Desert Kings: Rescued by the Sheikh by Jennifer Lewis

Royal heir Osman Al Kilanjar must choose a bride to claim his throne, but he's tired of the gold diggers who flock around him and knows he'll recognize his true mate when he meets her. Practical film producer Samantha Bechtel has her whole life mapped out like the shooting script of one of her documentaries--but it takes a detour when she breaks down in the desert and is rescued by the commanding and charismatic sheikh. Osman decides to put the local marriage festival she's filming to good use and claim his bride. Sam is shocked by Osman's bold seduction--and even more surprised when she finds herself falling under his spell.

The scent of his skin filled her nostrils, binding them closer together. She wanted to inhale him all the way down to her core and let him fill her up. The roughness of his chin excited her, along with his hard jaw and the thick, roping muscles of his back. He felt so different from any man she'd ever kissed before: more masculine, more powerful, more demanding--and more giving.

Passion crackled in his touch, and she could hear it in his breath. He was a king--or almost king--with an entire country at his command, and he was totally immersed in kissing her, Samantha Bechtel, mild-mannered producer of public television documentaries who didn't have a scrap of makeup on and who had been wearing the same easy-care travel attire all day long.

His fingers pressed into the flesh of her hips, and her body responded with a flare of heat at its core. They'd done nothing but kiss yet already she felt thoroughly ravished.

And she wanted more.

Royal heir Osman Al Kilanjar has returned to Ubar, after the death of his father. He along with his two brothers will be the rulers of this desert kingdom. When he helps two stranded motorists, his life changes. He's meet his true love. She is Samantha Bechtel, a film producer. She is aware of their attraction but fights it. After all she is engaged, but he's determined. What happens next is a swoon worthy romance that had me hooked. The characters are strong and compelling. I liked Osman. He's a true romantic who believes that he is fated to be with Sam. His two brothers (Zadir and Amahd) take great pleasure in tormenting him. Sam is a contradiction. She desires and cares for Osman but is afraid to commit. She needs her independence. Her rocky childhood has made her wary. While Osman and his brothers plan for the future, an unknown enemy targets them. Who wants them dead and why? Desert Kings is a wonderful romantic suspense. I loved everything about this book - the characters, the setting and the dialogue. Jennifer Lewis has written a standout story.
