Overview

Electricity and magnetism are a huge part of our lives, and we often take these forces for granted. Before eBooks, computers, and remote control toys, though, scientists put a lot of effort into discovering how they worked, and how they could capture that energy to make our lives easier.
Through their explorations, the connection and relationship between electricity and magnetism was discovered. Scientists and inventors found ways to bring electricity to the people who wanted and needed it.
And, while we benefit from the discoveries that have already been made, there is always more to learn! Whether you try the activities in this book as a fun unit study, as part of your homeschool science lessons, as an extra project for school or a science fair, or just to discover new things, you'll get an up-close look at electrical and magnetic forces.
Enjoy the SHOCKING discoveries you make as you enjoy the PULL of science!

About the Author

Colleen prayed for nice, obedient children of slightly above-average intelligence, swore she'd never leave classroom teaching, and definitely wouldn't homeschool. Since God has a sense of humor, she finds herself working from home while homeschooling her four highly gifted children who struggle with ADHD, sensory processing issues, and {you guessed it} obedience.

Life is never dull...

She has a passion for hands-on learning, gifted education, science and nature, and writing. She indulges these passions by writing books for kids, teachers, and parents from her teeny-tiny house in Northeast Ohio. Squeezing six humans, three turtles, and a dog inside a 790 square-foot house while working from home and homeschooling causes lots of chaos and challenges. But it also brings loads of opportunities to learn from each other and about the world.

Colleen blogs about parenting and homeschooling gifted and twice-exceptional kids, hands-on learning, and living intentionally at RaisingLifelongLearners.com.
