Puss in Boots is a European folktale compiled by Charles Perrault in 1697 in his book "Tales of Mother Goose" ("Contes de ma mère l'Oye"). It is a short book which includes eight stories that have become true myths of children's literature: "Bluebeard", "Cinderella", "Sleeping Beauty", "Red Riding Hood", "Puss master in Boots", "Fairy", "Riquet with the crest" and "Tom Thumb".
