About the Author

Jo Gaines is fifty years old. She has been married to James Gaines for eleven years. She has two adult children, Jofrantanay Lavender (twenty-six) and Jovante Lavender (twenty-three). She is also the grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren ranging from three to one years old.

She is a registered nurse and has worked full-time for Humana for seven years, and has worked at the Brook Hospital for ten years. She has been an active member of Star Hope Baptist Church for many years. She serves on the Youth Department and Nurses Guild at her church.

She started writing as a young girl. She found that was one way to encourage and inspire others. One day, she decided to step on faith and write a book.
