There are a few things that we know about Evelyn: we know what she did, we know that we hate her, and we know that she's still out there. Somewhere. She's just not Evelyn anymore. She could be anyone. Even you. Britain is on the hunt, it has been for years. Walton is on high alert . . . and Sandra's just arrived.

Inspired by real-life events, Evelyn is a story of mob justice in modern day Britain that interrogates the question: when is justice really served?

The edition was published to coincide with the premiere at Colchester's Mercury Theatre and London's Southwark Playhouse in June, 2022.

About the Author

Tom Ratcliffe is an internationally produced, multi-award-winning writer who is based in London and Cambridge. He is currently under commission for Harlow Playhouse, Above the Stag Theatre and have work attached to Wildcard / Mercury Theatre. His debut play, Circa, premiered at the Theater de Meervaart, Amsterdam, in 2016 before running at The Vaults Theatre later the same year as part of Pride In London. The play was revived In 2019 at The Old Red Lion theatre where it ran for four weeks in a co-production with Harlow Playhouse. VELVET originally premiered at the Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018.
