Austin has only thought of Emily as the kid sister of his best friend. But Emily has other ideas. While Austin is on his mission, his parents are planning the rest of his life, and those plans don't include Emily. Then in one brief accident, Emily's hope for a promising communications career and a temple marriage turn into excruciating pain. In this moving Jack Weyland story, Emily's dreams are dashed when she's severely burned. After months of enduring skin grafts, debridement, and a painful recovery at a burn center, Emily returns to college labeled as 'disabled and disfugured.' With her self-esteem riddled by the strange looks, insensitive comments, and callous behavior directed at her, Emily is devastated emotionally as well as physically scarred. The Savior's help and healing, an understanding bishop, and others help her to endure. Emily loses herself in the service of others and finds a rejuvenated spirit in the process. But when Austin returns from his mission, she wonders if he will see that rejuvenated spirit or just a reconstructed face? Jack Weyland tells a moving love story that illustrates what it takes to overcome adversity, to grow spiritually, and to reclaim your dreams.

This book is such a good read it! You won't be able to put it down. This book is about a girl named Emily that gets seriously burned by a fire. She has to go through all this treatment. Her brother's friend Austin is serving an LDS mission and she has this secret crush on him. When he returns a lot of things seem to change and you can't put the book down. This is a very inrtiguing book and quite interesting with a good plot. Author, Jack Weyland tears at your heart with the things Emily has to go through. Austin's mom is trying to set him up with Meridith and while Emily is making lots of new friends, will Austin see her more than just Jeremy's little sister?

I recieved Emily as a gift for Christmas. That night I could not put it down I finally went to bed after I finished it. Everytime I read it or even look at the cover I remember what the Lord can do for you when you are in need of help. If we remember to pray to him often for what we need we can recieve it if it be the Lord's will.

Emily is a very good book. It thought me to always follow my dreams that's what Emily did. Even though she got burned she did what she had to do. The most tough dission you will ever make when you are in bad condition is to face other people. She did not want to but she knew she had to do it sometime. It was the most spiritual book I ever read. I just adore this book.

I really did enjoy 'Emily'. It was a good book that really brought me closer to the Church and really helped me understand some things I would not have understood otherwise. I also enjoy reading romantic novels. This was very romantic for me and I did not want to put it down. There were parts that made me laugh, cry, and wish it were me. I enjoyed this book a lot.

This book was an excellent book, one of Jack Weyland's best. I can relate to this book in many ways as a Mormon who too has had to overcome many trials in the past 2 years. Reading this book gave me an understanding that the trials life bring will be tough but you can gain the strength to overcome them. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone .
