial assistant, church youth worker, secretary and finally mother.

When her oldest daughter was one year old, she sold her first short story to a British magazine, The People's Friend. Since then she has written many stories and serials as well as novels. She loves writing stories that celebrate the healing and redemptive power of love and there's no better way of doing it than through the romance genre!

Besides writing, she enjoys reading, traveling and learning to knit-it's an ongoing process and she's made a lot of scarves.

After living in England for six years, she now resides in Connecticut with her husband, an Anglican minister, her three young children and the possibility of one day getting a dog.

Kate loves to hear from readers.

Demetriou Demands His Child by Kate Hewitt I really enjoyed reading this book, there were times when I cried and other times I laughed. Iolanthe and Alekos met at her coming out ball, and at nights end slept together and she became pregnant instead of telling him she married another man. When Alekos found out that Niko is his son, he is angry but wants to marry Iolathe so that they can raise Niko together. It is a very emotional charged book that I recommend to anyone who loves a good romance. I love the romance in the book, he is wanting revenge and finds out that revenge is no longer available since the person he wants revenge on is dead. Alekos decides to put Iolanthe and Niko first and they fall in love and get married. I love the fact that Niko is computer smart but doesn't relate to people well, makes him feel more human. It is a well written romance.highly recommend if you love a good romance.

A big part of this book is secrets and lies keeping them apart, so the amount of time we have seeing their romance is not as much as we might want. I enjoyed the story, I just wanted a little more time of them actually enjoying each other. Iolanthe Petrakis was an innocent, sheltered young lady the night she met and seduced Alekos Demetriou. She had no clue that the man she was having a night of passion with had a history with her father. When Alekos finds out that this beauty in his arms is his enemy’s daughter, he sends her away without an explanation. When Iolanthe discovers she’s pregnant, she attempts to tell Alekos, but he thinks she was all a set up pawn and doesn’t treat her well when she visits him. She’s scared and doesn’t manage to get out the words that she’s pregnant. Ten years later when Iolanthe is now alone in the world other than their son, she needs help … Alekos’ help. To get him to agree to what she needs, she’s going to have to tell him about their son. What she doesn’t expect, is his demand that she marry him right away!
