Dewayne Tiny Lund came to NASCAR from Harlan, Iowa in the midwest in 1958. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force before returning to racing in 1963. It was in 1963 that his greatest accomplishment in racing happened. He took the lead in the '63 Daytona 500 with only 7 laps remaining and was victorious.
