Overview

Fire and Rain by Elizabeth Lowell

An Elizabeth Lowell Classic. First time in eBook.

Carla McQueen had loved Luke MacKenzie since she was fourteen and first introduced to the Rocking M Ranch. Now she was seven years older...and still in love with a man who thought of her as his best friend's kid sister.

Luke MacKenzie was haunted by the Rocking M's legacy of grinding women into dust, leaving behind bewildered children and lonely men as hard as the wild canyons and ridges of the ranch. Luke has vowed never to marry--the bitter legacy of the Rocking M will end with him.

Planning to purge her system of Luke, Carla comes to the Rocking M for the summer--only to fall more deeply in love with him. Luke looks at her and sees a woman he wants until he burns. But to have her, he'll have to choose between her and the ranch that is part of his soul...

I have the original paperback copy of this book, but I am about to purchase it on Nook. Why? Because, I remember reading it many years ago: how much I liked the characters, how I truly enjoyed the story and the emotions it awoke in me. It is an amazing book, one that I highly recommend!

Although I am no reviewer, I have read close to a hundred love sotries and this one 'along with the mckenzie series' has always capture my heart. Ms. Lowell kept the story strongly between the two lovers. With a little imagination, its not hard to feel what its like to be a part of the story. A MUST READ ROMANCE BOOK!!!

Excellent book. Luke and Carla's story really draws you in. I re-read this one at least once a year.

I just started reading this author last week, my first book was Winter Fire. I read two others on Sunday. I started this one last night and could not put it down. All of her books draw me in and I just want to keep reading to finish it. Luke and Carla are wonderful characters and the chemistry between them is electrifying. They are both stubborn and determined in there own ways. I have not been disappointed by any of her books yet, and I plan to read them all! I am starting Enchanted today!
