Fatima's Message for Our Times

The apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917 represent some of the most important events in the history of the 20th century—if not all time. In them, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children—two canonized saints, Jacinta and Francisco Marto, and Lucia dos Santos—calling for repentance and a return to God (as the message of Our Lady and the saints ever is). Presaging the end of the First World War and the start of the Second, as well as the Communist ideological takeover of all the Western world stemming from Russia, and even the assassination attempt on Pope St. John Paul II, Fatima is a unique apparition that can scarcely be missed by Catholics in this age.

In Fatima's Message for Our Times, Msgr. Joseph A. Cirrincione summarizes the calls of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917 for a return to a life of prayer in accordance with the Church's tradition, especially prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. In particular, this book promotes the Eucharistic devotion of the Holy Hour of Reparation, a powerful and much-needed spiritual weapon. Our Lady never tells us anything that would lead us astray from Our Lord; instead, she only ever says to "do whatever He tells" us. At Fatima, she echoed that message; let us heed her pleas for a softening of our hard hearts.

About the Author

Monsignor Joseph A. Cirrincione is the author of several small spiritual booklets on Fatima, including The Rosary and the Crisis of Faith, The Forgotten Secret of Fatima, St. Joseph, Fatima and Fatherhood, and Fatima\'s Message for Our Times. For many years, he earnestly prayed for the beatification of Jacinta and Francisco Marto. Plagued with serious health problems and even sent to the hospital a few times, Monsignor Cirrincione faithfully commended himself to the Fatima children in the early 1990s, when he suffered from heart trouble. He was later healed, and he made a pilgrimage to Fatima as an act of thanksgiving, where he learned the children had been declared venerable.
