A captivating read, I had a hard time putting it down. The book is at once a digital age tale of market manipulation and a gritty story of the seedy, sadistic world of crime permeating all levels of society. Denison uses his superb gift of language to enrich the story, the New York setting and the characters, drawing the reader in to experience the events as a silent witness. Jake Rivett, a complex character, is dogged and highly successful in investigating and solving crimes, but one with an eclectic side as well woven well into the story line. I’m sure these traits will be further developed as Denison delights us with further installments.
