Eviction
Phyllis Ludwigsihn's latest task was simple enough: just call on each of the 16 tenants in the 209 building and let them know they can either buy their apartment or move out in 30 days. Only when one of the tenants is found lying on her kitchen floor with her head bashed in, Phyllis had to call on the tenants a second time for a different reason.

About the Author

In many ways, author Paula Murphy's life-story parallels that of her protagonist Phyllis Ludwigsohn. Born in Montreal Quebec, she was brought along with her family when her father, an aerospace engineer, moved to Southern California. Educated at California State University at Long Beach where she played field hockey for the college. A resident of Santa Monica, she's had multiple careers--though none as a detective--and fewer relationships than her protagonist. Worries about who will take care of her parrots when she dies.
