4 stars to the author - parts 1 and 2 make a good book, enough so that I'd buy the next one provided it was 1. However, whomever made the decision to publish this book in 2 parts did the author and readers a disservice. It's hard to build enthusiasm when the opening scene in part 1 doesn't take place until part 2. I remember reaching the end of part 1 and feeling cheated. This makes me very cautious about buying this authors books again, which is a shame because she's a very good author.

Good story, but way too short to be split into two books. Not worth the $8, I'm afraid.

## Again, I reiterate that 8 dollars is way too much for these 2 books. Both books combined are only 211 pages. This is book two. Hero= hot & cold, frustrating Heroine = throws herself at hero, embarrassing ENDING SUCKED.

The Alpha Crew is a heart-pounding series with steamy romance and non-stop action. Edge of Surrender is part 2 of the Alpha Crew series and you need to read At the Edge first to really understand the series. You’ll also want to read the first book so you don’t miss the sizzling scenes of Emma and Ryan together! Edge of Surrender picks up right where the first book left off. I am so happy that I had both books on my shelf since there is no way I would have been able to wait for this conclusion. The action continues and the author created scenes so vivid I can easily see this in a movie. Emma is still in danger and Ryan is determined to keep her safe. But instead of being a damsel in distress Emma takes action in her own hands to survive. Ryan is the leader of the Alpha Crew SEAL team and will always want to protect the innocent. He admires Emma’s courage and they work together to get justice for her fallen comrades. The connection between Emma and Ryan grows stronger in this book but I wanted more in their story. I wanted to see more of an emotional connection that didn’t involve dodging bullets. Also the ending was so abrupt there was no closure for their story. Readers get a taste of the chemistry between supporting characters so I hope there is more to come in this series. Overall the Alpha Crew series is off to a good start. Both parts are a quick read to add excitement and steamy romance to your day. I look forward to reading more from author Laura Griffin.

I thought the first half, which was split into another book, was better than the second. Still a good story, but not as good as some of her other series.

The last half of Emma and Ryan's story. The suspense continues with some very bad people behind the attacks on Emma. Ryan and Emma's awareness of each other while Ryan tries to keep her safe is great story for those of us that love romantic suspense books. Part 1 was more of the suspense and drama of the place that Emma finds herself in with Ryan and crew rescuing her. Part 2 is more on the awareness between Emma and Ryan while on the run. There is also Jake, Ryan's best friend and crew member. It looks like he could be getting his story soon as well. While both parts of Emma and Ryan's story were good, had they been published as a whole book, their story would have been so much better. Waiting for another installment of a book leaves the reader losing the total package of what gives us the need to read romantic suspense stories in the first place. Laura Griffin is too talented of a writer to put her work in jeopardy this way. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for gifting me with an ARC of Edge of Surrender and only asking for an honest review. 3.5 Stars

Edge of Surrender by Laura Griffin is Part Two of her new Alpha Crew series. The start of this series revolves around Emma and Ryan, and consisted of two novellas a few weeks apart. You can read my review of Part 1, which starts this off. In Edge of Surrender, Ryan becomes frantic as he realizes that Emma is missing and in all probability kidnapped. Working with his Alpha Crew teammate, Jake, they will find Emma and get her safely into hiding. Ryan and Emma know there is a conspiracy that led to the plane crash, and has escalated into threats against her life. After a few close calls, they realize that someone on the inside is helping the person behind the murder and attempts to kill Emma. Ryan and Emma go into hiding, as they continue to investigate and prove their suspicions, as well as resume their romance that becomes scorching hot. Jake begins to work with FBI agent, Alexa, whom he feels is trustworthy. Emma is determined not to let the threats stop her, and despite Ryan wanting her to stay into hiding, she will take risks to catch the enemies. The race to the finish was very exciting, with lots of action and suspense. The ending resolved many of the questions, but there were some minor things left open. Will the next book in this series be about Jake and Alexa? Will Ryan and Emma continue to be a big part of the series, as we find out more about her and her father? This was a very good story, though I would have preferred this to be one book. Laura Griffin is a very good writer, and she creates wonderful characters. I look forward to more novels in this series.

4 - "You hesitate, you die." Stars! Emma and Ryan return, in Edge of Surrender the second part of Laura Griffins’ really enjoyable Alpha Crew series. The action picks up right where book one left off, and we hit the ground running with Ryan searching for the missing Emma. This is one of those books that answers many questions, but also brings a load of new ones about as it progresses, although at the end of this installment we know the who, why’s and wherefores in relation to Emma’s situation and the cover up behind it. "Don’t you dare doubt me. Not for a minute. I don’t give up on things… we can do this." But you are left asking questions about other players in the game as it develops, who they are and what is their motivation. Ryan’s associate Jake springs to mind as does slightly sketchy FBI Agent Alexa, there was a pretty hefty dose of chemistry bubbling between this pair as well, and I am hoping that it is a pre-cursor to the author providing them with their own book(s). "I’ve never been good at sharing." I will admit I found the ending a little rushed, and it fell into the 'cut & dried' box for me a little bit as well, but all in all the first two books in what I hope will be a continuing series were a really enjoyable read. Laura Griffin has certainly added herself to my auto-buy list with Emma and Ryan’s story, it had the right amount of action and suspense, combined with plenty of sexy and a really good emotional connection between them. ***ARC provided by the publisher and NetGalley*** A good ending to an enjoyable 2-part story. Ryan and Emma are both well written, and you want to see them succeed. The "whodunnit" so to speak as to who was responsible for the plane crash was a little obvious. However, as it was really only there to be the reason for Ryan and Emma to meet, this didn't matter to me. It was well written. The story moved along at a quick pace and the balance of the action and the romance was excellent. Not too much that you wondered about the intelligence of the main character and not so little that you felt you were reading a suspense novel with a woman character. I definitely recommend both of these!

The story picks up right where Part 1 ended with Emma kidnapped and Ryan trying to find her. Lieutenant Ryan Owen is in an elite, secret special-ops Seal Team the Alpha Crew. When the Alpha Crew is sent into a hostile and militant controlled Philippine Island to rescue or retrieve the victims of the diplomat’s plane that crash. Lt. Ryan Owen was not ready to deal with a feisty and. sexy survivor. It didn’t take very long before Ryan realize that Emma Wright was going to be nothing but trouble. If you enjoy reading romance with suspense than this is a book for you. With Laura Griffin, you know that you are going to get a lot of action with suspense and let’s not forget about romance. I am not going to spoil the ending for you. Which means that you are going to have to get the book to find out what happens.

This book picks up right where part 1 stops and thank goodness for that! I was on the edge of my seat and it was not a comfortable place to be. The twists and turns keep you guessing about what is going on and who is involved and what is going to happen. The chemistry between Ryan and Emma is explosive and makes you cheer for them to find that happy ending. I really recommend this series and hope it continues. **Received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

After returning home Emma Wright goes in search of answers, she knows there was foul play involved in the plane accident that claimed the life of her friends and she wants justice for them. During her little investigation she ends up poking her nose in where it doesn't belong and ends up getting herself kidnapped. Now she must find a way to escape her captors and blow the whistle on their shady dealings... After letting their desire for one another overrule his common sense Ryan and Emma end up spending the night together, and when morning rolls around, and reality sets in he decides he needs to put the brakes on whatever they started. Emma's life is in danger and starting something with her would only put her in more danger, and hinder his focus on keeping her safe, Emma just sees it as a lame excuse and flees. Ryan feels compelled to find her, but he soon discovers that he isn't the only one looking for her, the danger she was facing in the jungle followed her home. Now Ryan must find her before they do... This is the conclusion to At the Edge Part I, and I have to say the story just continued to get better, it was filled with the same level of action and suspense, and kept me guessing all the way through!! This was my first time reading something from this author, and I have to say these two stories made an exceptional first impression, so much so, it compelled me to purchase more of her books! If you like your romance stories laced with a little suspense and whole lot of action then this is the perfect read for you! I highly recommend you give these stories a try, they are sure to reach out and grab your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through!! Picking up right where we left off in At The Edge , Edge of Surrender is like a movie playing out. Where is Emma? Can Ryan find her in time? And what is going on with the teammate Jake and the FBI agent? I love this kind of romantic suspense. Absolute adventure, smart thinking, and blood pumping action keeps you turning the pages until the wee hours. As before this is a relatively short read, so keeping it spoiler free isn’t easy. I will say this much: Ryan and Emma are this kind of book couple that keeps you excited and enthralled in the story. To trust or not to trust is the decision that Emma needs to make. Do emotions change the dynamic or just make it more of an issue? Ryan has figured out his mistakes, but did he wait to long to correct them? One of my favorite new series of 2016

Emma's story continues where she took off from the safety of Ryan Owen's safe house - and is kidnapped. Ryan and his teammates use their years of training and resourcefulness to find Emma - and keep her safely away from the bad guys - and the FBI and other government officials also looking for her. Who all IS involved? And why is the real cause of the plane crash being covered up? Emma and Ryan try to figure out from what they know and what she remembers - so she can feel safe again. Laura Griffin delivers a top-notch suspense with plenty of love story/sexual tension in all the right places!!
