I absolutely adore this series and this book features Logan so I'm in heaven. Yep that adorable, meddlesome, hunk of trouble is all grown up and about to meet his Mate ! So how does the author make this story different ? Well allow me to introduce the Fae for the first time in this amazing series. Yes not only do we have demons, vampire ,shifters and witches but now we learn about the ahem fairies ! Mercy is no ordinary Fae, no she's one of three special keys who are essential if the secretive Seven are to prevent world carnage. Trouble is both Logan and Mercy have very different ideas so settle in and watch the fireworks fly as this couple tempt, tease and thoroughly drive each other insane ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

A long forgotten race enters into the mix with a promise of war with the Realm. New, dire knowledge on dimension/dreamworld travel comes to light, along with insights on how the Seven might actually defeat Ulric, with the prophesied combined blood of the Keys. Long-held alliances are tested. Brotherhood deepens. I flove this Dark Protectors' world! Sparks fly high between characters, old and new, along with a lot of plot arcs spinning in the air in this offering, just what I needed for my reading ♡ doldrums. Truly a pivotal story in the overall series. Not to be overshadowed is Logan and Mercy, their push and pull journey sizzles. Extra spicy. I really liked these two creatures together. Polar opposites in loyalties and ideologies, yet compellingly drawn to each other. Is it only Fate? Me thinks they protest too much LOL With more intrigue and tight intensity, more who's the "real" good guys, like in the author's Scorpius Syndrome series. And with those battle scenes that just keep getting better, this one was just "more." Solid 4.5*

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have started collecting this series and have 4 of the 9 so far, but haven’t gotten this book yet. The cover is lickable….errr I mean likeable!! This is the 9th book in this series, but it is only the 2nd one I’ve read. This series is already in my heart because I want to own and read them all as well as the Realm Enforcers series. Obviously, you can read them out of order though I bet you love them all even more if you read them all in order. This series is for adults only due to the violent fights where heads are removed and the steamy content with mates! This is Logan’s story of both his mating and his joining the Seven!! So much going on in this book, first the Fae have entered the scene, and they think the apocalypse is coming because of the Seven. It starts with Mercy kidnapping Logan, and then the tables turn. You learn all sorts of things about the Fae, and they know things. There is more trouble from the Cysts and Kurjans. All sorts of new information is out for everyone about secrets! I really love these bad boy hybrids because they battle fiercely and love just as fiercely. I can’t wait to see what happens next!! I highly recommend to any paranormal fans because there is action galore, vampires, demons, Fae, magic, mates and more!!

The newest Dark Protector romance is extraordinarily entertaining and explosive. Mercy and Logan’s chemistry is off the charts magnetic and these two bold, vivid characters keep readers on the edge of expectation and chuckles throughout the story. There is nothing sweet about this romance as they engage is snarky comments, hot, passionate battles and steamy passion all the way through their blossoming relationship. Mercy is the last female that Logan should be falling for and the timing is could certainly have been better as he is preparing to take part in the dangerous and terrifying Seven ritual. Readers can’t help but have fun even as they await for the next interruption of this couple’s activities. From kidnapping to realm hopping, this story is a non-stop adventure that keeps readers on the edge of their seat with adrenaline pumping action, thrilling suspense, and surprising twists. There is no way this book can be put down once readers get started because it starts off with a bang and just keeps exploding with energy and wonderfully zestful characters that demand attention. The fast pace plot flows smoothly and the author brings to the story to life with vivid imagery that makes it easy for the readers to connect to the characters and become part of the story and all the enjoyment of this explosive and passionate installment of the Dark Protectors.

This is book 9 in the Dark Protector's series and you absolutely have to read previous books so you don't get confused, especially the one directly before this one. This one is about Logan Kyllwood and Mercy O'Malley. Mercy has been sent by her people to take out Logan but she decides to kidnap him instead. She doesn't agree with killing people without trying to change circumstances first. Logan is the youngest Kyllwood brother, and the brother of the demon leader Zane. He is prepared to undergo the ceremony to become one of the Seven when he is asked to track and retrieve one of the women that are necessary to bring down the evil they are trying to prepare for. He never expects to be kidnapped by a crazy faery, or to realize that this crazy faery is his mate. I loved this installment to this series. I have wanted a story for Logan and Garrett ever since they showed up in the realm enforcer's books and this one definitely didn't disappoint me. Logan is definitely all grown up now! He is the typical Alpha male that we all love and when he decides that you need his help, he is all in. He will do everything in his power to protect the people he cares about, including going through a horrific ritual in order to prepare for anything. Mercy thought her life was set in stone. She is one of a few left of her species and it's species we haven't met before but are known by other's to be crazy-the Fae. And I really love how they are introduced! Throwing these two together is like throwing wood onto a fire! It's all combustible and action packed! Mercy is one of those characters that you aren't sure of at first but by the end of the book you have fallen in love with them and can't wait to see more. And throw in the snippet's of Sam and the other Seven? I really can't wait to see where this new story ARC is going to take us! I can only hope that all of the characters get their HEA-including the one that is still stuck!!

One of my favorite paranormal series. This book features Logan so I'm thrilled. Logan gets his mate and it gonna change everything. I'm so excited that the author keeps us on our toes and we get to meet a new member of the Paranormal world...fairies. Or Fae as fairies like to tell us. So along with demons, vampires and shifters and of course my fave, witches. Mercy is not just a fairy but she is also one of the keys needed for the "SEVEN" which Logan is the next in line to become. The last thing he needs is a fairy with some extra ordinary skills. The SEVEN believe that are the key to the world not being destroyed. but Mercy believes the SEVEN will be the reason the world will implode. So the fireworks fly between this couple. I love the chemistry between these two. I love that Mercy was smart and opinionated and did everything to make Logan see her side of the equation. This was a non stop story with action and intrigue as we try to figure out what comes next.

Who are the bad guys here? That's what I was saying for quite a while in this book. Rebecca introduces us to the Fae for the first time in this edition of the Dark Protectors and what an adventure. Logan Kyllwood is the youngest of the Demon/Vampire brothers and about to become the last of "The Seven". These are the elite group of warriors who will protect the world from the evil Kurjan Cyst Ulric, currently in a dimensional prison. Mercy O'Malley manages to kidnap him with the help of her friends Trina & Sandy. Mercy is Fae, one of 10 cloned from genetic material found after all but 40 of the Fae died in a dimensional blunder when they attempted to make a new home when their planet was destroyed. Those surviving were off world when it happened. Now they are on earth and realize The Seven are about to disrupt the dimensional balance once again. In order to save the world they decide The Seven can never be complete so they seek to kill Logan. Mercy cannot abide the killing so seeks to reason with Logan and his brothers. This is an action driven suspenseful story making you guess almost all the way through. Why is Logan so drawn to Mercy? What is the Fae up to? Can they succeed or are they getting help? Will the Demons, Vampires and other allies listen? Oh I loved this story all the way through. Thank you Rebecca and Kensington for the opportunity to review this story.

The Fae have decided to come out of hiding and save the world from being destroyed when the Seven form and dimensions collide. Mercy O’Malley is supposed to take out Logan Kyllwood, the last man set to join the Seven, but when she gets near him her blood sizzles and her heartbeat quickens. When she decides to kidnap him instead Logan goes along with it trying to figure out this new danger. Needless to say, neither one of them fights against the pull they have for each other even though they are fated to be on opposite sides of this war. Logan was born a warrior and even though he is the youngest Kyllwood brother he has taken on a significant task of saving their world by joining the mysterious Seven. As with all of the other alpha heroes in this series, Logan is dark and broody but he has an element of fun that is brought out when he meets Mercy. Part of that is that she is Fae, a species he didn’t know was real. He jokingly calls her a fairy through the whole book, a title she begrudgingly accepts. It’s that humor that humanizes the story and makes she and Logan interesting. I like that a new species has been introduced to this Dark Protector world. The discovery of what is “fae” makes this story interesting and I hope the author delves into that lineage more in future novels. Logan and Mercy were a fun pairing and I enjoyed their story and look forward to getting a glimpse into their future in the next Dark Protector story. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I was given an ARC of this novel through NetGalley for my honest review and it was honest!

Demon’s Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti Dark Protectors #9 What fun to see what is happening with some of my favorite characters! In this book vampir-demon-hybrid Logan Kyllwood meets his mate and what a time they have as Mercy O’Malley tries to convince Logan and the rest of the protectors that she is right and they are wrong. What is the issue? Oh...just the world as we know it and how to keep it from spinning away into nothing or perhaps if it stays being overtaken by evil that nobody wants to have in charge. There is chemistry between the two and neither trusts the other – with good reason – and there is intrigue and some people that are not on the same page and others that are sure their page is the only one everyone should be on. This was a fun, action-packed, steamy story with two strong characters that found their way to one another AND it left me wanting to find out what will happen in book ten...I can hardly wait! Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books – Lyrical Press for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4-5 Stars

Demon's Mercy is Logan and Mercy's story. I'm so used to the fun loving Logan that never leaves Garrett's side. You get to see a whole new side to Logan when his protective instincts towards his mate comes out. I'm very curious how Logan and Garrett will be in future books. These two are never apart, but now there's Mercy. She does seem to fit right in so maybe it'll be the three musketeers instead. Although, I'm not sure Logan's alphaness will allow Mercy to get into any shenanigans. Mercy is one of my more favorite heroines of the series. One, because she has the power that makes her capable of handling herself in dangerous situations. I loved seeing her jumping in to fight because of this. When it's a human woman against the supernatural, that's when it doesn't make sense. I also like that while she started out all buttoned up and analytical, she is just as mischievous as Logan and Garrett. She really does fit with these two. I hope Garrett's mate will be the same. I think it will be fun to see both couples all working together. I'm looking forward to the next book! I love these big, bossy men!

4.25 stars--DEMON’S MERCY is the ninth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTOR paranormal, fantasy romance series. This is vampire/demon hybrid Logan Kyllwood, and fae Mercy O’Malley’s story line. DEMON’S MERCY can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout. SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the Lock must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world. Told from several third person perspectives including Mercy and Logan DEMON’S MERCY focuses on Logan’s search for one of the Keys, a supernatural or enhanced female who, together with two other Keys, will open the lock to save the Realm but all does not go according to plan when Logan finds himself the prisoner of a female Fae, Mercy O’Malley, the woman who would one day be his fated mate. What ensues is the back and forth, escape and recapture between Mercy and Logan, and the potential fall-out as the Fae have sided with the Kurjans and the Cysts, against the Realm. Mercy O’Malley has known all of her life that she is destined to help save her Fae world. As one of only a few remaining Fae of mating age, our heroine finds herself promised to someone else as she slowly falls in love with our leading man. Logan Kyllwood knows Mercy is his fated mate, the mating wrong is never wrong, but Logan struggles to convince Mercy that trust is earned, even though neither one is willing to accept the other at face value. Meanwhile Sam Kyllwood is taken hostage and thrown into a hell dimension where the portals open for a revealing surprise. The relationship between Mercy and Logan is acrimonious at best. Mercy and her fellow Fae females have been assigned to take down and destroy our leading hero in the belief the Seven are a threat to the world. The palpable sexual attraction between Mercy and Logan is immediate; the $ex scenes are passionate and seductive. The world building continues to focus of the search for the Keys: the fight against the Kurjans and the Cysts; the protection of the Realm; and Hope’s foray into the dreamworld. The seven members of the Shield prepare for war one battle at a time, knowing one or two of their own may be lost forever, encapsulated in an effort to keep Ulric behind proverbial bars. DEMON’S MERCY is a story of family, friendship, survival and blood. The fast paced premise is engaging and intriguing; the characters are strong, sassy and inspiring; the romance is spirited and moving. DEMON’S MERCY is a sexy,

The Realms back people!! I love love this authors work and this is no exception! She manages to write characters that you can love/or hate, worlds that completely draw you in and romance that sizzles. I wanted to do a full series reread before starting this but I was just too impatient, so I read Vampire’s Faith again and then started in with Demons Mercy. Logan Kyllwood is all amazing....he’s a fantastic alpha male with all the traits we love in our heroes. Mercy was refreshing; and together the two were combustible! This brings on a lot of plot movement from the last book so I definitely recommend knowing the players from previous books, before diving in. For lovers of this series this will absolutely not disappoint, I’m loving the Seven and watching them fall in love with spirited women and cannot wait for the Viking to get his story...and also Adare and Grace would be awesome. This was a complimentary advanced reader copy provided by the author/ publisher in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.

What's hotter than a forbidden romance? When the parties are beings from opposing species and their union could lead to war. So hot! Logan and Mercy, together, were explosive. From beginning to end, their story was sexy and exciting and their connection was practically tangible. For the remainder of his life, no matter how long he had, it would be Mercy he craved. Logan is next in line to fulfill his destiny - to become one of the seven. He's fated to protect the world from certain destruction and he's found his purpose. He's uber protective of those he loves and his newfound brothers are now part of that group. Mercy is fae and they believe that Logan and his brotherhood are absolutely wrong in their plan to save everything. Her mission is to stop them at all costs. So kidnapping him and repeatedly trying to kill him... normal. What happens when both of them realize that they have some valid points? Or when Mercy realizes that her people may not be on the right path? Or when she becomes invested in the cause? Amazing things. Rebecca Zanetti's Dark Protectors series has quickly become one of my favorite things to read. I'm in absolute love with these demons and their constant battle to save everyone. This author has created a world that could easily fit into this one, full of fantastical things and a reality that pretty much defies imagination. Each story is full of heart and the characters are incredibly easy to fall in love with. The world is still in as much danger as it was when this book started, but with Logan now official in his role, the people are that much safer.

So happy to be back in this world and even happier to get Logan’s story! This world this author has created absolutely fascinates me and I always look forward to the progression of the continuing storyline as well as the love story set within it. I love the checking with some of my favorite characters that happens organically during the story. This particular story is a non-stop action packed fun and sexy ride!! I love Logan and Mercy together. Their verbal and physical sparring is awesome and even sexy. I really like Mercy and I love her for the dominant and bossy but oh so sexy Logan. She is a badass little Fae, and this is yet another species we get more information on during this book and they are an interesting addition. Logan is well, he is everything! He’s as Bossy as he is Sexy but also a little sweet! He is waiting for his induction into the Seven when Mercy drops into his life an upends him. Love the story, love Logan and Mercy and I can’t wait for more!!!

What happens when you kidnap a demon/vampire hybrid? When it is Logan, soon to be one of the Seven, you do it very carefully. Mercy, one of the Fae has kidnapped Logan with the help of her friends. Now what? She doesn't want to kill him, just keep him from the ritual that will change him forever. Mercy and Logan have a lot of chemistry together. They know that war is coming between the demon nation and the Fae. The Fae are more advanced but the hybrids are stronger. If the demon hybrids won't listen, the world will be destroyed. Mercy is to mate Niall, king of the Fae to help keep the bloodline pure. Not many Fae are young enough to reproduce and it has been made clear that those of a certain age, will mate. Mercy doesn't want to mate Niall, especially after she has met Logan. When Sam, Logan's brother is kidnapped, they have to find him. Mercy was kidnapped as well but has now aligned herself to the demons. Will Logan do the ritual to make him one of the Seven? What about the feelings between Logan and Mercy? Rebecca Zanetti keeps you reading. I read it in one sitting, couldn't put it down. I really loved this book. I received this book from Net Galley and Escape Publishing for a honest review. The opinions expressed are my own. 5+

Another fantastic book in this series. The name of the book makes perfect sense now that I have read it. Mercy is a firecracker and she doesn't like to be told what to do. I'm not sure I could have held out as long as she did with Logan. I love how she tries and kidnap Logan for it to go totally wrong. I did laugh out loud a few times in this book and other times I was like get it on already. A lot happens in this book but a lot happened in the last book too. Logan and Mercy are perfect for each other. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. *I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.*

Zanetti always brings a great paranormal romance mixed in with some physical altercations. Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood and Mercy O'Malley duke it out, try to fight their attraction to one another all the while trying to save the universe. Love this series. Rebecca Zanetti delivers an entertaining and engaging read! I always love coming back to the Dark Protectors world. DEMON'S MERCY features Zane's youngest brother Logan and a new character, Mercy O'Malley. The story is fast-paced, exciting and held me captive to the very last page. The chemistry between Logan and Mercy is steamy and oftentimes funny. There're several surprises along the way, including cameos from previous Dark Protector characters. I really enjoyed the book and can't wait for the next one! ***I voluntarily read a Net Galley of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own***

I have been waiting for Logan and Garrett's stories and Rebecca Zanetti did not disappoint with Logan's! I love how she combined both the new characters and the original characters. We are introduced to a species we have not seen before in the Dark Protector series, the Fae. Mercy is a strong women and may or may not kick Logan's butt. The main characters have great chemistry. We also finally learn what Sam's role is in this newest part of the Dark Protector's series. I couldn't put this book down. It kept my attention the entire time and I didn't feel like there was ever really a "slow" spot. You don't want to miss this one!

Demon’s Mercy is a fast paced, paranormal romantic suspense. It is a part of this author’s Dark Protector series and I would recommend reading them in order for this book to make sense and to avoid spoilers. Demon’s Mercy is the story of Logan Kyllwood, the younger brother of Zane and a hybrid demon-vampire. He is the ultimate hot, alpha, protective hero. In some areas, I did feel like he was overprotective of Mercy and his bossiness got a little redundant, but I did love this sexy man. Mercy is Fae (yes, a new species that hasn’t been present in the other books). She is one of the 3 keys that the Seven is searching for. She is a strong, stubborn character who is torn between her duty to her people and her love for Logan. I loved how hard core she was. She is determined, brilliant, and has no trouble defending herself. This book has a lot of action with good fight scenes, teleporting, inventive weapons, and alternate dimensions. In Vampire’s Faith (the previous book), we learned little bit about the Seven. In this book, the Seven is expanded upon - both the other members of the Seven are further developed as well as the purpose of these warriors. There is some intrigue when it comes to discord between what the Seven believe and what the Fae believe about the dimensions and if inducting Logan into the Seven is necessary vs. catastrophic. While this book has great world building and hot chemistry between Logan and Mercy as well as great suspense, I felt that parts of this book were a little redundant - such as the number of times Mercy attempted to run from Logan. I really enjoyed getting to see some of the characters from the previous books, especially Garrett and Sam. There are a few chapters from Hope’s POV and I am seeing a ton of similarities between her and Janie. I am hoping that the author does a little twist on this. One of the things that I would like to see in this author’s future books is a family tree as there are so many characters in this series that I can’t remember who is mated to who. Overall, I really enjoyed this fast-paced book and I am looking forward to the next one in the series. I received this through Netgalley

Okay, so I was going to say that this novel/novella is the ninth in a series and you have to have read a few of them to be able to distinguish the various characters. But then I looked and actually I have only read one previous book in this series - I have however read several of the spin-off Realm Enforcers series. If you like your paranormal heroes built like tanks, with super-human powers, a bossy nature and an affinity to motorbikes and guns then this series is for you! Logan Kyllwood is a vampire-demon hybrid. He is about to perform a mysterious and allegedly highly dangerous ritual to become one of the Seven, a secret group of hybrids sworn to protect the world from an evil imprisoned in a different dimension. He has tracked down a young woman who is one of three mysterious 'Keys' and struck up a conversation with her in a bar. What he doesn't know is that he is the victim of a sting operation. The young woman is actually a fairy (they prefer to be called fae), a species previously thought to be a myth, and she is determined to stop Logan from becoming one of the Seven by kidnapping him. This has literally everything. Demons, hybrids, fae, oracles, transporting, dimension travel, ancient prophecies, mating rituals, BDSM games, dark rituals, vikings, scotsmen, cute moppets, the list goes on. I said recently that I think novellas is the way to go with paranormal, short enough to maintain the interest but long enough to encompass plotting, double crosses, fights, mating and important meetings! Honestly this had so many things that I normally loathe about the paranormal, the bossiness, the way the women capitulate and agree that they will obey the men all the time, the way the men ride rough shod over the women, the way they threaten (and often do) to smack their butts. And yet I enjoyed every second of this novella. My only gripe is that the end kind of fizzled out with lots yet to be resolved - not quite a cliff-hanger but most definitely a to-be-continued. Nevertheless, I am eagerly looking forward to the next books. I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
