Overview

In a dystopian future, a young woman named Ruth (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) abandons her daughter Lila and goes on the run to hide her seismic superhuman abilities. After a devastating eight-year drought, she returns home to her judgmental mother Bo (Lorraine Toussaint) and a daughter who doesn't know her (Saniyya Sidney) but who has inherited similar powers.
