For a good laugh, please see the previous review by ''Vanden52701''; his/her comments about ''direct sin'' are just hilarious! Perhaps he/she should stick to watching cartoons and other programs that don't have complicated ''adult'' problems like this film does.

I saw this movie for the first time the other day and will definitely add it to my DVD library. Edward Norton was wonderful as the young priest and Ben Stiller, I can't say enough about him. Absolutely wonderful. Jenna Elfin was fantastic and the 3 characters just seemed to mesh so well. I didn't know the Edward Norton directed the movie. If this was his first, he did a great job. If you haven't seen it, definitely rent or buy it.

I saw this movie in the theaters when it first came out, and I haven't seen it since. The other day though I remembered it and now I am going to buy it tomorrow! The movie is great, I hadn't realised before that Edward Norton was also the director, but his debut produced a really high quality movie. Ben Stiller, Edward Norton, and Jenna Elfman were an excellent cast, and I loved the bit about her Cellular Phone! That's exactly how I feel about my phone. (You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it) This movie is well worth your time, not many movies can make religion funny, but I think it was respectful and funny at the same time. I can't wait to get it!!!

I went into this movie open minded and I hoped that I wouldn¿t be making a bad decision. The movie was about a Rabbi and a Catholic Priest who are best friends. Their child friend comes back and they both fall in love with her. The start to the movie was ok, nothing came right out and bit me, and the plot wasn¿t overly interesting. The characters were really half cooked and you really didn¿t have a strong connection with any one of them. Just as I was getting into the funk of a `C¿ movie one of the characters slept with the girl. This to me was a sad excuse of trying to adapt religious figures to a `modern¿ way of life. To most people this probably didn¿t offend them, but I have a great respect of those who are religious officials and to have one of them commit a direct sin like that I found to be both unlikely and offensive. The movie does have a somewhat redeeming ending, but nothing that could cancel out the actions previously stated. All in all the plot was thick but pointless and the acting was average.

What a great directorial debut for Norton!! The movie is a WONDERFUL romantic comedy with wonderful performances. Elfman at her best!! The movie is Not offensive in the religious areas; and it is very sweet and funny! A personal fave.

''Keeping the Faith'' is one of my all-time favorite movie...There is no one in the world who couldn't like a movie like this one. The chemistry between Jenna Elfman, Edward Norton, and Ben Stiller is amazing. ''Keeping the Faith'' is extremely clever and witty throughout the film. These three should pair up again and make an equally appealing and touching romantic comedy again.

Give this one a chance when you're in the mood for a good romantic comedy. I really enjoyed it...a real ''feel good'' movie with some very clever laugh lines.
