Overview

An ace reporter investigates the suspicious death of her best friend's baby in this #1 New York Times bestselling political thriller of murder, passion, and intrigue in the White House.

Barrie Travis is not famous; she's just a damn good reporter stuck at a low-budget television station. Then, her old friend — now America's First Lady — asks her to investigate the death of her baby. Stunned by grief after the loss of her infant son, the President's wife hints that her child didn't really die of SIDS; in reality, he may have been murdered.

Blind to everything but finding the truth, Barrie delves into the private lives of the president and his wife and uncovers dark and terrible secrets that will test her ethics, her patriotism, and her courage. With the help of Gray Bondurant, a mysterious former presidential aide, this story could topple the presidency and change the course of history.

In this fast-moving tale from a master of suspense, Barrie must fight powerful forces that want nothing more than to see the scandalous past — and a certain young reporter — dead and buried.

I have read this before, but a long time ago. BN led me to believe it was a new Brown book. While I should have recalled the title, I did not. So, I paid for a book already read, and I am not happy with BN. Actually, I would like my money refunded.

I am so tired of B&N hyping books as new releases and even sending emails exclaiming "new release" only to purchase favorite authors and learnung the book was published and released 14 years ago and many times in paperback kundle provides a publishing ng date AND an ebook release date Maybe that is why so many people are moving to Kindle and Nook is loosing marketshare

I was hooked from the very beginning..greed, lust, honor and revenge... this book has it all!! Absolutely the best book I've ever read. I find myself comparing every book I've read since and none can stand up to Exclusive. Sandra Brown out did herself with this one!!

This is the first book I've read by Sandra Brown, but it certainly won't be the last. This book was intriguing and suspenseful. There were numerous twists right up to the last page. The thing that moved this book from rrally goid to excellent was the character development. The depth she added made the characters real. I highly recommend this book.

387 pages of a great book...love SB's books. Lots of white House lies and cover ups. Romance and murder.

I believe that Exclusive is Sandra Browns best work of all time. I loved her romances dearly but to be her first book (I believe) into the Mystery / Suspense was just over the wall. I do not think that Ms Brown has worte anything to equal this book. Couldn't put it down

I literally could not put this book down. Once I thought I knew what is going on, Sandra Brown does a 180! What more could you ask in a great novel, suspense, lies, murder, romance¿ it was absolutely wonderful. This is the second book I have read from Ms. Brown and I recommend if you are CONSIDERING buying it, go out and get yourself a copy ASAP, but make sure you have a full day to read it cause once the book opens, the pages practically turn themselves!

This is the second time that I read this book and enjoyed it just as much the second time. This book was one of the novels that made Sandra Brown one of my favorite authors. She has a writing style that is easy to read and never dull. This plot is definitely not realistic but it is fast moving and exciting.

This book was SOOOOOO good! I could not put it down. I was dissapointed as the book slowed at the end, but then --BAM!-- Sandra Brown slams into you with a conclusion that will leave you speachless! (literally!) I couldn't believe it! It totally blew me away! Ü!!!

I totally enjoyed this book, it has humor, suspense, romance and action all tied up. I was shocked when I got to the first meeting of Barry and Grey, I even went back and started again 'cause I couldn't believe it!!! I loved the ending, it literally left me with my mouth opened! I also liked that the heroine was not a total knockout, she was real. I would really recommend this book to all readers who enjoy goood surprises and are a bit tired of the typical Hollywood endings.

Best book so far! Kept me wanting more. If you want a great story this is it!

This book is typical Sandra Brown - chick lit with a bite.  Her writing keeps you interested even if the story of a reporter and special forces type is a bit far-fetched with a predictable ending.  Throwing a corrupt president and a dead baby into the mix made it oh so interesting.

If you are REALLY bored and have nothing and I mean nothing else to read then this book is for you. The last 2 chapters aren't bad. The rest of the book will having you wishing for time and money back!

The first few chapters were very slow moving, it was difficult reading, boring, then I could not put down. The story line kept you on your toes. Highly recommend!

I am a HUGE fan of Sandra Brown and usually fall in love with the characters right at the beginning. I don't know if it is the leading lady's name (Barrie - isn't this a man's name?) that I couldn't get used to or what, but I just didn't "care" about the characters as I usually do. But other than that it was an excellent plot and WoW what an ending. Worth the read!

It took me about THREE WEEKS to get through this terribly boring story! There was way too much 'Stuff' that was unnecessarily written about, and could have been left out. Sandra Brown is a great writer, but she really needs to stick with the stuff that makes the story ... not useless material just to fill up space. This could have been a great romance book, but it was way too 'Cluttered'!!

After reading Exclusive I went and out got all of her books from the library. I don't want to give anything away, but the twists and turns were very satisfying and I'm a touch critic.

"Exclusive" was first published in 1996. Despite the passage of many societal and political changes, I felt the storyline stayed principally relevant in today's world. With lots of political intrigue and plot twists; the story keeps from dragging, even though some bits are a little unbelievable.I listened to the unabridged version narrated by Ms. Eby, whom did an admirable job in developing and consistently using many different character voices.Overall, a good book to listen to.

Gagged my way through it in the car (it's audio). I didn't like the narrator, although she had a nice voice, she kept jumping in and out of accents with the same character. Tried to do male voices, not well. Ugh. Aside from that, the story was contrived and poorly researched. It could have been good, but the character interactions were wooden or predictable. Of course there was the mandatory torrid sex scene which was completely gratuitous and added nothing to the plot whatsoever. At least I know I needn't bother with Sandra Brown again. YMMV :)

This book failed to capture my interest. I started skipping the boring parts, then realized I was reading hardly anything at all. It wasn't necessarily a bad book -- just not entertaining enough to hold my attention.

Reporter Barrie Travis isn't exactly top of the food chain, so the call from America's First Lady who's lost her baby to SIDS is a bit of a surprise. Barrie's up for the challenge, but when she learns a bit too much about the circumstances surrounding the babies death - enough to make her think just maybe it wasn't an accident... bad things start to happen. Of course there's a gorgeous ex-Secret Service agent around to fend off the bad guys. Not terrible, but not wonderful, either.

A young hungry TV reporter gets the scoop of her life when she meets with the First Lady of the US. She gets tangled up with an unsavory bunch of people on and off the Beltway. This one keeps you guessing until the very end. A super who done it.
