Overview

I'm not too proud to admit that finding Mr. Right involves swiping right. Right? Welcome to dating in avocado toastland.

Here I am, on my first blind date, ever, courtesy of a smartphone app and my two annoying best friends.

So what is Chris "Fletch" Fletcher doing, walking across the room, looking at his phone like he's pattern matching a picture to find a real person he's never met before?

Oh.

Oh, no.

The guy I drop-kicked in seventh grade cannot be my blind date. The guy who earned me this infernal nickname.

That's right.

Feisty.

It was bad enough that last month all my old kickboxing training came in handy when a disgruntled noncustodial dad invaded my preschool class and tried to take one of my kids without permission.

That ended with news coverage of the closed-circuit video that parents saw in real time as I beat him up and pinned his neck to the ground while waiting for police to respond.

We won't mention the part where I thrust my arm into the air in a power stance and, uh...

Roared.

Hey. HEY! Don't judge me. I protected those kids. And the kid most in danger was Fletch's nephew.

The same Fletch who just now noticed me sitting here.

Being noticed is bad.

Being his dating app match is even worse.

Why?

Because no matter how hard I've tried to avoid him since high school, every time I see him I have the same reaction.

I wish I'd never kicked him.

I wish, instead, that I'd let him kiss me.

Which it looks like he's trying to do.

Right now.

This is Fiona “Feisty” Gaskill and Chris “Fletch” Fletcher story and it was everything that I hoped it would be and so much more. Julia Kent is one of my go to authors for RomCom books. There is something about her style of writing that draws me in and I cannot put her books down. Julia Kent never fails to deliver; whenever I see her name I know that I am in for a fabulous read. As with previous books I have read I was in stitches having laughed so much I cried. That’s right, not only laughing but snort laughing, totally unattractive I assure you and the looks I got from my fellow commuters just made me laugh even harder.   Ms. Kent writes stories with characters who are human, engaging and realistic and you cannot help but be drawn in to the story she weaves.   However, there are also some serious moments within the pages, ones that had my heart in my mouth at times. It leads to Feisty re evaluating her life with the help of her friends Perky and Mallory and looking deep into her heart, implementing some changes. One of the questions that Feisty needs to ask herself is whether she can forgive Fletch for the past and see the man that he has become. I love the friendship between the women, it is a true sisterhood which adds an additional layer to this story. I also love how caring and protective Fletch is of Feisty. These two deserve to get their happily ever after and I cheered for them throughout. A second chance at love story about taking a leap of faith; it was a story I didn’t want to end.

I loved this story. The characters are so real and likable. You root for them to make it!

I was prepared to laugh my butt off as I did with the others in this series as soon as I’d read the excerpt. I’ve always loved Feisty’s character in the story, but I see that Perky is really the one who totally cracks me up and connects all the characters in such a hilarious way. That said, Feisty, or Fiona as she prefers to be called, still had a very sweet and perfect romance in this book. It was impossible not to love Chris, or Fletch, as he was often called. Once again the author brought all the awesome banter that makes me love her characters and stories. And not only that, but there was the part where they were staying in a cabin and they had to make a urine perimeter to keep the bears away. Gah, I’m still giggling about that! Another thing I love is how perfectly the author can write such hilarious double entendres into the banter between not only the main characters, but even the side characters and the best friends themselves. Lots of laughing again, a very quick read, and a bit of a surprise at the end with learning of a fourth book in this series to come!

Fiesty is a beautifully stunning story of discovering and accepting every part of what makes you who you are. There are no half measures throughout this journey, and at the end you will find something truly breathtaking. Of course, there is even more to this story, but it all interweaves and mingles together to form a perfect union. A union that no one can tear apart because the universe itself has brought these two people together. A pox on the person who dares to interrupt what Fate has deemed worthy and important enough to repeat its message until it is finally understood. What a spellbinding story awaits you! Fiona has longed to erase her past. She wants to never hear the name given to her by a boy in the seventh grade. Her image and mindset has completely changed sine then in order to help erasing her past. Except we can never truly hide from our past. Fletch has made some mistakes when he was younger, and one that has haunted him for years now. He wants to get to know Fiona, but she will have nothing to do with him. When they find each other in their path over and over again unable to ignore each other and everything between them, Fiona has to decide how she will deal with him. When one act of heroism shows everyone what Fletch always knew about her, can he melt her icy exterior and finally touch her heart? I have been waiting impatiently for this book, and I savored every second of it!! I loved Fiona and Fletch and their friends Mallory, Perky, Will, and Parker. I enjoyed diving back into their world of humor, love, and heart. This story focused on Fiona and her feelings or anti-feelings for Fletch. I was amazed as I watched her figure out her heart and how to deal with her past. She never gave up, and she never lowered herself or put herself down. She followed her heart with every step she took, and she cherished the beautiful people in her life. Fletch never wanted to do anything but appreciate who she is, love the woman who left a clear mark on his heart, and win her heart for all time. He was a simple man who just wanted a chance to show the woman he loved from afar exactly what she meant to him. Oh, these two were inedible to watch, and and even more to experience. What a trip! Julia Kent has created another huge winner in my book! This is a beautiful addition to three friends from a small close knit community. Life can be hopelessly unpredictable, and in that mystery comes hope, love, and all manner of humor. Kent knows how to make me laugh and how to make me feel. Her simple words are small miracles wrapped in wonderful creative talent and tied with a bow of heart. I wonder if she will continue with her stories from this fun little world, and if she does, I will be right there to save them all!

Great banter, hilarious shenanigans and sexy chemistry First of all, let me say that Feisty’s blurb is misleading!! Everything that’s in it is actually true, BUT it does not reflect the awesome story you’ll get. Now, any girl who can dropkick anyone is my kind of girl, so to say I was ready to absolutely love Fiona by end of the first chapter is putting it mildly. She was sweet, funny, caring and had a heart of gold along with being totally kick-butt. Unfortunately, she happened to be incredibly prejudiced against Fletch, our H which is a bit of a pet peeve for me and meant it took me some time to really like Fiona. Thankfully that started happening once she began to resolve her issues. Another thing that kept me from completely connecting with her was her… new-age-ism. I personally work at a Traditional Chinese Medicine center, so it can’t be said I’m close-minded, but Fiona’s beliefs were out there, even for me. Don’t get me wrong, once she started to soften towards Fletch and their interactions increased, I was loving every minute of it, but I won’t lie and say it didn’t take me a bit of effort to get there. Now Fletch… he was a dream. Granted, he did a stupid thing in his youth but he more than made up for it since then. I loved everything about him and I’m putting him in my “2020 Top-Ten-Book boyfriend List”. He was smart, hardworking, sexy AF and caring. The way he was with his nephew just melted me into a puddle of goo. Did I mention he has a gym, is a firefighter and an EMS??? Ooops, my bad. Now you know just how dreamy he truly is. With great banter, hilarious shenanigans, two exceptionally good people and lots of sexy chemistry, I ended up loving Feisty and I enjoyed it greatly. Yes, it took me some time to get into the flow of the story, but once I did it was heaps of fun. I just wished we’ve gotten a “real” epilogue… you know, with babies and all that. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book*

Cute, dramatic story! Chris and Fiona were childhood nemeses and one of them never really outgrew that. This book definitely had some real world drama which throws these two back together again. It was a little New Agey for me, but I did enjoy both "Fletch" and "Feisty" together! The story is a lot more than the blurb suggests - some of it may be a little disturbing to read, but you find out how kicka** Fiona is!! This has been a fun series to read. If you want an enjoyable read and sweet, steamy romance - pick up this series. I voluntarily requested and read an uncorrected advance reader copy.

Julia Kent has a huge talent for creating worlds and groups of friends that I just love and want to be a part of. This group, just like the ones from the Billionaire and Random series, is totally wild and hilarious. Fiona shows how feisty she really is in the very first chapter when she takes down a guy trying to take one of her preschoolers. Her relationship with Fletch has been so tumultuous over the years. I love a good enemies to lovers romance because the tension is usually explosive and the banter is usually off the charts. Fiona and Chris had all that and more. These two are my favorites of the whole series. This book totally hit me in all the feels. The emotion is balanced with laugh out loud moments. I was hooked from the beginning and never wanted it to end.

I loved this book, but I’m not sure I can exactly put into words why I did. I know I should have expected it, it’s Fiona after all, but this story is a lot more… esoteric… than I was prepared for. There’s a lot of fascinating, obscure, deep thoughts that have gone into this book. And, I think some of those very deep thoughts kept the story from being as light and, dare I say it? “fluffy”? as I was thinking I was going to get. Chris is adorable. He’s probably just about as perfect as book boyfriends get. He was sweet, charming, caring, protective, and perfectly able to apologize for the wrong he’d done to her all those years ago. Now, seeing the lead up for the next book in the series, I’m dying to see how the author is going to make us love a character we’ve spent the last three books actively disliking. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

When a book hooks you from the start you just know its going to be great and so didn’t disappoint at all! It was very unique and definitely my kind of story! Feisty is so wonderfully feisty and the story was rather entertaining and real fun! Fiona aka Feisty is just that and then some! She is sassy, fierce, smart and just the whole package! As a child care educator, her ability to protect those children under her is nothing short of exemplary! She goes above and beyond and yes the start is heart stopping but draws you into the book! Ms Kent has woven her magic fingers and written an oscar worthy book! I just loved the banter and Fiona’s friends and everyone close to her! She has known Chris aka Fletch since forever and all of a sudden, after an experience that shows her life is short, she sees him in a new way! I absolutely love love loved this book so much! I laughed so much, I even shed some tears and thought this was the most amazing book and a brilliant addition to this fantastic series!

This book was EVERYTHING!! I have been in this weird reading funk for so long. This book really got me out of it! I could NOT wait until the next moment I could read, I even stayed up later two nights. I'm not sure I can say enough about it! I LOVE Fiona! I don't think we got the full experience of who she was in the last few books, but we got to see a little more of her spiritual side in Perky. I was super curious where that would lead us. I had NO idea this book would start out exactly where we were left at the end of Perky, but boy am I glad we did! Seeing Fiona as "Feisty" in the beginning of this book WAS SO EPIC!!! I cannot explain how excited I was at Fiona going up against Mattie's dad!!! It was so amazing. Seeing Fiona be one with herself and use her energy the way she did was mesmerizing, I couldn't put the book down! Now, of course, we cannot forget about Chris in this moment!!!! I LOVED how he instantly went to help Fiona and Mattie. His instinct with Mattie was so adorable and then the level of care he had for Fiona was equally adorable. This was such a pivotal moment for these two. Fiona HATED Chris so much before this, and this really made her look at him as someone else. There was so much that Chris didn't know about Fiona and so much that Fiona didn't know about Chris. AND there was a lot that Fiona needed to learn about herself. That being said, holy guacamole, did these two have some INTENSE chemistry! I LOVED the sparks between these two every time we saw them. I also loved how intense their feelings were, even if she was ignoring hers. He as so sweet and caring to her. Add in friends who are trying to help defend you but also tell you to change, it made for an interesting time. And we can't have one of these books with SO much hysterics!! I died laughing throughout this entire book! Between the festival, the wedding meetings and the in betweens,I was constantly laughing. Mallory and Perky are the best friends, add in Will and some other characters and it just made for a party in book form!!! I CANNOT wait to see what's next and I'm dying to find out more about what happened in the epilogue!!

A Feisty little book. After what felt like a long wait, the third book in Julia Kent’s newest series of connected standalones has finally arrived. This is Fiona Gaskill and Chris Fletcher’s story. Feisty and Fletch to those who know them best. Especially themselves. Chris adorned Fiona with hers after she let fly with hands and feet when he tried to kiss her in 7th grade. Fiona was having none of that and taught Fletch a lesson he’d never forget. Pity it ended with her getting a stupid nickname. She hated it then and still does 17 years later. Fletcher isn’t in her graces either, but times are about to change. Oh, yes they are! All Fletch wanted way back when was a kiss. A simple kiss and what did he get for his trouble. A black eye. And a kick up the backside. Still, it didn’t stop his crushing on that Feisty girl and he’s still carrying that torch today. This was a sweet and sexy story, with a touch of vulnerability and seriousness to it. I enjoy rom/coms and I adore Julia’s writing, so what’s not to love. This book, although a standalone is set in the same timeline as Fluffy and Perky, and has characters from those two books as Fiona is friends with both their main heroines. These three women are as close as sisters and it’s through Mallory and Perky that Fiona comes to re-assess her attitude to life. Will that assessment include forgiving Fletch, and giving him a chance to get back in her good graces? I loved every heart-warming minute of this book and thoroughly recommend it to old and new fans alike. Now, we just have to wait for book 4 and Hasty to make her appearance.

This book! You absolutely can not read this book without laughing. And I'm not talking about a chuckle here and there - nope, I'm talking laugh out loud at things funny enough that you'll think about them later and laugh again. That's not to say that it doesn't have it's more serious moments. In fact, one such very serious topic is touched on, and Julia Kent handled it terrifically while still managing to get in some well-timed wit. The romance between Fiona and Fletch is a combination of fun and swoon-worthy, and these two have terrific chemistry. I always love the rapid-fire wit and hilarious situations in this author's books, and there's no shortage of those here, so this is another fantastically fun read to add to the growing collection of fun reads by Julia Kent.

Fiona "Feisty" reunites us with Perky, Parker, Will and Mallory..and Chris "Fletch" Fletcher.. along with all of the pre weddiing rituals Mallory has and wants. Fiona is a pre-school teacher and the book opens as an incident happens at the school between Fiona and Rico the father of one of her students. She immediatly goes into protection mode and does what ever it takes to protect the kids in her class. Once again she is face to face with Fletch...she still doesn't like him after he tried to kiss her back in grade school and she took him out at which time he gave her the name "Feisty"...she doesn't want to admit that she really does like him!!! Because she saves the children she is thrust into the spotlight and into spending more time with Fletch. Will she finally accept that she is "feisty" along with loving, caring and funny. Will she and Fletch finally get together? This book has some so funny moments, ones that have you saying did that just really happen (incent in the cabin with Will and Mallory). Oh yeah and Mallory's sister Hastings!!! I so enjoyed their story and can not wait for more books from Julia Kent. I want to thank Julia Kent for giving me the opportunity to read and ARC of this book before it's release.

I didn’t know that I needed to read this until I did! Such a great story!! Julia Kent is an AMAZING writer and I’m so glad that I continuously pick up her books to read! In this book, Feisty, she writes an Enemies to Lovers storyline that had me giggling and full out laughing, it was incredible while also being realistic and relatable. While also having such strong friendships and bonds..just great! Chris and Fiona are just such great characters that I wish their story could just go on forever. I may not have read the other books in the series, but they can definitely be read as standalones and I will be reading the others soon! * I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.*

Feisty contains laughter, friendship and ultimately a great love story, this book in the series does contain some heavy issues that are very pertinent in our headlines today. Fiona "Feisty" works at a preschool and right at the beginning of the story an angry father shows up with a gun. While no one is seriously injured, thankfully, Chris "Fletch" appears on the scene, as one of the paramedics to the rescue. Feisty isn't exactly happy to see Fletch again, as she dropped kicked him back in the 7th grade when he tried to kiss her. Her embarrassment over the nickname he gave her has stuck like glue ever since and she's done a lot of avoiding him because of it. This leads to our next heavy topic, that I believe Julia covered extremely well, the issue of when no means no at any age. It's been years since Fiona and Chris have spent any sort of time together, mostly because she has been avoiding him like the plague, but the universe now has other plans and keeps putting them together, this finally brings them to the long overdue discussion of first an apology and second boundaries. This part is very well written and still keeps the story moving along. Even with heavy topics throughout the book, Feisty clips along at a quick pace, the chemistry between them is strong, but it is a very slow burn. This can be read as a standalone.

This series is so much fun. This book is no exception and so far is my favorite. Chakras, vibrations and bears, oh, my! Feisty and Fletch find their way to each other, in-spite of taco ratios. Have a good time with this read. No need to read the previous books, but they would add to the story. Top of your TBR list.

Feisty is the story of Fiona (Feisty) and Chris (Fletch). After dropkicking Fletch in the seventh grade when he tried to kiss her, Fiona earned the nickname Feisty, and has resented him for it since. Years later, after going through a traumatic experience, Fletch helps her, and Fiona has to decide if it's really worth still hating him. Maybe she should date him, instead? The books in this series are always easy reads, with each one incorporating characters and details from the past books. Fiona is not as out there as say, Perky - but she has her own quirks and was still fun to read. I look forward to reading the next one!
