Elephant Seal Beach: Giants of the California Coast

As the sun nears the western horizon, the animals begin to stir. As the last rays of twilight leave the sky, one by one, the young seals crawl along the sandy beach and dive into the rolling surf. They will be at sea until the fall. When they return, the cycle of combat and conquest, birth and survival will begin again.
