Dragon Gold: A Tale Untold by Macy Babineaux

It's here! The highly-anticipated conclusion to The Dragonlords of Xandakar series!

Austin Pryce is young and wealthy, a financial guru living in a multi-million dollar house near San Francisco. His entire life, every decision is a stroke of good fortune and every investment bears fruit. It's almost as if he has a golden touch. Or perhaps something or someone wants to keep him happy and rich, away from the events of a troubled world and a destiny that awaits him.

Fiora Whitefang is a wolf shifter, orphaned as an infant, raised in a secret brotherhood sworn to a strange mission she doesn't understand. She's supposed to live in Austin's world, to watch over him without his knowledge, protecting him from some unknown threat. And yet, after several years of guarding him from the shadows, she has grown to think of him as spoiled and soft, hardly worth protecting at all.

Meanwhile, a world away, a dark force has swept across the land. A group of heroes has banded together to try to stop it, but they face an unimaginably powerful evil. A leader from another world, a dragon from legend, will need to travel to his home to bind the heroes together and lead them into battle. Along the way, he will need to learn who he truly is, and relearn everything he thought he knew about love, family, and fate.

"Dragon Gold: A Tale Untold" is the fifth and final book in the Dragonlords of Xandakar series. It has a little bit of steam, and of course, a happy ending.

This is the end of the Dragonlords. Or is it? Evil is winning and hope is lost. But there may be a way. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and had to wait until now to see how it ends. Hope comes in a wolf form along with a man who does not know of his heritage. Fiora and Austin make an interesting pairing because of their differences, but together they are strong. It just takes them a while to get there. I recommend this story and series. I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Thrilling conclusion to an action packed, emotionally exciting, entreating series. Loved every book in the Dragonlords of Xandakar. This final chapter was filled with danger, mystery, emotional ups and downs and lots of heart pounding action. Loved it! Austin Pryce is young, strong, sexy and has no clue about his real destiny and the future his has to fight for to save the world just over the horizon. Fiora Whitefang is a wolf shifter, sexy, sassy and raised to fight and protect. Sworn to a mission to live in Austin's world and protect him with out him knowing about it. This is a gripping and exciting romantic read and I loved every heart pounding twist and turn.

Rating: 4.5/5 What a fitting finale this proved to be - a great read by this talented author. Austin Pryce had a tough start to life but has been highly successful, making great decisions that resulted in him being an acknowledged financial whizz, making himself a multi billion dollar fortune. He’s quite blasé about it all, living a playboy life style, so much so that his secret guard calls him a peacock. He doesn't know that he’s also being guarded by Fiora Whitefang, a werewolf who has been tasked to watch over him but she’s had enough of his attitude and behaviour and is about to leave when everything changes as an unanticipated attack occurs, meaning the two actually meet and their adventures into the magical other worlds begins…. I had read a couple of the earlier books in the series but really appreciated how the author cleverly let readers know the background events via a magical book which tells Austin about them all. There’s lots of dramatic action, battles between dragons and demons and romance, too. The story is fast paced with great characters, bringing all of the dragons and their partners from the earlier stories together to battle against Vish’Kazir and his followers. A brilliant story of good v evil with plenty of angst and turmoil as Austin discovers his real past, comes into his own powers and finds his true love. However, with evil on the rise, can they reunite the Dragonlords and save the worlds? I was given a copy of this book without any obligation to read or review.  This is my honest opinion after choosing to read it - and thoroughly enjoying doing so!

What an incredibly inventive and captivating journey. Macy Babineaux has built this incredible world of dragons and demons in Xandakar which she has connected to the human world with incredible magic and imagination. This is the final battle and the gold dragon is needed. Fiora has been tasked with watching over Austin, she isn’t really sure why but knows this is her job. Austin wakes from a very vivid dream where he witnesses the greatest evil as dragons try to fight. Then he is attached in his living room and Fiora appears, saving him. From here the real quest begins. Will Austin believe that he is from another world? Can he embrace his true power? Will they make it in time to save Xandakar? I loved all the twists and turns and truly appreciate the creativity of this fantasy romance.

The awaited end to the series the outcome for all the dragons and their mates. Austin is a self-made billionaire. He has no real goals other than to keep on as he has been. He has women when he wants and the Midas touch. He stays busy, however, life just doesn't satisfy him anymore. A strange dream unsettles him. Fiora has been assigned to watch over the man. She has no respect for him. She doesn't know how he fits in with the war between good and evil at home. Just as she is about to chuck it all and leave him on his own there is a breach between the two worlds as evil comes to destroy him. So begins Austin learning he is a dragon shifter from another world. He travels there and meets the other dragons charged with ruling and protecting their empires. The all out war forces them to put aside their differences and band together. Will Austin join them and help fight the fierce demons in charge? Their relationship is contentious, to begin with, but changes as they band with the others. The story is filled with danger and fear. It is emotionally charged. Can Fiora and Austin find a life together? Will any of them even live through the war? Good and evil. Who will win out? The author has given her readers a true battle, wonderful characters, and a very satisfying ending. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
