Fairview Boys Afloat and Ashore is the first book in the Fairview Boys Series. Published in 1912, it is about the Fairview boys' summer-vacation adventures. They get permission to take out the boat of one of the boys' older brothers. Unfortunately, a violent storm comes up. The boat is wrecked on the rocks of Pine Island, and the boys are stuck. When and how they will get off the island and return to Fairview is not at all certain.
