Didn't See Me Coming

Since 1987's Make It Last Forever, Keith Sweat has established himself as R&B's reigning mack daddy. From the sweet promises of "I'll Give All My Love to You" to the steamy pleas of "Keep It Coming," Sweat has kept fans spinning on a "Merry Go Round" of love with a consistent string of Top 10 singles and platinum-selling discs. And his latest disc, Didn't See Me Coming, meets the same standard of excellence fans have come to expect from the lover man. This time around, however, Sweat raises the bar with an edgier mix of songs, including hip-hop-tinged tracks such as "Things," featuring Busta Rhymes and Rah Digga. Not to worry, Sweat is still at his begging best on the mid-tempo tracks "Whatcha Like," "Kiss You," and the Lil' Mo collaboration "I'll Trade (A Million Bucks)." On the T-Boz duet "He Say She Say," Sweat shows his sterner side by forewarning his mate about untrustworthy friends with the catchy quip "I don't think you understand/The same ones all up in your face/Are steady trying to take your place." But after Sweat finally shows a little backbone, he regresses to his pleading ways on the string-laden "Why You Treat Me So Cold" (featuring Lil' Wayne), assuring the ladies that even with a bolder sound, he's still putty in their hands. Blowing away with such harmonious vocals. Who is it that I am talking about? Well it is a person who has the wrong last name considering their personality. Well I am talking about Keith Sweat. He is a man seen as a sex symbol for many people. Never having to worry about anything or break a sweat, it is ironic that his last name just happens to be sweat. Thought of as being a legend for others. He has been making it big with the R&B world since the beginning of the 90's. The latest album released was in August 2000, titled Didn't See Me Coming. With a diversed selection on his album ranging from rap's Busta Rhymes, Rah Digga, T-Boz from TLC, and Lil' Wayne. The introduction of this album is a combination of all his hit songs, which includes ''Make it Last Forever'' and many others. For those who do not know of him or are not familiar with Keith Sweat you would know of his songs, and that is guaranteed. This album contains many hip-hop songs and love songs. The lyrics ranging from being with his boys back in the day to trying to get his wife to come back home. No matter what, Sweat covers them all. The lyrical content contains no profanity and is good music for all ages to listen to.
