This book chronicles the story of the author's life from childhood in northern Iran and his youthful drive for independence that led to life in the Iranian army at just 15 years old. It takes the reader through the chaotic aftermath of the 1979 revolution, including the eight years of the Iran-Iraq war, and details his imprisonment for opposing the war before escaping and becoming a political asylum seeker and starting a new life in Canada.
