Sometimes it only takes a minute. A connection of eyes across a room, a quickened heartbeat, and everything changes.

I was a cocktail waitress with a fondness for partying and meaningless sex.

He owned half of Vegas, with the reputation to match.

I should have turned away. Instead, I stepped closer.

Then, the lies started.

Rumors spread.

Stalking commenced.

And someone died.

None of it stopped me from falling in love.

I LOVE STORY TIME B.B. More than 1 year ago
4.5 Stars!!! "It had been sixty seconds of interaction. Less than a commercial break. As short as a hand of blackjack. Forgetting her should be easy. But in sixty seconds, a gun could be fired. A knife thrust. A bomb ignited. Sixty seconds could be nothing, or it could destroy a man." What the what?! OMG... what just happened?! This book! It sucks you in and spits you out with a bang! Just when I thought I knew how it all was going to go down, those last few words! Holy hell, things are about to get craaazy! I’m so nervous! What is going to happen now? Oh my heart. It broke for Dario. From the moment he was introduced in this story, I was captivated. I knew there was no way Bell could resist such a stunning, powerful man. I loved the sexual tension and the chemistry between them. Who knew loving someone could end so badly? All I know, is that this is a must read for fans of romantic suspense! I highly recommend! "He was handsome, but it wasn't even his looks. There was something between us, and I stepped back in hopes it would fade. It didn't." ♥ Review by Lys *Book 2, Double Down, to be released June 18. I am counting down the days!

4.5 stars Even Money is an attention grabbing, emotion twisting, hormone laced ride that leaves you stumbling when you get off. It opens with a seemingly innocent beginning. An introduction into the quirks of a group and leads you into the lion's den by mere coincidence. It's almost a trick of the cards. Luring you into contact with a chemistry that is bound and unbreakable. Teasing your senses with possibilities. Showing you all it could be while making you desperate to run from yourself. Yes, Even Money is dangerous and addictive. You won't know how bad you've fallen until it's too late. A world destroyed all because you couldn't stop that unbreakable bond...but now is it in tatters? Is this the end? Where does this leave us? I will tell you. It leaves you begging for more and yet afraid to find out if this is the end of a whirlwind experience... Is there a tomorrow? I can't wait to dive into Double Down.

Wow!!! What a read!!!! When I read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be a good read, but it far surpassed anything I was expecting. Bell is a cocktail waitress working in a casino trying to forget the horrific event that happened during her childhood that changed her forever. She thinks she is doing pretty good. She has great friends and a great job. She controls her own emotions and relationships with men, never giving her heart to ANYONE! When she lays eyes on Dario Capece one night, everything changes! Dario is rich, and he has worked hard to be the success he is. He has a wife, Gwen, but they have an arrangement. She sees who she wants and so does he, but it’s discreet. They always promised to never leave the other, but when he sees Bell, life for him is getting ready to become EXTREMELY COMPLICATED! This is a book that kept my interest from the very beginning, not only the storyline but the characters as well. Both stand out in the book. It is told from several POVs which makes it even more interesting. I felt for all three main characters, Bell, Dario, and Gwen, Dario’s wife. All three have led really hard lives, and Gwen and Bell have suffered things no person should ever have to endure. Torre has given her readers three very complex and multi-layered characters. This is not just a romance, but it full of betrayals, secrets, action, and an evil villian. Parts had me on the edge of my seat because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. You will know what I mean the deeper you get into the book. It does end in one heck of a cliffhanger, but never fear, the sequel is releasing very soon. I’m a certainly looking forward to it.

intriguing and suspenseful EVEN MONEY is the first instalment in Alessandra Torre’s contemporary, adult ALL IN romantic suspense duet focusing on Las Vegas billionaire and multiple casino owner Dario Capece, and college student /cocktail waitress Bell Hartley. NOTE: Due to the story line content, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers. Told from first person point of view (Bell), and several third person perspectives including Dario Capece EVEN MONEY follows the forbidden relationship between Las Vegas billionaire casino owner Dario Capece, and twenty-two year old college student / cocktail waitress Bell Hartley. Bell Hartley is a struggling cocktail waitress working for an underground casino that caters to the uber rich and famous- those who wish to remain out of the public eye. Enter Las Vegas casino owner Dario Capece, a married, powerful, self-made billionaire, known as the king of Vegas, who worked his way up through the ranks including a ten-year marriage of convenience to the Majestic Casino heiress Gwen Hawk, a marriage, that for all intents and purposes was, in name only. Affairs and sex outside of the marriage is an accepted practice between the married couple but falling in love, with someone else, meant a change in status that was a difficult prospect to swallow. Meeting Bell Hartley threw all caution to the wind including his personal mandate never to fall in love, or to let any outside relationships interfere with his business or his wife. Dario Capece wants Bell Hartley within minutes of meeting our story line heroine but Dario’s reputation as a manwh*re with a hard-nosed, take no prisoners attitude is only surpassed by the scathing reputation of his father in law Robert Hawk. Warned by her friends to not get involved with Dario Capece, Bell Hartley is drawn like a moth to a flame, an involvement that has attracted the attention of the man in charge. Bell Hartley is no withering wallflower but a tormented heroine whose own past is filled with betrayal and loss. What ensues is the insta-lust/inta-love relationship between Dario and Bell, and the fall-out as the upset to the status-quo means someone may be about to lose their life. EVEN MONEY is an intriguing and suspenseful story line that reveals a number of heart-breaking backstories, the power of money, and the potential for greed and jealousy to destroy them all. The premise is edgy and fascinating; the characters are spirited, flawed and tragic; the romance is intimate, intense and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. EVEN MONEY ends on a cliffhanger-you have been warned.

4 1/2 Stars! Come and play with the elite of Vegas! Bell is a waitress in a Vegas Casino that's just off the strip. It's the casino that you go to if you don't want to be seen, so all the high profile Vegas elite come to play here. Dario is the owner of several casinos in Vegas and he has his eye on the small casino where the elite go. While checking the casino out, he meets a waitress that doesn't back down from him and this intrigues him. He soon becomes obsessed with her, but he's a married man with a mistress and a waitress on the side. What lengths will he go to have the beautiful Bell? This book is a little different from the regular romance and it captured my interest from the very first chapter. It pulled me into the Vegas life as told through the very rich and then the struggling worker. There is a twist at the end that I just didn't see coming and made my jaw drop to the floor. I can't wait for the 2nd book in the duet. I received an ARC courtesy of Select Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I have read and loved other books by Alessandra Torre so decided to give Even Money a read. This book wreaked of wealth and power, not an element I am drawn to but it is working so far with Even Money. I was really surprised at the thriller aspect of this book. I went in a bit blind I suppose, just expecting greatness based on the author. (She did not disappoint.) But I anticipated more romance and less on the edge of my seat nervousness. The overall premise is a dangerous affair between a Vegas big shot, maybe The Vegas big shot, and a college party girl. She is only out for hook ups and, given his marriage, he isn't looking for anything serious either. Now the H does love his wife and really wants to be loyal to her but there is so much going on in the background that this affair is not surprising. Both the H and his wife are likable characters but so is the mistress. The wife's psychotic father is added to the mix and it all hits the fan. This is a duet and Even Money does end in a cliffhanger. Still very worth the read and a short wait until book 2. Loved it and can't wait for the conclusion. You really will want to read book 2.

Holy Wow! This book captured me from page one and by the time I reached the end I was a balled up mess of nerves. Working for friends who feel like family at an underground casino, Bell meets the man who basically owns Vegas. The chemistry and attraction to Dario is immediate despite the fact that few words are spoken. When it comes to light that he is having her followed, he uses it to push open the door and enter her life in a substantial way. Dario is instantly attracted to Bell and unable to get her off his mind. With stalker like actions, he sets out to learn everything he can about her. Once he accomplishes his goals he is completely trapped. His desire for her has now put Bell and his wife in danger and any decision he makes will only compound the problem. But he can’t let her go. I loved Dario’s obsessive tendencies in regards to Bell, his need to protect and provide for her. However, she’s a strong independent woman who has survived a nightmare and refuses to yield to his demanding ways. (Be assured, this trait does not lead to any too stupid to live moments.) Bell has no intention of getting into a relationship with anyone but she finds herself unable to stop the pull that Dario has on her heart. I enjoyed watching her slowly accept that what she felt for Dario was love. Together, this couple move through some rocky places as Bell is reluctant due to his marriage and Dario is intent on keeping her safe. The pull toward each other overcomes all their obstacles. Along the way, we occasionally get another point of view in the story. This one is dark and sinister and ratchets up the angst each time they pop up. There is evil here and it’s only a matter of time before it rears its ugly head. This had a great pace to it that never got too wordy. The secondary characters were wonderful and the steam between the hero and heroine was scorching. Yes, it’s true, Dario is married. However, his wife is his best friend and the marriage was arranged for purposes other than love. While his wife is in love with another man, he has arrangements with two women. This ends in a huge cliffhanger! I’m talking HUGE! Thank goodness the next book, Double Down is releasing in a few days. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a fantastic read! I'm so glad that I have the habit of just diving into books with little to no knowledge. I would have regretted passing on this book because if I had known the hero was married, I don't think I would have given this one a chance. Cheating is such a grey area for people so I will say that for me, I did not view this couple as cheating. The marriage is a business relationship but a whole lot more complicated than that. That complication as well as Dario and Bell's relationship is what had me riveted to this book. Dario is a very powerful man in Vegas. One you don't want to mess with. With just one look at Bell, he switches his laser sharp focus onto her with an intensity that makes it impossible to say no to. For such a powerful man, he's never met someone who could so easily disrupt the fragile balance of his marriage, his job and his life. Bell is just one tiny fish in the big vast ocean full of sharks. She's focused on her job and her studies. She doesn't do relationship, only casual hookups. Due to what she suffered at 15, she's never been tempted to risk more than her body to a man. Until Dario. The one man she's willing to risk it all is unattainable. There were so many things about this book that grabbed my attention. Dario's power and the way he pursued Bell. The way Bell stood up for herself even when she wanted to cave. The wife. The father-in-law. Claudia. You know it's all going to crumble down but you don't know how. It sucked me in and left me hanging in the end. I loved every minute of it. ARC provided by NetGalley.

OMG is what I said when I finished this book and OMG is how I am still reacting 24hrs later. Nothing in this book was as it seemed and it was a wild ride trying to figure out where we were going. I loved every minute of it. Bell, Dario, Lance, Rick, Gwen ( heart breaks for Gwen) too many wonderful characters to mention ( which says a lot about the writing when you love the support characters nearly as much as the main characters) . So many twists and turns, tension, mystery, fear, love, sex, friendship.....Amazing read

Ominous, dramatic, and risqué! Even Money is an edgy, sultry thrill ride that takes you on a journey into the life of Bell Hartley, a feisty college-student and casino waitress who finds herself inadvertently caught up in all the power, corruption, and violence of sin city when the dangerous, commanding, married Dario Capece sweeps her off her feet. The prose is dark and seductive. The characters are consumed, possessive, and impulsive. And the well-paced, suspenseful plot is filled to the brim with twists, turns, surprises, depravity, sex and murder. Overall, Even Money is another tense, intriguing, salacious tale by Torre that has just the right amount of romance and mystery to keep you invested and engaged from start to finish and a cliffhanger ending that will have you counting down the days until Double Down, All In Duet #2, releases in the later part of June.

This was just an okay read for me. Maybe I'm old school Ms Torre, because I loved her early books. This one lacked the depth and great plot lines that made her previous books so incredible. You've read the storyline enough without me having to rehash it again. Just enough to say there's a whole lot of crazy going on in this book. I will say I loved the layout of the book and made it easy to read. The books is a crazy quadrangle of psycho which adds to the spin. Dario and Bell are a bit one dimensional. Gwen I understood. Her crazy father is just that. The book ends on a cliffhanger and you have no idea where this story is going to go in the second book. You might think you do but never underestimate Allesandra and her writing ability. This one may have been a little on the light side but I think we're all going to get smacked between the eyes in book 2. Just my thoughts on that. *arc from NetGalley and Publisher post release for an honest review**

4.5 Stars Oh my word!! I have no words. How does Alessandra Torre come up with these, unique, brilliant, unexpected storylines? I thought I knew which way this book would go, I had a few theories, I was trying to imagine each scenario, and then BAM! I did not see that coming. My head is spinning. Now to the characters, Dario and Bell, I adored them, even Gwen, I had respect for knowing her upbringing and her psychotic father. For such a strong, intimating man, Dario is so sweet, caring and understanding with Bell, just the right amount of alpha. As for Bell, maybe she is a little weak, allowing the affair with Dario to go ahead, but let’s be honest. How would you fair up against all that confidence and charisma? A wonderful story full of suspense and angst with just the right amount of sexy time. I’m being petty only giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5, this is purely because I’m frustrated at having to wait for book 2. I know it’s all part of reading a duet. It doesn’t mean I have to like it though. I was well and truly hooked from the first page, and following the explosive ending, I cannot wait to see what twists and turns book 2 will bring. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Even Money, with its sensual words and smooth characters, screams to be read. Once you turn the first page, you’re hooked and Alessandra Torre keeps you on edge until the final page. This is the first book in a duet series and the second book, Double Down, releases on June 18th, so you don’t have to wait very long for the continuation of Bell and Dario’s exciting love story. You’ll realize fairly quickly that Alessandra is a master of wordplay and the way she writes has a lyrical quality. It brings to mind the scenes and the characters within the scenes, how they look, how they feel, what they want. It’s spellbinding and just one more reason to love this author’s novels. Dario is the King of Vegas and should be off limits. He’s bold and brash under silk ties and expensive suits. It’s an interesting juxtaposition to read what he’s feeling versus his actions and just another thing that makes Dario a unique character. Bell is young, closed off, and used to being in control sexually, but what happens when she finally meets Dario? Sparks fly, emotions blossom, and a truly fantastic story unfolds before our eyes. Alessandra Torre once again shares a story of two people that shouldn’t be together, but can’t be kept apart. I’ll tell you to expect the unexpected as there are a ton of twists in this story. I appreciated the peripheral characters, including Rick and Lance, as they are what give you a little more insight into Bell’s character and why they are so protective of her. Even Money as a story seems like something that could actually happen in the Vegas world. It’s not far-fetched and has roots in reality. Truly an exciting read and I cannot wait to get my hands on Double Down next week.

Leave it to Alessandra Torre to leave a reader on the edge of their seats with anticipation and that 'what's going to happen next' question floating in their heads! Talk about suspense! Yes, Even Money is a love story at the core, but this story had so many layers...it's hard to explain all the feelings I have for Bell and Dario's story. From the second that these two enthralling characters lock eyes, their lives change forever. As much as Bell wants to push Dario away, her efforts prove to be pointless. The chemistry these two have? Off. The. Charts! Torre does a wonderful job writing strong, believable characters, and Dario and Bell are no exception. Resilient, strong, and passionate, both would do anything for someone they love. Even Money put me through the ringer. The balance between romance and suspense was perfect. Alessandra did a flawless job grabbing the reader from the very first chapter and not letting go. This story was a binge read, and I didn't want it to end! Waiting, not so patiently for book 2!

Put all your money on Dario and Bell... This book is captivating, scorching hot and has a jaw dropping cliff hanger. You will get swept away with Dario and Bell's hypnotic attraction. You will be spell bound by their connection and you will be left wanting to see how their cards play out in the deck that is being controlled by multiple other players' hands other than themselves. Is their attraction, chemistry and love enough to survive all the obstacles in their path????

Even Money is the perfect blend of danger, seductiveness and suspense. Alessanda Torre truly shines in her edgier, fast paced writing style, and she has delivered us a powerhouse. Set in the allure of the sunset strip, this book has you teetering on the very edge of power and control. Torre is a master at combining romance and suspense. I could not put this book down. Each chapter more addictive than the next. I can’t wait for book two. I'll be on the lookout to see if this book becomes an audiobook. I think it would be out of this world!

Make sure you have time when you pick up Even Money because this book will hold you and you will not want to do anything else but find out what's going to happen next. Bell lives her life with no regrets and when she meets Dario she's not very sure about him. Dario has to work to get Bell.

Alessandra can weave a tale like no other. You think you know what’s going to happen, and you’re almost never right. And I love that about her books. I’m always enthralled from the first word to the last. Bell and Dario are drawn to each other immediately. But forces are working against them, powerful, crazy forces — a bad combination. It will take an outlandish plan to get them out of trouble. Can’t wait for book 2. I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting!!!
