When misunderstandings and unsavory characters get in their way, Ellen and Jag call it quits after nine years of being together. Now they find themselves in places with which they're unaccustomed: Ellen is trying to get used to the idea of dating another man, having never gone out with anyone other than Jag, while Jag is coping with an injury and the loss of baseball, a game he's played for most of his life. Neither is sure how to handle their new situation, but they're dealing.
When a surprise trade lands Jag right back in the middle of things and right back into Ellen's life, new boyfriend and all, can he keep his cool and prove to her that what they once had is what's right? Does Ellen still carry a torch for her first love or has she already fallen for her new baseball player, making it too late for them to start again?
The fight is on as Jag goes head-to-head with Ellen's new love interest as he tries proving to her that their love deserves another shot. Can he win her back or is their dream of a perfect forever gone for good?

I absolutely loved this trilogy, however, I wish the ending would have been written differently. I feel Harper should have made the story longer to get into more detail in the ending of the story. I highly recommend this trilogy to everyone. At times I was laughing out loud and at times I was cryingblike a baby then next I'm all hot and bothered because the sex is so freakin smokin hot. Lol.
I've finally made it to my arc of Finally Us, the third book in the True Love series by Harper Bentley. If you've read my review of book 1 and book 2 you know it was an emotional ride to get me here. I love these characters even if half the time I want to smack them around a bit. I've loved this series and rated the other two books high as well, but I have to say book three was my absolute favorite of the series. I'll admit these types of books aren't normally my reading style, but for some reason I just fell in love with this series. It happens on occasion that I find something completely out of my box and enjoy it. I mean there aren't even any kidnappings for the COMPLETE three books; yes, I found myself sucked in regardless. There was just so much I loved about Finally Us. The first part being this book is written in duel points of view which I think was greatly needed to help end the series. Plus I loved being back in Jag's head a bit as well. The story in general brought out a ton of emotions from me while I was reading. In any other book, in any other situation I probably would have hated Ellen in Finally Us. She does some stuff that I just did not agree with... at all. But I could never bring myself to really get mad at her (well until a bit in the end). You see I understood where El was coming from. I agreed with her, Jag had kind of been an ass in the last few books. I don't think it was intentional on his part (goes back to that he didn't get it thing), but I could see how that would make El hesitant. El doesn't know she's in a romance book, she doesn't know that she's going to end up with Jag b/c as our hero he'd pull his crap together. All she knew was that she'd been with Jag for NINE years and in all that time he hadn't done a lot of show his support for her. El realized she needed to take some time to figure out who she was as a person. So much of her life had been about Jag, who was Ellen? I'm glad she took some time to figure this stuff out and decide where she really stood. There were just so many ways that Jag had let her (and us the readers) down. Jag said a lot of really great sounding things, he had all the right words, but in the end his actions didn't support what was coming out of his mouth. Jag had a lot to make up for and I was so glad when he finally got it and understood his actions. Jag really actually finally understands where he went wrong earlier in the story and sets out to remedy that. There does come a point in the story where I was like, "okay, this has gone on long enough, put us out of our misery." and thankfully Harper Bentley did not soon after. The drama angst never reached a point where I was just fed up with it. There was a weird little twist in the end that I was not expecting and overall could have done without, but it doesn't really effect anything too much. I think Finally Us was a great ending to the series, it really was my favorite. Like I said these books just get to me, they suck me in. I read this book in one sitting, once I started there was just no way I could have put it down. I had to see how it all ended. If you haven't already, you must check out this series. Both Trish and myself have rated it highly that should speak volumes for it and bump it up your list.
I can't tell you how happy I am that El and Jag finally go their happily ever after. I've been waiting for this book!!! I was so excited when it came out hehe After all the crap El and Jag went through, I'm glad they learned from their mistakes and found just how deep their love really went. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series. So much angst, so many obstacles, so many misunderstandings, so much selfishness... and in the end... so much growth, so much love, so much happiness. If you haven't read this trilogy, you should pick it up now... unless you don't like drama and angst. Then this may not be up your alley. But to me, this series really was awesome.
