G.R. BERRIDGE is Senior Fellow of DiploFoundation and Emeritus Professor of International Politics at the University of Leicester, UK. He was General Editor of the Palgrave Macmillan Studies in Diplomacy series until 2002. Among his most recent books are, with Alan James, A Dictionary of Diplomacy, 2nd edition, and Diplomatic Classics: Selected texts from Commynes to Vattel.
