You have to marvel at this author's ability to weave together so many disparate elements into one coherent and entertaining mystery, but if you've read the first book in the series, you barely blink when the Navy shows up with the nuns at the carnival. Gotta read the 3rd book now...

I had a hard time going between 5 and 4 stars because I LOVED this book. I got the first one in the series for free and had to buy the next 2 right away. There are classic clothes, an unlikely heroine (who just wants to go the right thing,) and a murder mystery. The relationship problems between Jo and Paul seemed a little forced and there was at least small inconsistency with the plot (but it was TINY)which is why I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars. But I went with 5 because...vintage clothes + murder= FUN!

Good series, held my interest through all three volumes and I would read others if available. Good characters, lots of interesting information about vintage clothing, plots are strong enough for this type of book, which is similar to a "cozy" mystery, but doesn't beat you over the head with recipes and crochet patterns

265 pages, book two, cost $3.99. There are currently three books in this series. Third book is also $3.99. Book one was $2.99 and around 250 page. Both have editing mistakes, but not enough to be annoying. This is a clean, cozy mystery with a touch of romance. Other than the murder(s), which were not very explicit and some rather tame violence, there are no adult themes. This book is chick lit. There is a lot of talk of vintage clothes and obscure clothing terms. The mystery in this book is more complex than the first book. It has a conclusion, but not all threads are tied off. For ages 16 and up. Enjoyable. AD
