J: It is a pretty good story, although it is fill of "alphabet soup" organizations. I like the characters and their relationships, but there could have been a little less explicate "romance." I skipped over much of it in order to get back to the story. The conspiracy was quite complicated but mostly believable.

I love all o the books but sometimes the story drags on longer than it needs. I love the fact that Mart was man enough not to let a badass woman into his life. They were equal even though he wanted to protect her. I'm also glad Briar managed to get over insecurities to let him in.

I loved this book because of the wonderful characters, old and new. The connection between Matt and Briar was great because they were so compatible and strong. They both deserved happiness and love. This was my favorite of the series so far. Can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

I was probably most intrigued by Matt DeLuca in Disavowed. He is the HRT Commander and I was very curious about him in each book of the series. He takes his job seriously, has a lot of respect for the men under his command and has a love for his country. Why is he single? One of the books alluded to the fact that he had lost his wife but did not say how. The beginning of Disavowed provided us with the reason of DeLuca’s loss and set up why he is the man he is today. That was very heartbreaking to say the least. Enter Briar Jones. A very big question mark to all of us. And then add in a few assassins, a corrupt CIA agent and we have a conspiracy on our hands. Who doesn’t like a good conspiracy? DuLuca first meets Briar at a security convention in Hunted and we knew something was going to happen with the two of them, but we weren’t sure who she was yet. That was so cool the way Cross introduced her to all of us. I loved the rush of the chase in Disavowed. The characters couldn’t stay in one place for long because they knew someone was after them but they didn’t know who. I enjoyed watching DeLuca not being in total control of the situation and instead giving both his and Briar’s hearts what they needed – love. They let that love in and amazing things happened. The characters in the series are all very well developed. Sometimes in a series, you can run into the same old things with characters, but Cross does a fantastic job of creating different, unique, layered characters in each of her books. The plots are original to each book as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The intimate scenes fit each of the characters perfectly and are well placed in the stories. Each one brings out the heat whether it is slow and sweet or hot and heavy. They are tailored so well to each story and plot that you never know what is going to happen or when. Each book is set up nicely to introduce the next one. I love it when we get a glimpse of what is to come from the characters. Cross is a fabulous storyteller, too. She knows just how much detail to give you during each operation the team is tasked to keep you in the thick of the action but not so much that you get a little lost and drift away from the scene. It is a great balance. If you are fan of romantic suspense, I very highly recommend you give this series a try. You will be glad you did.
