Dreams of a Dark Warrior (Immortals after Dark Series #11) by Kresley Cole

Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan the Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities, yet with no memory of his past lives.

When Regin encounters Declan Chase, a brutal Celtic soldier, she recognizes her proud warlord reincarnated. But Declan takes her captive, intending retribution against all immortals—unaware that he belongs to their world.

Yet every reincarnation comes with a price, for Aidan is doomed to die when he remembers his past. To save herself from Declan’s torments, will Regin rekindle memories of the passion they once shared—even if it means once again losing the only man she could ever love?

Could fate be any crueler? Regin the Radiant, 1000 year old immortal Valkyrie famous in the lore for her beauty and pranks, falls for her captor, Declan Chase, a mortal who lives to hunt and exterminate her kind. Romeo and Juliet had it easier. But fall for him she does. After all, he is the reincarnation of her first lover Aidan the Fierce. Aidan was cursed to die after making Regin his. Will the fifth time be the charm? And every time Regin makes love to Aidan in his other incarnations, he dies. Talk about being torn. She could be signing Declan's death warrant with one kiss. Timing is definitely not on their side. Just when Declan starts to realize he may be wrong about immortals, Regin hates him, with reason. Declan's dreams have always haunted him, making him a very damaged man filled with hate for the creatures who killed his family and left him scarred. Regin is a temptation to him, making him want to abandon his duty to rid the world of her kind. Will they be able to break the curse? Once again, Kresley Cole has created a great Alpha male character in Declan Chase. And of course there is her signature humor. Lots of LOL moments. In Dreams of a Dark Warrior we meet some amazing new characters and visit some of our favorites. I find myself especially fascinated with Lothaire, the vampire Enemy of Old. What a bad boy! Definitely can't wait for his book next year. My only complaint - is that the book ended! Just didn't want it to end. With all her teasing hints, Kresley Cole has perfected the art of "leaving them wanting more."

Usually at this point in series the writing ideas start to dry up, it becomes a little repetitive and dull, but Kresley Cole found a way to keep her series fresh. I really enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would. Regin, an immature comic relief character of books past was given more depth in this book. Her character was nicely developed. I enjoyed the book so much that I read it in one day. I was a really great read.

The 11th installment in the IAD series remains interesting, romantic and steamy and full of action. In this series, we've been introduced to so many great characters (Yay! Maybe she'll write this series forever). It is still thrilling for me when a book focuses on one of my favorite characters (Regin, the daring, speaks her mind Valkyrie) as this one does. This was even more fun because Regin's mate works for the blasted Order! He doesn't even know he is Lorekind! Ms. Cole remains consistent in her writing here and that is a good thing, a very good thing. I'll be reading any future books in this EXCELLENT series. Keep 'em coming!

I absolutely loved this book, it tugged at my heart and had me tearing up a few spots. Poor Declan, poor Regin all the trials they have gone through makes you appreciate their love even more.

I love Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark Series". I am an active duty navy wife. And my husband goes on deployments a lot. So, I started to read a couple of romance novels. That was 6 years ago. But Once I found the "Immortals After Dark series" I became extremely immersed in anything "Kresley Cole". She has been the only romance author who entwined the paranormal, adventure, comedy, romance and steamy love scenes. Cole was able to capture fantasy without being vulgar. (Which, seems to be tricky for some authors?)This is why I can't wait to read her latest book!

I love Kresley Cole's series! I have read them all and I recommend them all! Love the characters, the stories, and of course the steamy scenes. She has just the right combination for me to enjoy the entire book! I do not enjoy anal play or threesomes, and these have neither.

I was wondering when Kresley Cole was going to write Regin's story. That Valkyrie is a nut! The 1,000-year-old curse that she has lived with finally comes to fruition in this book. Lots of suspense, action, tension...LOVED IT!!! I hope Kresley continues with this series; it's great!

I love the series, but the past 2 novels have been difficult to read. This one was darker than previous books, and the highlight of the novel was Nix, not Regin, which fails to do her justice. Would recommend borrowing rather than buying this one.

So, it's another hit by Kresley Cole. If you are not familiar with this author, then go back to the beginning of the series and enjoy the experience. Cole achieves the perfect balance of likeable characters, sexual chemistry, tight plotting and snappy dialogue. Heros are capital-Alpha and heroines are believably bada#%. I looked forward to Regin and Aidan's story and was not disappointed. The plot advanced in an exciting way and the love story was not easily predictable. This was not my favorite installment, but for me that's like complaining about % cacao in chocolate. It's still chocolate and better than almost anything else out there for consumption. I would be remiss if I did not mention the heat Cole brings to the page. She builds tension and manages sex scenes in a way that make me flushed without feeling vaguely sceevy afterward. I read this series again before the latest installment, only the second time I've ever done that with an entire series. Cole has some of the best one-liners in fiction. If you like your heroes strong, possessive, scorching hot and absolutely enthralled with their females, then I guarantee you a great read.

Loved Declan and Regin's story. It took a circuitous journey and had me cursing Nix, Declan, and a few others at the course of this love story.
