Truth packed, yet non-condemning. Hits home-- highlighted many passages as I identified with so many of the detailed struggles and thought patterns outlined in each chapter. I love the action steps at the end of each chapter to live out my fierce faith. Also, the nuggets boldly written in the margins are awesome quotes easily memorized and shared. I will be chewing on this book for awhile.. something I will read over and over and have each of my teenage daughters read as well.

This book is a great read for those that struggle with anxiety and fear. That would be all of us, right? This book put some great points into perspective regarding fear of failure in our work, motherhood and life in general. This book is full of scriptures to back up the message and personal stories from Allí and how she overcome those situations of fear and anxiety. My favorite quotes from throughout the book are: "Making ourselves busy is one of the most common and most dangerous coping mechanisms we use to avoid the things in our lives that stress us out" "The root of your busyness might be the seed of fear you've down in your heart" (ouch!) "Blaming others when we feel anxious or worried is a common coping mechanism" "If we have habits that are directly related to stressful situations in our lives, and they are not renewing or restoring us, then we need to recognize those choices as warning signs of unaddressed fear" "Procrastinators are excellent buriers" "FOMO, fear of missing out" "God-given healthy fear protects us from harm" I would recommend this book to anyone as fear is a real thing that we all deal with, some on a daily basis. But when we have the right tools to deal with it, properly and with God in us and with us, it is easier to overcome. Disclaimer: I was given an advance copy readier no in lieu of an honest review. All opinions are my own

What I have loved about this book is the way that Alli speaks to exactly what I have felt. I have struggled with anxiety for several years, and she nails it on the head...the thoughts, the feelings, everything. Not only does she know how I am feeling, but she gives concrete and practical advice about how to kick anxiety and fear to the curb! This is definitely a book for Bible believing Christians, so if you do not fall into that category you might not enjoy it. I do and I have. :)

For the better part of my life I have battled depression and anxiety. With that said, I have read numerous books to help me understand where it comes from. What I loved about Fierce Faith was the practical, "but how" battle plans that Alli Worthington laid out. Chapter Seven - the Fear of Betrayal [what if I get hurt again] - jumped out at me and caused me to extend a few, "I'm sorry I don't treat you like I trust you" texts. Alli's writing style is conversational, and there is a piece of us all in the stories she shares. Do the hard work of sitting with the Action Steps at the end of each chapter and you will find yourself ready for battle.

Just so you know, this is not a philosophy text about struggling with fear and doubt. This is a grit-your-teeth, make-a-plan, FIGHTING kind of book. If you're an Eeyore type, preferring to lay down and wallow, you probably won't like this book. This is a book that is seeped in Gospel-centered inspiration and real-living practicalities. It encourages you to face those fears with the armor of God (particularly that shield!) Yes, we all have worries and anxiety that can paralyze and twist our guts into sailor knots. The difference between finding joy and peace and, well, NOT, is what we DO with those knots. I love how Alli gets down to our level (honestly, many Christian authors prefer to stay clean of the whole "sin makes life suck" thing) and provides the gentle Scriptural prodding we need to call out to Christ, cling to his word, and start. walking. forward. out of the Anxiety Forest. I mean, honestly, who can't relate to chapters like these? What If They Don’t Like Me? Fear of Rejection What If the Kids Aren’t Okay? Fear for Our Children What If I Can’t Do This? Fear of Failure What If I Get Hurt Again? Fear of Betrayal What if Everyone Has Fun Without Me? Fear of Missing Out What If Things Fall Apart? Fear of the Future What If I Never Measure Up? Fear of Not Being Enough What If I Can’t Trust God? Fear That We Are on Our Own Ah, yes please! I have felt each of those Worry Warts. If you've ever struggled with fear and anxiety, I can't recommend this book enough. It puts meat on the bones of the pithy phrase "Let Go and Let God". As if life is as simple as a bumper sticker, anyway! As my kids are growing bigger and bigger, and I find my ability to control every aspect of their life (correction, THINK I control every aspect...) fly out the window like a super motivated sparrow, this book (particularly the chapter on Fear for my Children), reminded me of the numerous times in the Bible God has tenderly cared for motherly fears (case in point, Jochebed and Moses). Alli points you to Scripture in every chapter, which makes my heart happy because I know these are GOD'S PROMISES that I can rely on. Great for men, women, students... pretty much every Christian, honestly, at any age. I could also see this being a great book to use in a group discussion, since there are questions to consider (or journal over) at the end of every chapter and a really great Battle Plan workbook at the end of the book to use. Very highly recommend!

This is SUCH a helpful and relevant book chock-full of applicable advice on how to fight fear and anxiety through faith. I loved Alli's first book Breaking Busy and knew that this one would be no different (props for alliterative titles too, girl!) -- it was fresh, helpful, fun to read, both light and deep at the same time, and really just a powerhouse book for women. Each chapter addressed a new question that I think every one of us worries about at some point, and included such easy to remember lists of tools and reminders for how to fight back and find freedom. If you aren’t a person who loves lists, this might not be the book for you, but I know so many of Alli's strategies here will be game changers for me personally! Thanks to BookLook Bloggers for sending me this one.

This book is a God-send! I can attest that it has helped me replace fear and all the lies that it tells us with faith in a big God! It's broken some things off my life, y'all. Alli is the real deal and you will LOVE this book. If you need freedom from anxiety, you need this book.

Alli has shared her thoughts, feelings and actions with us in such a beautiful, honest and humble way. She’s allowed us to peek into her life in a personal way as she shares not of herself but of her husband, children other family and friends. Her words are encouraging, uplifting and challenging...pushing us as women to stand in the truth God gives that with our faith in Him we can conquer worry, anxiety, and any other tactic that enemy tries to bring against us. Love Love Love the book!!

After Alli’s book, Breaking Busy, I was super eager to read Fierce Faith. The theme of doing less overtook much of my 2016 and even 2017... until we moved to a totally new city. And then fear was a part of my everyday life. Getting my hands on Fierce Faith has been pivotal in how I think about the unknown after moving, as well as how I respond to the fears I feel. With the tools Alli shares for overcoming anxiety and the personal experiences herself, this book could not have come at a better time in my life. It is quickly becoming my “go-to” when talking with friends about how stressful life can be and it’s become a source of good conversation for my husband and I together. I HIGHLY recommend reading this book if you are facing any fears in your life!

Fierce Faith is not just any book about fear, anxiety, and worry. This book by Alli Worthington takes you through some of the situations where she has dealt with fear, worry, and anxiety. Alli breaks down each chapter and helps readers to put a plan into action. Reading through Fierce Faith made me feel like I was walking right beside an encouraging friend who has been there and gone through the similar situations. If you are someone who deals with anxiety, worry, or fear, this book is definitely a must read.

As a woman and mom of 5 who has struggled with anxiety for many years, I have read many books, and prayed many prayers in an attempt to “make it better”. I am a big fan of Alli Worthington’s Breaking Busy and was excited to see what she wrote about worry and anxiety. Alli Worthington is funny, realistic, and definitely has a way of turning checklists into memorable chunks. Her book differs from others in that it is meant to be dog eared, highlighted, referred to. You can tell she is passionate about equipping women with the tools to overcome worry and anxiety. She shares her stories, her experience, but she makes sure the reader can duplicate a fighting response to their fear and worry. This was such a blessing to read and will stay on my nightstand for months to come. I purchased a copy from the publisher in advance. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fierce Faith Review “Our own fear of failure isn’t the fear of failing in and of itself; it’s that we fear what the results of that failure might be: rejection, loss, financial destruction, and loneliness. But what if… What if even in the big things we could believe that failure is the rich soil where our faith grows? And most importantly, what if we believed God doesn’t see our failures, but sees our future and holds it in his hands?” Alli Worthington does an amazing job connecting to readers in a way that reminds us we are not alone in this battle against fear, worry, and anxiety. Through funny anecdotes and appropriate scripture application, Alli demonstrates that we have one of the best “Battle Plans” around…we need to lean into the “truth that God is good; he does good in our lives; and he will give us the strength to come out on the other side victorious.” When we find ourselves unable to wrestle through the scary side of our “what ifs”, we have to shift our gaze to the God who sees the scary side, the anxious side, and the worry-filled side and proclaims his victory over our lives. By filtering our “what ifs” through the victory found in the cross, we are able to fight the lies and stand in the victory with Jesus. Each chapter ends with “Action Steps” and the “Battle Plan” pages at the end are an amazing resource. Plus some of them are able to be downloaded and you can create your own “Battle Plan.” As someone who journals and likes to see how I process through my doubts and fears, this is awesome because I can create a new “Battle Plan” whenever I need one! This book can be used as an individual or group study book as well. It also transcends stages of life, meaning someone in college, mid-30s and single (that’s me!), married with kids, or empty nesting, would all benefit from the book.

When I became a mother, I feared everything. In her new book, Fierce Faith, Alli Worthington says, "Fear is a liar. It speaks over us so convincingly, we believe that something terrible is certain to happen, even in the absence of any evidence whatsoever. Fear turns our what-ifs into certainties, freezing our faith and flipping our world upside down." Do you struggle with fear, worry, or anxiety? Fierce Faith is a must read! Alli knows fear. She is right there with us and walks us through how to fight fear and overcome anxiety with a deep, fierce faith. "By worshiping, trusting, and praising God, you are telling the enemy loud and clear that you are not a woman to be messed with."

I loved this book! My word for 2018 is Brave and this book was just what I needed to read in preparation. It felt like Alli was speaking straight to me. So much truth, exposing of Satan's lies, encouragement, and reminders of who I am in Christ. This will be a permanent fixture on my shelf and be re-read whenever I want to be reminded that fear should not have a hold on me because of the power I have in Christ.

This book gives words to the fears so many individuals face, along with the discomfort, hesitance, and pain they haven't been able to identify as fear. With relatable stories, biblical examples, and concrete steps to help readers cope with different types of fear, this book is a vital tool to empower and embolden a fierce new breed of woman.

I finished Fierce Faith by Alli Worthington this week and loved it. I'm a big fan of hers after reading Breaking Busy last year. She's a great writer and she is very relatable. She's a busy mom of 5 boys. I love her advice, her wisdom and her perspective. She really has a compelling story for developing a fierce faith, bouncing back from failures (because they happen to everyone) and she talks a lot about self care. The text reads like conversation with a friend. You feel an instant connection and will find yourself nodding along as she addresses fear, worry and anxiety that many women deal with. I think single women, married women and moms would all enjoy this book. The book touches on very relevant topics like parenting, social media, friendships, relationships, jobs and real problems that women face every day. You'll find yourself flying through this book and taking notes in the action step sections at the end of the chapter. This would be a great book to do in a book club or as a Bible study. Worthington is regularly quoting scripture, Biblical character references and always tying her message back to the Gospel. She makes the Bible characters come to life and seem very relevant today. You find yourself wanting to turn to the Bible to refresh yourself on some of the stories she recounts. I'd highly recommend this book.
