Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup...

This is what Lord Edric wants you to believe. He will do anything in his power to see that humans never come in contact with dragons again. However, he doesn't plan for Meia, the foster child who dreams of dragons, believing they are real. Or Deglan, the ten-year-old dragon who bears the ancient mark that threatens everything Lord Edric has worked for.

Join these two unlikely friends as they discover the truth behind a legend so extraordinary it will alter each of their lives... forever.

About the Author

Eisley Jacobs has been writing, since preschool, tentative strokes on paper that made her parents smile with pride. In high school, Jacobs discovered what would become a lifelong love for the written word. It was not until fifteen years later that she began to pursue that love in earnest. Jacobs now writes Middle Grade Fantasy and YA Fantasy. In her free time she homeschools her children and plays with cameras, pencils and paper, musical notes and glue (aka, she is crafty).

Deglan is a ten-year-old dragon who waits for his Rising Ceremony. The ceremony every ten-year-old dragon waits for with anticipation and excitement. Only Deglan isn't like the other dragons. He awaits his rising ceremony with fear. The mark on his arm, the mark that tells his society his place in their world, has begun to change. And the change can only bring danger. Ten-year-old Meia is a girl, human but not ordinary. She's been shuffled from foster home to foster home always hoping for a family of her own. But the only consistency Meia's finds in her life is her dreams. Every night she dreams of dragons. The meeting of these two is unlikely and impossible, yet fate intervenes. When they discover each other they realize they share a bond that transcends time and distance. Born to be a Dragon is a delightful book about friendship and hope. Of fate and choices. Of how it doesn't matter how big or how small or even how old you are, that you CAN make a difference in the world.

My boys (age 3 and 7) loved it! We couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I enjoy stories told from the the perspectives of more than one main character. Love the illustrations from 30 different "little" artists!
