Overview

The future isn't real.

The past isn't real, either.

Only the present is, solid and full, flying at our faces, our bodies, our hearts and souls at breakneck speed as we work to take it all in.

As we work to protect others.

And, finally - ourselves.

We've started to break the bonds of Stateless, a system as rotten as the one it seeks to destroy. But systems are organisms with one brutal goal: to survive, whatever it takes.

Kina has to do the unfathomable to save a different system, one she created out of empathy and love for children we rescued from the only home they know.

She'll use her mind, her body, her spirit — and her ultimate weapons: love, and —

Me.

Fateless is the final book in USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine's Stateless trilogy.

Gripping end to this amazing trilogy. One again, we reach the finale of a Meli Raine trilogy, and we’re left wondering, is there still more to come. Fateless is the third is the “Stateless’ series and it tied up a lot of loose ends, brought old characters back for a look-in and finished off with more of a HFN rather than a HEA, but given the nature of the story, maybe that’s all they have for the time being. The book was filled to the brim with suspense and danger, the intense feelings shared by the characters hyped the story to new levels of adrenaline punching passion. Twists and turns abound, and when you think you know what’s going on, it all gets ripped away. It’s a chilling reality that Callum and Kina live in, one they have to fight to get out of. It’s only together that this will happen. I devoured this book in one sitting, it’s intense, thrilling and un-put-downable.

(I received this as an ARC. All opinions are mine and freely given.) 'Fateless,' the most recent release by Meli Raine, was my first exposure to her Stateless series. It's the third book in the series, and I feel like I might have enjoyed it more if I'd already been familiar with them, but it's still a page turner and if you don't mind first person narratives, this is a good quick downtime read. From a writing standpoint, the story is solid. After all, Raine is a USA Today best selling author, according to the bio on her site. She's the author of several series, which lends her plenty of experience and she really does have some interesting ideas. I'm just not a fan of the writing style. The story flip flops back and forth between the POV of two characters, Kina and Callum. Literally, every chapter it switches up. That feels a little too formulaic for me and everything is conveyed through the book pseudo-directly from those POV characters. It's not just passing through their minds as they observe this or that, it reads as if they're deliberately explaining it. In fact, it feels more like a tag team narration, than a story to experience. There are some really intriguing plot points that could be great scenes, but they're a bit thin and seem to dissipate as they near their peaks. Kina and Callum are very likeable though and I found myself rooting for them quickly, which considering their backstory, is kind of amazing. Though I feel the pacing is a bit off, I still burned through it in about a day. I think in an attempt to convey the action sequences, it often came across as hurried explanations and too frequent use of a couple important terms, but it's entirely possible that Raine intends for us to feel rushed due to the urgency of what's happening around her characters.

Fateless has done it again! Epic ending to an epic trilogy! So many twists and turns. You don't who's who and who's working for whom. Plays mind games while revealing important facts to understand where the story will end up. Thank you to Meli Raine for writing such deliciously twisted stories that make you want to read just one more chapter to know what happens next. Amazing read!

I have loved this series. It has been full of twist and turns along with mystery and suspense. This was a definite page turner. Kina and Callum story was unique, growing up in Stateless, they were trained to fulfill their roll for the cause. Which side was right and which one was wrong. Lines got crossed and the missions got blurry. Who could you trust? Could they even trust each other? Who was the bad guy or the good guy? I loved reading this and seeing it all unravel never expecting what was happening. This is a must read series.

This is the last book in the 6th trilogy by Meli Raine. Each are separate, but intertwined. I recommend reading all of them. I have become incredibly emotionally invested in everyone's story line. There has been so much action, romance, political intrigue, and realism throughout the series, all with overdone tropes that feel fresh and never done before. The level of what the f#%@ery in this last book has me blown away. I can't wait for the next!

This is Fateless, book 3 of the Stateless series, written by Meli Raine. What an action packed and consuming conclusion to this amazing story. If you blink, you may miss an important detail! How can you go about life not knowing whether everyone you meet is on your side or not? That's exactly how every person you meet is in this book. But unlike our daily life, not guessing their hidden agenda could signal your early demise. Kina and Callum are on the most important mission of their lives. Can Kina become her twin sister and fool the people closest to her? With more than just their own lives hanging in the balance, will they be able to get done in time and save the children? Don't miss a second of this exciting conclusion!!

The last book in this trilogy answered all of the questions and has opened the door for even more. After reading the first two books in the series, I definitely thought that I would get this trilogy more if I had read any of the books that came before it. While waiting for this book, I read Lindsay's story and started Jane's and they definitely made me have a greater understanding of Stateless. The ending to Kina and Callum's story was really wild!! There was so much suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, and racing through the pages. I have my fingers crossed that there will be more to these interconnected series!!

OMG what a sensational, addictive, intriguing and intense book! Wow from start to finish I was glued to every word. How would it end? How would Kina and Callum survive? What was Stateless trying to achieve? All this and more make this an incredible and must read story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to you.

Remarkable ending to an amazing trilogy. This truly talented author has a unique way with words and brings us a roller coaster ride full of suspense and emotion. Complex characters take us thru the twists and turns in a phenomenal story line that makes you wonder, what or who can you really believe! I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.

I am at a complete and total loss for words. I feel a little like I’ve just come out of the audience of a Penn and Teller show. I know I’m supposed to believe that I’ve just been given the secret key to what’s really going on. But I also know that what I’ve just witnessed is nothing more than a fantasy I actively participated in. That I don’t truly know any more about what’s going on behind the scenes than I did going in. Kina and Callum’s story sucked me in until it spat me back out at the end, gasping and panting for breath. I was right when I predicted that I wouldn’t be able to guess what would happen in this book. I loved the way this book closes out. And yet, there is still so much going on in the background; shadow agencies at work, strings being pulled by unseen hands, a silent war being waged in our midst. I’m both excited and terrified to see where the author will take us next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Fateless is the perfect ending to this phenomenal series! If you think the heat, danger, and passion was intense in the first two books, then you are in for a wonderful treat when you see what is in store for you. Nothing is as it seems, and the danger and manipulation goes far beyond what you may have guessed. What you find is nothing short of marvelous, sinister, and incredible. It is truly something beyond words. Kina has had her world turned upside down in the blink of an eye. All she wants is safety and to keep her family alive. She isn't sure what will happen next, but she will not allow anymore danger to touch their lives if it's the last thing she does. Callum doesn't know how things got to this point. All he wanted was to find the truth, and what he found has transformed his life in more ways then he can keep track of. Can hope come out of fear and distrust? Will they all see the light of another day, or will they face their last minutes on this Earth at any second?Kina has to face her greatest challenge no matter how unprepared she finds herself. Can Callum protect her this time and keep the evil in the world from tainting her, or will she find herself becoming a victim in the most heinous of circumstances? Kina and Callum are two beautifully complex characters who are the most in sync couple that Raine has written to date in my opinion. I was utterly fascinated at how their training allowed them to read each other so accurately and thoroughly that just one glance would give them enough information on the other to write a whole book. I loved how there was no guessing as to how the other was feeling especially seeing that the strain and agony of moving from one mindset of living to the complete opposite was incredibly challenging and left my heart hurting for them. This book was a true challenge to my heart and left me desperate to know what would happen next. We are treated to the immense pleasure of seeing Meli Raine's immense talent tie all of the obvious and obscure threads into a complex and breathtaking masterpiece that has been building since her very first series. Watching the beautiful tapestry take shape in all its beauty and depth stole the very breathe from my lungs when realization finally hit. This book was absolute wonder and stunning amazement in its purest form. This culmination of this fascinating adventure is pure heaven! She is truly a literary master and genius when it comes to wicked twists and turns as she transforms the simple word into a stunningly complex and emotional journey.

This is the third and final book in the Stateless series by Meli Raine. Wow what a book it is...it is suspense filled, has lots of unexpected events that I did not see coming and it reunites lots of characters from previous books..such as Mark, Chase, Allie, Jane, Silas, Drew, Lindsay, Duff, Lily and Galt ...this book picks up where Traceless ended...trying to save all the children from the compound. Will they get them all to safety? Will Kina and Callum stay together...or will something happen to them? Will we found out who is informing the President and the others outside of "Stateless" to what is going on and will everyone make it in this "new and different" world they are not used to being a part of? Do we find out what happened to Kina's sister Glen? Is Callum really Wyatt...as Traceless indicated? Who can Kina and Callum really trust and can they trust each other? Once I started this book I could not put it down...which is the case with all of Meli Raine's books! This book had me guessing the outcome as I read and I changed my mind several times before the final page as to how it would end. As I read the last page I gave a sigh..sad that it had ended and that I was right with the way some things ended up being. Thank you Meli Raine for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC copy of Fateless. It was an amazing series...I look forward to your next one!

The finale of the Stateless trilogy picks up right where Traceless (book 2) ended. Kina and Callum, along with characters from the past trilogies, work together to keep all the rescued children safe, and out of the hands of Stateless. Unsure who to trust, and limited on details, Kina has to go undercover as Glen and obtain as much information as possible to help take Stateless down. Such a dangerous mission was always risky, but nothing goes according to plan. This series was an intense ride, and the whole Stateless program was so intriguing but just crazy. I have really enjoyed all the inter-twining trilogies and characters. Great reads!
