Dinner at the Panda Palace, by Stephanie Calmenson, is the fanciful tale of Mr. Panda and the many and varied guests who arrive at his restaurant for dinner one night.  There's one enormously hungry elephant, two royal lions, three pigs hoping to grab a bite while hiding from the big bad wolf, and so on.  Each group of diners arrives one at a time wishing to find a table at the Panda Palace.  This lyrical book is brimming with captivating and lyrical rhymes which are complemented by clever and whimsical illustrations.  This classic children's picture book is sure to keep youngsters entertained time and time again.

I can't tell you how many of these books that we have given as new baby gifts. Our children just LOVED this story. We knew it by heart. I bet that you will love this book too!

My Review: What a great and fun way to teach children how to count from 1 - 10 with different animals visiting the Panda Palace. Also teaches and show different type of animals in the animal kingdoms. The rhymes are so adorable that children would ask for the book to be read over and over again. A must have for your children's library. Great illustrations by Nadine Westcott bring the story rhymes to life. The message in this book is no matter what there is always room for one more. FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.

Both of my children loved this book. When my son was about 4 this was the only book that he wanted me to read. He would not let me turn the page without letting him count how many 'diners' were arriving. Cute illustrations and also the book is fun for mom to read each part as if I were one of the animals.

This book is one of our favorites. We love the cast of characters, and Mr. Panda trying to keep them all happy. I'm always looking for counting, rhyming books.

My son loved this book as a toddler. Have read to K-2nd grade classes. Kids love the illustrations and rhymes while learning to count and what it means to do your best. Illustrations have a level of detail that adults find fun, too.

My four year old daughter LOVES this book. We borrowed it so many times from the Library that we finally had to buy our own copy. Good book for pre-readers. The rhymes make it easy to remember and my 4 year old loves to "read" this book to me.
