Dylan by Jo Raven

When you've tried your best for years and never managed to please your demanding parents... When you've fallen head over heels for someone who keeps ignoring you... When you've hit rock bottom.

Tessa is this close to giving up - on her authoritative parents and their demands, on her studies, on everything in her life.

Including Dylan. The one boy she has loved since she can remember. The one who dated her and promised her forever when they were fourteen, and then dumped her without an explanation only to ignore her ever since.

The one who shows up to save her from violence before the stroke of midnight, who kisses her and holds her close, only to tell her in the course of the same night he doesn't love her.

Tessa knows Dylan has gone through some tough times, and they're only getting tougher - but is he telling the truth about his lack of feelings for her, or is he running from his own demons?

The way Tessa sees it, she has two options: run away, leaving it all behind - or stay to fight against her controlling family, and win back Dylan. She has a feeling he needs her, and how can she leave when he's the only man who's ever made her feel alive?

Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

I absolutely love this series. The characters have so much depth and have ways of making you root for them. The struggles that all of these men have gone through is amazing and yet they care so deeply for those around them

I couldn't stop reading. It was emotional. You could feel everyone's struggle. It was amazing. Dylan and Tessa are perfect for each other and seeing them find their way back together was incredible. I highly recommend Dylan!

This book was almost painful to read it was so full of angst. Tessa has loved Dylan since high school but when his mother walked out on the family he broke up with Tessa. All these years she's waited for him to come back, waited for her father to approve of her, for her parents love. Well she finally hits the wall when her father "gives" her to her ex Sean. The piece of crap who forced her to have sex with him when she was 16. Her parents didn't believe her when she told them and now he's giving her to Sean to seal a business deal. Oh no, that finally makes her realize that her father only cares about money and Sean just wants to hurt her, he loves her fear. There's so much happening in this book, even with the other couples and the "Damage Boys". It's a hard book to put down.

Words can not explain how much I LOVED Dylan!!!! He has gone through a lot, rough childhood, pain, abandonment, betrayal and through it all he has had more responsibility than a kid his age should have. OMG... the love he felt for his brother.. it literally moved me to tears to read how he dealt with things. I won't say anything else because that would spoil the read for others. Dylan has a lot of pride and maybe nothing else. He's pretty close to giving up and pushes away any help offered. Tessa is awesome, she's strong and she's great for Dylan. She sees all thing and keeps her distance, silently supporting him. Tessa is so lucky... if Dylan loves his brothers that big, imagine how much love he has to offer her if he lets himself go. This series just gets better as books are released. Its more than just a romance book. Ms. Raven will get you emotionally invested in these characters but also in the world around you. I read this book and really thought about people going through these situations. It made me as a reader think about the less fortunate, how not to judge without knowing the circumstances. Bravo Jo Raven!!! Not only entertaining us with a great story but bring awareness to issues that sometimes... many times are ignored!

4.5 star The story has laughs, grief, secrets, and heartbreak. I would recommend reading the below before this book: Kiss Me Goodbye: Prequel to Asher (Inked Brotherhood, #0.5) Asher (Inked Brotherhood, #1) Tyler (Inked Brotherhood, #2) Zane (Inked Brotherhood, #3) This is Tessa and Dylan’s story. Dylan has wanted Tessa forever. But he needs to take care of his family and does not need the added stress of loving someone. He puts his brothers before everything. His friends, his education, and his job are come after his brothers. When one of his brothers gets sick he needs to call on his friends for help. With Tessa helping out he sees her more and more but can he keep pushing her away and expecting her to come back? The more time they spend together the more he wants her. Can she accept him as he is with his brothers also? Or will she not want him as she has money and he does not? Can he really count on love? If need be will Tessa give everything up for him? I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

It was ok for a short story. I enjoyed most of it. Could have been longer with more detail in certain areas but short stories seem to be this authors norm. s.
