From the bestselling author of Devil’s Honor and Devil’s Mark, this seductive novel of the Louisiana bayou kicks into high gear as a dangerously sexy biker takes a no-nonsense teacher on the ultimate thrill ride.

Lara Ashburn hates bikers. She watched a motorcycle club destroy her hometown, bringing her brother down with it. That’s a life she put far in her rearview. So the last person she wants to see walking into her classroom is the top enforcer of the Devil’s Keepers. Big, mean, and gorgeous, all tattoos and leather, Chaser is everything Lara should avoid. Yet the insane chemistry sparking between them tempts her to break all the rules.

Ryan “Chaser” Frey has his hands full with a teen daughter in need of tough love, and he doesn’t have time for prissy teachers who want to tell him how to raise his kid. But Chaser never could resist a chick who gives as good as she gets. Lara is sexy as hell, and she’s not afraid of him. Plus, her links to a California club could provide the Devils with leverage against their enemies. But that would mean mixing business with pleasure—and risking the one woman Chaser can’t afford to lose.

I only made it in about 100 pages before I lost interest. The characters spend most of those pages self contemplating. It was very repetitive self contemplation. The read was very boring. The sex scenes seemed steamy enough but I was looking for something that would hold my attention outside the sex scenes. This just wasn't it.

Great book.....loved lara and chaser, hot steamy love scenes, not a lot of action.....i wish the supporting characters and their woman played bigger roles in each of the books in this series, and there just needed to be a bit more action and more development in the internal club issues. The hot steamy love scenes made the book, i couldnt get enough of that part. Hoping the next book is released soon.

White hot, down and dirty Chaser with Lara, who is surface priss but all biker sass underneath, burn up the pages from their first look. With club business making things interesting along with some steamy chemistry, Crane makes this couple come alive and keeps you holding on for more. Fabulous addition to the DKMC series, can't wait to see what's next. *I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review

Ryan/Chaser had been in the Marines and shaped up from his wild younger days. While in the Marines he learned that quite deadly competence was for more intimidating than a whole lot of noise and bull pooh. Chaser was a lot scarier now something he prided himself on and used daily as Enforcer for his beloved Devil’s Keeper M C. But today he was at a H S as his kids teacher kept calling all the time. Chaser was a dedicated and dutiful parent to his sixteen year old daughter- Kaylee- who was a pain in his butt who seemed to have the family’s genetic disposition to messing up her life as much as possible whenever she could. The teacher had left Chaser seven messages in the last twenty four hours. Kaylee was showing up at the school wasted and belligerent according to the teacher. First he would deal with the teacher- Chaser didn’t like being told what to do unless he respected the person giving the orders. He didn't really like teachers and didn’t like even more being called into a parent- teacher conference, Also Chaser was tired it had been a long hot summer with the club’s usual business and some serious extra stuff go down. Also he had spent the last two weeks. Up in the club’s North Dakota mother charter - the birthplace of the club and where Chaser had become a full fledged member but the club was in the middle of nowhere. Luther who was the president of the mother club and therefore president of the national Devil’s Keepers MC wanted to know why Legrange’s president’s son Whale was gone missing. Whale was much disliked but still fully patched in brother and he had disappeared without a trace. He had been seen heading out of the clubhouse on one of his frequent and questable secretive missions and never returned. Only a punk would run MC and Whale seemed to be heading that way. Whale had only got into the club on a pity vote because of his father. Chase knew the truth that his brother Uptown took Whale out when Whale was about to hurt Uptown’s woman. Chaser was prepared to defend it as a righteous necessary shoot but he didn’t like it. Brothers killing Brothers meant war. There was no way around it. Which was why he and the other brother’s there that night kept so quiet about it Then Chaser saw Kaylee’s teacher - Lara. Lara was a lot younger than he thought. Lara wouldn’t back down from Chaser or show fear. Lara kept poking Chaser with her words and he knew she knew a lot about the biker’s life and Chaser was intrigued with Lara. Lara had a dark side to her. Her father had died and her mother got away from the M C and Lara and her brother Michael were raised by their uncle Ray and all Ray cared about was the club- Brothers Of Goliath. Excellent story with a little bit of a twist with this story. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I liked that Chaser was a biker an Enforcer who was feared yet he loved his daughter and could be tender and loving. I liked Kaylee and felt her situation with her mom could definitely be very realistic. I liked how the bikers united against a traitor of a president that wanted to force his club to accept being taken over and wearing a different patch. They knew this would cause a war but that would be better than being taken over. By a club they looked down upon. I loved the ending to this story actually the whole book. I was also so happy that Lara finally accepted herself. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.

I was given an ARC in exchange for a honest review by NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept. Ryan "Chaser" Frey was nothing but a dedicated father to his sixteen year old daughter. Until she gets in trouble for coming into class drunk. Lara Ashburn is trying to start a new life for herself away from her old life. In trying to help one of her students she meets Chaser. Sparks will fly and chemistry will sizzle .

Megan Crane has a way with words that has us sensing the menace rolling off of the skin of each and every one of the guys in this series, yet with the touch of the right woman, we watch them transform into a gentle soul right before our eyes! Yes, they are still mean and tough and raunchy as all get out ... but there is still a deep connection and softness in how much they love their women. I am loving this series ... and Chaser and Lara just increased my adoration! :) Awesome characters, a heated atmosphere both with steamy sex and danger, and a plot that keeps me coming back for more. With the ending on this one, stuff is about to hit the fan, so I have my fingers crossed for the next book soon! Ryan "Chaser" Frey doesn't have time for petty nonsense, so when his teenage daughters teacher leaves him a massive number of messages in the one day he was unreachable with club business, it really rubs him the wrong way. What does this hoity toity priss know about raising a kid in his lifestyle? Lara Ashburn grew up knee deep in the life, and she hates motorcycle clubs with a passion! She blames it for the childhood she had and for ruining her brother's life. She wants desperately to make sure her student isn't losing herself in the ugliness around her. Ryan comes to the school to tell this teacher to get off his kid and mind her own business, but when she stands up and starts mouthing off to him, he can't help but become amused ... does she know who she's talking to? ... and does she realize her mouth is making him see her in a whole new light? Maybe he should show her ... after all, when he puts his hands on her, she makes it real obvious that she hates it ... and loves it even more!

I loved this story! Chaser is a bad boy hero with heart, a tough and intimidating man to be sure, but also one who exhibits loyalty and friendship. His relationship with his teenage daughter Kaylee is complicated but he loves her and would do anything for her. His top two priorities are keeping her safe, and having his brothers-in-arms' backs as the tensions at the club have ratcheted up in recent months with the disappearance of their President, who has recently returned. When Kaylee's teacher Lara contacts him, he can't blow her off because he's concerned about Kaylee. He just doesn't expect to have this spitfire of a woman get in his face and it totally turns him on. From their first steamy encounter in her classroom to the next time they meet, she gives good as she gets, and he can't get enough. Lara is an interesting character too, as a woman torn between the life she knew and the life she thinks she wants. She'd convinced herself that she hated the biker life, but in truth, it's her uncle that she hates. She knows how the politics works, the expectations, the loyalty to the club and how women are generally treated – yet she can't resist her attraction to Chaser. The fact that late nights involve hot sex, and intimate confessions that he's never shared with anyone else draw them together emotionally as well as physically. There is a particularly steamy biker club house sex scene that Lara always thought she'd disdain only to discover that with Chaser, she's willing to explore that side of her personality that she's always hidden. They really are a perfect match. The plot takes some twists and turns as the story arc moves forward, and there are some action packed scenes as well as interesting revelations. I enjoyed seeing Chaser's club brothers Greeley and Uptown and am definitely looking forward to reading more in this series! Chaser and Lara get their happy ending but the Devil's Keepers story is not over yet.

Interesting and suspenseful Lara Ashburn is the high school history teacher whose concern for her student’s behavior may be a plea for help. Kaylee coming to school drunk has Lara calling her father for a much needed parent/teacher meeting, so she’s not surprised the big, mean-looking biker with the Devil’s Keepers leather cut is the man in question. One look at Chaser is all it takes for Lara to melt as his intimidating demeanor is kryptonite to her inner bad biker chick. But she left that past behind, knowing all too well, the criminal element and ruthless lifestyle of the motorcycle club her uncle leads in California. She’s vowed to stay away from terrible men that are tough and dangerous, but she can’t seem to resist Chaser, the embodiment of savage thrill and sexual excitement. Ryan “Chaser” Frey is the enforcer for the Devil’s Keepers MC, and he’s not about to let some prim teacher criticize his parenting skills, but soon the heated banter between them becomes electrifying and it leads them having sex on Lara’s desk. Lara is blissed out, but mortified. Chaser learns she’s got a tramp stamp tattoo with Brothers of Goliath MC on her back. He didn’t plan on finding her so intriguing “with all her attitude and bravado, the prim teacher on the outside and dirty little biker chick on the inside is basically his catnip.” Chaser doesn’t do relationships, but Lara may the perfect woman to handle his type of unpredictable and dangerous lifestyle. Devil’s Own is the third book in the Devil’s Keepers series and the continuing saga of the DKMC predicament. There are series of events that undermine the brotherhood and they mean to get to the bottom of it. Suspicion of a possible betrayal within the club, the Black Dogs trying to muscle in on their territory, and news of Kaylee’s addict mom in town all lend to a suspenseful ride. My only complaint is that I wished Chaser and Lara had a deeper connection rather than just falling into bed. I felt their story could have benefited from an epilogue, a little peak into how the deal as a family. Still, we might see these characters in the next book. Though the book is a standalone, it may be best to read the previous books in the series, Devil’s Honor and Devil’s Mark, to get full appreciation of the DKMC problem. I received a copy from Random House Publishing - Loveswept via NetGalley. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is a steamy very fast paced read, takes place over a short period of time and Lara and Chaser seemed to fall head over heels instantly. The story is entertaining and held my interest throughout and the sex is off the charts hot. I liked it!

Devils own is for me the best from the series. I loved both Lara and Chaser. Like they were amazing together with such explosive chemistry. I liked Lara here attitude, her having a back bone and not showing any fear. And all that Chaser saw in her and that is way he couldn’t stand away from her. He was loyal to his club and although hard heart he used Lara for the cause. But that seemed to connect them even more. It was great to see that she has easily made a relationship with his daughter. It was also good to see how she accepted her dark side and finally see the reason why did she choose this town to live for. In the end we see her stubbornness and determination. Great book. Loved it! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Devil’s Own is the third book in The Devil’s Keepers series by Megan Crane. The Devil’s Keepers are a motorcycle club that rules the town of Lagrange in the outback country of Louisiana. Ms. Crane is an outstanding writer painting vivid pictures of the events happening on the page. She knows how to bring out the heat as well as the down and dirty sex in her outstanding writing. This is Ryan “Chaser” Frey and Lara Ashburn’s story. Chaser is an enforcer who knows something is going on with Devil Keeper’s leader, just not what or when it will hit. Lara grew up a California motorcycle club run by her cruel uncle and couldn’t wait to escape that life. These two meet in Lara’s classroom after calling Chaser, concerned about his daughter. The fact that Lara grew up in the culture of a motorcycle club makes her perfect for this father-daughter pair. This was an intense, entertaining story with well written and complex characters. Ms Crane takes the reader on a motorcycle ride deep into the bayou country where one could feel the heat and humidity that surrounded the swamps as they read this hot and sexy story. Her characters are real, do not apologize for their behavior and are led by their animal instincts. I enjoyed reading this book and definitely recommend this book to other readers, especially those looking for a hot and dirty read in the motorcycle genre. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the first time I have read this author and although I liked the story, I didn’t love it and I will explain why. I just want to say that we all read the same book differently and we all have our own interpretation. This is the third book in this series and although I got through the book just fine, there are inner workings of the club that I may have missed out on not reading the two previous books. I love a good MC novel, but this one just didn’t do it for me. There was just too much inner dialog in both POV and it just seemed too wordy, for a lack of a better word. There was a lot of sex and don’t get me wrong, I love my sexy times as much as the next person, but this just seemed a little OTT since they met at a parent teacher conference to discuss his 16-year-old daughter and after some banter, they are having sex against the chalk board. The next item is there are characters that are introduced, i.e. the sheriff that Lara has a date with just after she meets Chaser and then he’s just out of the picture. No scene to have Lara explain she can’t see him anymore. Also, a stripper laying claim to the sheriff and then not mentioned again. Just some unconnected islands for me. By all means, if you have been reading the series or what to give it a try, this is just my opinion and like I mentioned earlier, we all read the same book differently and have our own interpretation.

It was a good addition to the series. The chemistry between the H/h is scorching hot. The story reveals the heart of the scary enforcer, Chaser. Behind his tough facade as the club's enforcer, he is a fiercely loving father. Lara is his daughter's teacher......who wants to help the children of bikers, since she also had a troublesome childhood as part of a club. I found the initial scene in the classroom completely unbelievable.....especially since Lara in teacher mode was completely defiant and rude. And yet she kisses him first! Plus she wants to come off as this professional person but her behavior in the parent-teacher meeting is ludicrous. She continues to bait Chaser, yet her internal dialogue is that she should know better. So I guess I had a bit of a problem with the heroine. This author can be a bit wordy especially when the character talk "in their head", I enjoyed visiting with the other members, esp Uptown. I can't wait for t'Roscoe's story. . And I hope the ongoing story arc reg the club is resolved sooner than later.

Lara is a high school teacher and moves to Louisiana to be closer to her brother who's in prison. She has a problem with one of her students and calls her father. In walks in a big, bad biker. She swore she would stay away from anyone or anything having to do with MC. But he's not like her uncle, who raised her and her brother in the club. Chaser is just as bad as he looks. He's the enforcer for the Devil's Keeper MC. He has a sixteen year old daughter and she is pure teenager. When a rival MC shows up in his town, he will protect the ones he cares for. Lots of dirty sex. Sexy bikers. Prissy school teacher. Loved the story. Fast paced. Characters that just jump off the page. Book three in the series. *VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED THIS FOR NETGALLEY

Lara and Chaser meet when he gets a lot of calls about his 16-year-old daughter, Kaylee, who is a student of Lara's. Lara butts heads with Chaser and does not back down and even goes so far as to provoke him. Chaser is not used to someone not being afraid of him and is intrigued. Both of them try to fight their feelings. Lara grew up in the life and is surprised when Chaser calls her out on it right away. He has some serious club issues that demand his attention but is drawn to Lara for reasons he can't quite understand. He discovers that Lara is prim and proper on out the outside but a biker babe underneath. He finds himself coming back for more of her. Lara is trying to stay out of the life but finally understands that what happened with her uncle and his club is not necessarily what happens with all bikers and their club. She starts to see Chaser for who he is and not her preconceived notions of him. When club issues raise their ugly heads even more, Chaser has to utilize information on Lara that has him questioning his feelings. He puts her in a position that could have been harmful but lets her know to trust him. Lara does not like being pushed into a corner and her reaction is a crap shoot at best. He knows she cannot spout off to Digger and tries his best to handle the situation. Lara begins to understand that Chaser will protect her and not leave her on her own after he goes out of his way to stop her from making a bad situation worse. Even though they both know their chemistry is explosive, I liked how both of them analyzed their feelings. They both came to their own conclusions and really didn't need much communication with words. Chaser did try to do the right thing at the end of the book. He tries to do right by his daughter and Lara. I liked how Lara didn't back down and stood her ground. The book was a good continuation for this series and shed some new light on Chaser and what was going on behind the scenes with the DKMC. I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Whew!! Did someone say it’s hot in here?! That’s what you get with a Megan Crane MC book. This time we have the Devil’s Enforcer, Chaser doing his best to stay alpha for his daughter’s little prissy school teacher. Oh, my how looks can be deceiving! Lara made upteen calls to Chaser telling him that she wanted a parent/teacher meeting in regards to Kaylee’s behavior in school which as of late included coming to school drunk. Chaser was more than ready to take on the pain in the *ss teacher who was lighting his phone up. Upon walking into that classroom I have to hand it to Chaser because he saw past the pencil skirt and blouse of who Lara actually was. Lara knew way too many things as to the workings of a MC and she wasn’t afraid to take on this hot as he*l, bada*s biker. So exactly who was this seemingly straight talking teacher of Kaylee’s and what would even make her think to take on an Enforcer for the Devil’s? As for Chaser the only relationship he was interested in long term was raising his daughter to be a person who could handle herself and make her own decisions once she was out in the real world. To think about any kind of relationship with a woman was ludicrous for Chaser especially when he had his pick of any of the MC’s groupies. In true Megan Crane fashion this book gives you great characters to believe in and will leave you feeling like you need a cold shower. I have to say I’m a fan of this series and can’t wait for the next book to come out. I received this ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

I have been a fan of Megan Crane since I read the first book in the series, and I hope that there will be many more to come. I was lucky enough that I got a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am happy to provide. I liked the main characters and the storyline, the chemistry between them was very hot and of course plenty of smoldering sex scenes, not a lot of action this time around, but as the story progresses I am sure dark times are heading for the Club. At times I wished that there was not quite so much inner dialog to go around, but I loved the story regardless and read way passed my bedtime on numerous occasions. You don't really need to read any of the other books in order to enjoy this book, but I would still recommend that you do because of all the turmoil that is happening in the club. Can't wait to see what will happen next.

Motorcycle Tough guys find romance and their softer sides thanks to Megan Crane and her prose. Devil's Own is the third in the Devil's Keepers Series but could be enjoyed as a stand alone. Takes a brave soul to demand Ryan Chaser Frey the Enforcer of the Devil's Keepers to report to the teachers' office. Lara Ashburn has concerns about Chaser's daughter Kaylee and wants to share her observations. Chaser is charmed by Lara's in his face personality but sees right to the heart of her secrets. Danger still exists in the club and the loyalty question of their president Digger. " A copy was provided by Random House via NetGally with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I loved this one and I thinks it's the best of the series so far. Megan Crane has built a fantastic world deep in the Louisiana Bayou where the Devil's Keepers rule yet strong women can bring these men to their knees. This is the third book in the series but each of these can be read standalone although there is a thread of the story that goes through each book. The author does of good job of catching you up on that plot line in each book. Chaser Frey has his hands full with the MC. Something isn't right but he can't quite figure it out. Add to that a teenage daughter that is giving him fits and a teacher who is blowing up his phone wanting to talk about his daughter. Lara Ashburn knows all about bikers and the life. After all she spent the first 18 years of her life with bikers all around her. She got away from that life so being sucked back into by Chaser Frey isn't going to happen. Until it does.... I highly recommend this one.

I'm not your typical MC fan. I prefer a more "safe" read and you don't typically relate a biker book to safe. There are some out there, so I'm always trying out new authors to find them. I know everyone's version of safe varies but my main requirement is no cheating. I know there are a lot of groupies in MC books and I need a H that isn't going to dabble on the side. What draws me to want to find a safe-ish biker book is that I'm a fan of the dominant alpha's in my reads and you're pretty much guaranteed to find one in a biker. I'm happy to report there is no cheating in this book. You do see the wilder side of the MC's and the groupies but Chaser, our H, does not touch anyone since meeting Lara. I can't say the same for Lara, however, she already had a date scheduled when she meets Chaser. She still goes on the date since Chaser and her encounter wasn't exactly sunshine and roses but she does not continue to see the other man after the first date. I actually really enjoyed this book. It was maturely written and I loved the way these two met. Not only do I like a strong alpha in my books but I also like a strong heroine and you get that with Lara. Their first meet had them verbally sparring which made me excited to see where the author was going to take the story. I do wish Lara held out more with Chaser and made him work for her more, especially after that explosive sparring they did. I enjoy the chase the man has to do with a stronger heroine so I expected it more in this one. Even though she caved too soon for my tastes, I still felt she was a strong character. I will definitely read more from this author. ARC provided by Netgalley.
