A brand new romantic comedy from New York Times bestseller Tessa Bailey!

Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a Woman of the World... whatever that means.

Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)

Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (fyi, leggings are pants.)

Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)

Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)

Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite.

Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his… bat. And then there's Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme—that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job—he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real. But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her...

About the Author

New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Hot ex-baseball player, spunky party clown, family friends. What else could you want? Great read from an amazing author. Couldn’t put it down!

I recently discovered Tessa Bailey with "Getaway Girl" and I am now a fan. Of course I jumped at the chance to review her latest book, "Fix Her Up" and it was everything I wished for. Georgie and Travis's story was sweet and funny and steamy. They are both trying to break from the molds they have been stuck it throughout their lives: Travis the charming player and Georgie the kid sister who won't grow up in her family's eyes. They find a way to help each other grow into the people they want to be. Read this book if you need a romantic pick me up. Read this book if you enjoy some really well-written steam with a great plot. Read this book if you've recently discovered Tessa Bailey and can't get enough of her writing. Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this romance novel! A retired baseball player and his best friend's sister reach an "agreement" to date one another to improve both of their images. In the process, they fall in love and have a lot of steamy sex! You'll love it...I promise!

I absolutely loved this book. The slow burn was realllll but once the flame was lit... DAMN it was STEAMY. Georgie was by far my favorite character. I loved her strong, blunt personality. I related to her in so many ways especially with her adventure in growing her confidence and leadership qualities. Travis is the guy all the girls want or perhaps I should say all the girls HAD. With a rather popular reputation with the ladies, it is Georgie who ultimately challenges him to rise above his childish ways and face his many fears. My only critique of this book is that when it ended I was like what the heck... THAT'S IT? I was definitely left wanting more and NEEDING more. Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins for allowing me to read an ARC of this wonderful book in exchange for honest review.

This book is everything! I mean we had a best friends brother situation, fake dating, a professional athlete and his fall from stardom, a virgin and a man-whore, interesting family dynamics and side characters, the Just Us League and more. Tessa Bailey is quickly becoming a favorite author for me and this book was even better than I was hoping it would be! I can’t wait for Rosie and Dominic’s story! #FixHerUp

Don't let the cover fool you, y'all - this book is packing a lot of heart and a lot of STEAM. This was my first Tessa Bailey novel, but it's certainly not going to be my last (especially because I already know there's a companion/sequel to Fix Her Up coming out!). The main thing that stood out about this book was the chemistry between Georgie and Travis - and how real they were with one another. I will never, ever, ever, in my entire life, get over the scene where she throws old lo mein at him while he is sleeping (sans clothes, mind you) and then tells him to get over himself and man up. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's the first chapter - what a spectacular way to get a feel for a character's personality! Travis is down on his luck, and he's feeling it. Georgie is doing well for herself but wants more, both professionally and personally. Watching their dynamic change from the one they had when they were children (Georgie as the pesky younger sister of Travis' BFF) to an adult dynamic filled with trust, protectiveness, love, and hope was really great to read and I enjoyed every part of it. The sex scenes were, as previously mentioned, um, well, STEAMY. Having not read Tessa Bailey before, I had no clue going in (that cover got me, I won't lie). They were all fun and interesting, but some of them seemed a bit implausible or unnecessarily filled with dirty talk - and some of the dirty talk seemed a bit out of place. It wasn't even that the words themselves were bothersome, it would just go from lukewarm to filthy in a span of seconds ... with her entire family in the next room? After her mother played wingwoman and sent Travis out to check on her? (i.e. Do dirty things to her in the shed out back while the rest of the family is finishing dinner??) Had certain scenes been set up a bit differently, this wouldn't have been an issue for me (and it didn't seem to be an issue for others I know that have read it, so I might be overly critical here). Overall, it's a book that I recommend and think would be perfect for summer! I might even have to find a few more Tessa Bailey's for my own beach day reads ;)

Don't let the cartoon cover or slow burn fool you, this is classic Tessa Bailey! I'll admit, at first I didn't think this was going to be what I expected, but it definitely still has all the same elements. There's the spunky heroine, Georgie who is the youngest child, a professional clown, and wants her family to take her seriously. There's the alpha male, Travis, a former pro baseball player who is Georgie's older brother's best friend wants to prove he isn't a failure. (He's also the best dirty talker.) There's hilarious banter; i.e. Dale. Then there's some seriously hot steam. I loved the way that Georgie and Travis's relationship evolved from a friendship to fake relationship to each realizing that this was something real for them. I also really enjoyed how they seemed to bring out the best in the other and how they just got each other. The ending was just so good-hearted and cute. I love the way that Travis is trying so hard to explain everything before it blows up in his face and how they didn't actually have a problem communicating with each other, but more so withe rumors being spread by everyone else. This one is light, fluffy, and fun; the perfect summer read! Thank you to Avon Books and Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Hot Read! Georgie is a spirited young woman who gets the chance to date her crush. Travis is doesn’t believe in happy endings. This story is a rocking load of hilarious fun. It is also full of heated scenes between Travis and Georgie that is enough to singe the pages. The author has brought the characters and story to life using fun and flirty banter that keeps the plot flowing smoothly and effectively. Tessa Bailey has hit a high note with this story.

This was cute and fluffy and exactly what I wanted. This is the first in a series so there is some build up for the next books which was fine, but kind of took away from the main couple. My favorite thing about this was how funny this was and the banter between the characters. I got a little bored with the ~drama~ at the end so I just sort of sped read through it. Overall, this was a fun romance novel that I flew through, but isn't going to be one of my all time faves. *Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review*

Some parts of this book from Travis' point of view felt a little too patriarchal for my liking -- Travis' need to let Georgie's brother in on their relationship, the mention of his refusal to look her father in the eye, etc. However, I loved how natural the relationship felt between Travis and Georgie as it unfolded! Georgie is an incredible character, and I loved the parts of the book that weren't focused on their relationship -- her relationship with her sister, her friends, her driven career goals. It made the book feel that much more real. I absolutely devoured it!

4 1/2 "Baby Girl" Stars!! Holy Smokes!! I'm still fanning myself as I type this review. Fix Her Up was such a pleasant surprise for me. I've read Tessa Bailey before and enjoy her writing style. However, judging from the cover, I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Let's just say, even though the cover may not perfectly fit the story, I still love it. It's a good depiction of the sweet side of their relationship. Once you get into the book, you can experience the hot and steamy side and I assure you it is smoking hot. Travis is a former professional baseball star whose career was abruptly cut short because of an injury. He's recently moved back to his home town and is wallowing in misery over his lost career. Georgie is the youngest sister of Travis' best friend. She has followed Travis' baseball career faithfully and has secretly had a crush on him since she was a teenager. Georgie is a clown (yes, really) and is hoping to grow her party planning business into an entertainment company that does parties for all age groups not just the "under five' crowd. Travis and Georgie end up faking a relationship with individual goals in mind. Travis needs to clean up his womanizing reputation in hopes of getting a new job as an announcer for a baseball team and Georgie wants her family and the town to take her seriously and stop treating her like a child. What neither of them count on is falling in love. Travis has never had a girlfriend. He's only ever had one night stands and Georgie has never had sex so they are quite a pair. They quickly become protective of one another though and to me that was the sweetest thing. Travis was furious when her family ignored her and discounted her opinion. Likewise, Georgie was livid when fans and/or reporters made Travis feel like he wasn't worth anything as a person. All along you knew Georgie had a crush, but you saw her truly falling in love with Travis. She fell in love with the real Travis who did kind things for her, encouraged her and stood up for her. Meanwhile, even though he tried to fight it, Travis fell in love with Georgie too. She basically crawled into his heart and took up residence. Oh and don't even get me started on his dirty talk during sex or that he nicknamed Georgie "Baby Girl." My heart just pitter patters all over the place. I noted that another book is in the works for this series and I look forward to it. I thought the secondary characters in Fix Her Up were great so hopefully there will be plot lines for several books. My only disappointment was the lack of an epilogue, but it makes sense that we will get followup with these characters in the subsequent books. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for providing me with this ARC.

My first Tessa Bailey, but not my last! Fix Her Up is a fun romantic comedy with an older brother’s best friend trope (one of my favorite). While Georgie and Travis initially come together for a mutually beneficial fake relationship, it never feels that way, and honestly they were kidding themselves from the beginning. Georgie wishes for her family (and others in their small town) to treat her and see her like the adult she is; Travis is coming off of a career-ending injury and finds himself needing an image remake in order to land a job as a baseball commentator. Thus the basis of their "relationship" is born. There were times I wish the characters were a little more fleshed out (Travis’ backstory in particular), but they both had clear voices and reasons for why they chose to enter into a farce. It's clear they both feel something more than friendship for each other and in the end they seem to hide the truth from themselves more than anyone else. Once they get together it is steamier than the cover leads you to think. I like that the cute and fun dynamic that started their friendship didn't disappear though. Georgie's family served as great side characters, even if at times they seemed a little self-involved (at least in regards to her) and over the top. I am glad to see that this will be a series, as we are introduced to others, such as Rosie, who clearly have stories to be told. (And, I believe Rosie's is the next one we will get.) Of course, our main characters suffer from the requisite misunderstanding that leads to the big gesture of every rom com movie and book out there, but I didn't mind it as we all read these to get to that happily ever after. I received an advanced copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.

A delightful romantic comedy, with famous playboy Travis Ford fighting off developing feelings for the forbidden best friends little sister. Georgie Castle is all grown up and trying to get everyone, especially her family, to take her seriously. What starts off as a hoax to benefit both parties, quickly turns in to so much more. A great story that you won't be able to keep a straight face while reading. The secondary characters are just as entertaining and lovable. I can't wait for more in this series!

I love, love, love this book! There's so much to rave about! First of all it's a friends to lovers romance which already has my attention. The main characters, Travis and Georgie, both finding themselves wanting more from their lives -- and not even in the romance department. They both need to shatter the labels that have been put on them. For Travis, that label is the playboy, bad boy, ex-baseball star who has nothing to fall back on career wise. For Georgie it's the naive, little sister, birthday party clown (yes, that's her job). But Travis has his sights on a respectable position that would still have him involved in the game he loves and Georgie wants to expand her birthday party business into a full blown party planning and entertainment company. They each need to face the expectations and limits that people have put on them so they come up with a plan to do so together. This book is so much more than a swoony romance. It's also a story that celebrates girl power, second chances, and redemption. I don't know how Tessa Bailey does it but she packs so many great themes and good material into one book! Oh, and did I mention the steam factor? This book is not for the faint of heart...have a fan and a cold beverage with you when you read because Travis Ford is going to heat things up! Tessa Bailey is the queen of writing strong, steamy men who aren't afraid of telling a woman exactly what he wants in the bedroom (or on the couch, or in the limo...but I digress). The dialogue in her sex scenes is out of this world and it takes her writing to a whole other level for me. Do I enjoy a steamy scene? Yes I do. Do I enjoy a steamy scene with some fantastic dialogue and a man who takes charge? Abso - %*&^ing - lutely! Fix Her Up is undoubtedly a 5 star read for me. I really hope you'll pick it up for a story that will make you laugh, blush, swoon, and smile. Heartfelt thanks to @NetGalley, @avonbooks, and @tessabaileyisanauthor for a digital ARC. All opinions are my own.

Oh this book made me smile, it made me laugh, it made me giggle, and if you enjoy a good rom-com, then this will quickly become your jam. You will never think about Tom Hanks the same again, or men named Paul, especially strippers name Paul. The comedy is strong, unexpected, fresh, and fun And the romance, the romance made me swoon, made me gasp, made me cry. Because Travis and Georgie need each other, more than they can ever guess, more than they could ever know. Until they do know, and they capture the beautifulness that is them, when it is almost too late. They refuse to give up on the other, and that means not giving up on themselves, because they are perfectly, and wonderfully, intertwined Perfection!

Wow, I love this one! Travis was one grouchy bear from the first moment we met him and it was fun to watch his interactions with Georgette. This one was just cute and Tessa know how to write her dirty talking hero's. Steam was off the charts. I'm already adding book 2 to my tbr! I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I can’t tell you how much I loved this book! I love it when I find a new author that I haven’t read before and immediately want to read everything that they’ve written. Tessa Bailey is definitely my new favorite author. This book sucked me in from the moment I read the first page. I literally started it and finished it within two days. Travis is the perfect brooding, alpha male who is back home after a baseball injury ended his career. Georgie is sweet, bubbly and plans children’s birthday parties; she’s takes it upon herself to get him out of his slump. Sparks fly when Travis realizes that Georgie is no longer his best friends kid sister and instead wants to “date” him for purely selfish reasons that will help both of them meet their end goals. Nothing wrong with that scenario right?! I love a childhood friends/fake romance trope and Tessa Bailey delivers. Sometimes when authors write secondary characters they get lost or are underdeveloped. This was not the case in this book. I loved learning about Rosie, Bethany and the girls club that they created. The scenes with these three were some of my favorites of the book and I can’t wait to read Bethany and Rosie’s stories. This book had it all - definitely the sizzling romance between Georgie and Travis, but also a sense of finding and believing in yourself, messy family dynamics and a great girls club to bond over. Thank you Tessa Bailey for writing an amazing book and for giving me a new author to binge read :) **ARC provided by NetGalley and Avon in exchange for my honest review*

I adored this book in every way possible. I love this author's work, and brother's best friend stories are my favorite trope! This one was especially delightful, and I could not get enough. Georgie Castle is a bit of an afterthought in her small town on Long Island, and even with her own family. As the youngest sibling, no one ever takes her, or her opinions, seriously. Plus, she's chosen a job as a children's party clown, so she's not really doing much to help her own cause. But, she loves kids, and she's great at what she does. She'd like to see her company expand, but to do that, she needs people to take her seriously as an adult businesswoman. But first, she has to use her own unique approach to get her big brother Stephen's best friend, and the guy she's loved since she was a kid, out of the horrible rut he's in. Travis Ford was an amazing professional baseball player who left their small town after making his own dreams come true in the major leagues. He lived the life, and sampled the benefits (including MANY of the female variety), over the 5 years of his career. But, when an injury sidelined him, and his teams started playing hot potato with him, he had to call it quits. Now he's back in town, and has been drinking himself into a month-long stupor. Until Georgie busts into his apartment, throws leftover Thai food at his head, and tells him his moping time is OVER. So, he talked to his best friend, Stephen, and started working for the Castle family remodeling business. He's trying to get his life back under control, and that really becomes imperative when his agent calls him with an amazing job offer. He could be the new commentator for the NYC baseball team, but the family friendly network isn't sure if he'd be a good fit. He needs to show them he's a changed man. Who better to help him promote a better image than the most wholesome girl he's ever met? Georgie and Travis had known each other a long time, but they each thought of each other in completely different ways. She's loved him forever, with no hope of anything ever happening between them. He's always seen her as his best friend's awkward kid sister, who constantly tagged along behind them. They haven't seen each other in person in years. He walked out of his parents house to go to college, and hasn't returned or spoken to them since. They were a hot mess and screwed him up badly. Stephen was really his only contact back home. Georgie never really had any interest in leaving, and she's built her business, and bought a home she plans to remain in. Georgie had an amazing family but she was always the odd girl out. They still see her as a kid, and they don't respect her as they should. Georgie, her sister, Bethany, and the wife of an employee of the family business, and a girl they went to school with, Rosie, start a self-empowerment group to keep each other motivated to reach their goals. They agree to start to let go of things and people that hold them back, or hurt them. Rosie and her husband Dom will be the main couple in book 2, and I'm SO EXCITED for their story. There was so much tension between Georgie and Travis, and watching them combust was magic. Travis' grovel at the end was particularly gratifying, and I loved Georgie's reaction to it, as well as her siblings' reactions. I was so emotionally full at the end of the story. I can't recommend it highly enough.

FIX HER UP is the first instalment in Tessa Bailey’s contemporary, adult HOT AND HAMMERED erotic, romance series. This is twenty-eight year old, former professional baseball player Travis Ford, and twenty-three year old, birthday clown Georgette ‘Georgie’ Castle’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Georgie and Travis) FIX HER UP follows the fake relationship trope between twenty-eight year old, former professional baseball player Travis Ford, and twenty-three year old, birthday clown Georgette ‘Georgie’ Castle. Travis Ford’s life has spiralled out of controlled since the career ending injury left him without a direction in life. Heading home with his tail between his legs Travis will come face to face with his best friend’s younger sister, a little girl who is now all grown up. When the second opportunity of a life-time is offered to our story line hero, Travis knows he has to clean up his act including his reputation as a man-wh*re, and a hit it and quit it serial dater. Enter Georgette ‘Georgie’ Castle, the woman who has offered to go along with a ‘fake relationship’ deal, in an effort to help Travis become the next big thing in baseball commentating. Georgie Castle has never been taken seriously by anyone in her family and her career choice as a birthday clown seems to solidify her family’s observations of their youngest child. Never taken seriously Georgie ventures off on her own only to realize that her relationship with Travis may have been a bigger ruse than she could have ever imagined. The relationship between Travis and Georgie is a best friend’s little sister / fake relationship that finds our couple considering that what ifs and whys of something more but Travis’ past refuses to die including the reputation that is constantly dragging him down. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate and intense. Travis likes to talk dirty to the woman with whom he will fall in love. We are introduced to Georgie’s family: brother Stephen and his wife Kristin; their sister Bethany, and their parents Morty and Vivian Castle; friends Rosie and her husband Dominic; and several small minded townies with long memories. 4 Grand Slam stars!!I love Tessa Bailey's style! This story is equal parts adorable, sexy, sweet, witty and steamy. It was a pleasure to read! I love the fake relationship trope and this is honestly such a good one! I just adore Georgie! She is funny, sweet and so innocent when it comes to relationships, but she has had it bad for Travis since she was a young girl. She is self supporting and driven and has a fun and quirky career that she is trying to turn into an entire business. She has not been very well supported by her family though. Travis is a former baseball star/player and may not my favorite person at first, but he goes a long way to redeem himself and make me love him, thanks to Georgie! He, unlike her family, really sees her, even if it took a little bit. How could he not fall in love with her? Georgie and Travis are such a great couple and are simply magical together!

I had read a few of Tessa’s other books, but I loved the fake relationship coupled with the BFF’s little sister. I really liked Georgie. She’s sweet and maybe a little naive, yet she knows what she wants. She had an enormous amount of growth in this story and I couldn’t be happier to have read it. Travis was interesting. To me, he was pretty clichéd in the beginning, but he grew into something more. I’m still not really sold on anyone in Georgie’s family and their halfhearted attempts to not be jerks was somewhat feeble. Plot wise, it was mostly good. At times it felt simultaneously boring and like there were too many things happening. I was absolutely here for the fake relationship and I wish they would have talked just a little more. More often than than not, I was told instead of shown that they knew each other. And the surprise proposal felt a little forced, especially after only the short time of them fake dating. Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. And while I wanted more at the ending {like an epilogue}, I was satisfied enough. I’m definitely going to read the next one in the series. **Huge thanks to Avon Books for providing the arc free of charge**

This story is two of my favorite friend's little sister and a fake relationship! Georgette "Georgie" Castle is tired of everyone treating her like she doesn't matter. Just because she chose to be a children's party planner including dressing up as a clown, instead of working for the family's home renovations business, doesn't mean that she doesn't have a brain! Georgie decides she is going to change a few things in her life so that maybe for once she will actually be noticed. What she never expected was to be noticed by Travis Ford, her brother Stephen's best friend. Travis was the hot "it" player in the MLB until a career ending injury has sidelined him for good and thrown him into a self induced pity party. Growing up Georgie was always the little tag along bratty sister because she had a huge crush on Travis and if she was fully honest, she still did! When Georgie goes over to Travis place to force him out of his funk, she didn't expect to find him asleep, naked and his place a pig sty! After some fun banter back and forth, Georgie leaves but clearly she affected Travis because he finally decides to move on with his life....and he is thinking maybe he wants some more of Georgie in that life! As Georgie and Travis spend more time together, their friendship starts to take a different turn. When Georgie realizes that they both could give each other something that they both want, they come up with a fun plan. But just when it seems like this plan is working perfectly, feelings start to get in the way and feelings end up getting hurt because of demons from the past. It will take a huge leap of faith along with some unexpected moves for Georgie and Travis to get their happy ending but it is well worth the wait. Overall I loved this story! Two fun, flawed characters with such witty banter I found myself laughing out loud a lot as I read this book. The sexual chemistry these two shared was off the charts and their emotional connection brought tears to my eyes a few times.

4.5 Fun & Steamy Stars! I absolutely loved this new fun, and steamy romcom by Tessa Bailey. Travis only sees himself as a star baseball player. So when an injury ends his career, he feels like a failure, and doesn't know what to do with his life. Georgie has crushed on her brother's best friend since she was a kid. She will not let him believe he is worthless, when he is the world to her. Travis can't believe the way Georgie pushes him, but he likes it. The annoying little kid has grown into a sexy woman who stands up for him when no one else will. Now he wants nothing more than to help her achieve her dreams as well. I really fell for both Georgie and Travis. They were so supportive and protective of each other, helping them be their best. I loved their little quirks, their fun banter, and their chemistry was off the charts! What a great start to the Hot and Hammered series! I loved this funny, heartfelt, sweet & steamy romance!
