All of the Keeper books have been amazing so far, but this one has to be one of the best. The world Shannon Messenger has built is truly one of a kind, and this series has moved far, far out of the conventions of children's fantasy.

This is the best book series I know of and will probably be my fave even when I'm older. I am just so excited about it. I can't wait to hear if makes another one after this one. I hope she does. Also go Team Foster-Keefe!!!

I have enjoyed all of the keeper books. This one did not disappoint. But i really hate/love the cliffhanger endings. Having to wait for the next book is almost painful, but it also builds anticipation for the next wild ride. All the twist and turns and emotional ups and downs flow at a pace that never leaves you bored. All of the characters are so well developed i wish i could meet them in real life. A really excellent series!

Best book ever!! I finished it last night, and holy cow it was quite the rollercoaster of emotion. I love this book with all my heart, and while I'm dying to read the next one, I think I'm one of the few people who actually CAN wait because I trust Shannon Messenger to make it good! No revenge necessary! The cliffhanger is awesome, the Fitz story is awesome, the whole freakin' story is awesome. I fell in love with this series because Fitz and I are basically the same person (the short story only served to confirm that), and this book made me want to laugh, cry, squeal, and punch something all within 845 pages. If you haven't read this series, you need to. I personally love it more than anything, including Harry Potter. Outstanding job. The book wasn't at all like what I was expecting, but I love it all the same. Now I get to spend the next year rereading it a million times :)

I have been waiting for this book for so long and it FINALLY CAME OUT!!! I preordered the book and knew i was not the only one, so I did NOT expect to get the book so soon after its release. THE BOOK GOT ME WORKED UP! I went through an extensive and scary rollercoaster and UGH the cliff hangers make me want to SCREAM! This book series is definitely one of my favorites and if you're a fan, you'll love it. Sophie is so grown up and the entire story in general has surely grown more mature from the first book.

I finished reading Flashback yesterday, and I have to say I was very disappointed, especially since I liked the other books so well. Which is unfortunate because I REALLY tried and wanted to like this book. SPOILERS AHEAD! One thing that I liked was that the beginning immediately addressed the cliffhanger from Nightfall, which was a good start. But after that I instantly became bored when Sophie and Fitz ended up in the Healing Center for the following 300 pages after they got seriously injured in the fight with the Neverseen. It was a super slow start and not a very good way to set up the rest of the book. A lot of the stuff that happened in there could have easily been addressed while they were attending Foxfire or at Havenfield. Another thing I did't like was how little attention some of the other characters gt throughout the book. We barely saw Biana, Dex, Linh, and Marella at all. We did get to see more of Wylie and Tam, but their interactions with Sophie were limited and it felt like they were more part of the background. Although we saw Keefe more than the others, Sophie mostly forgot about him after she and Fitz became a thing, which was incredibly frustrating considering the solid relationship the two had built up over the previous books. Fitz was the only one we saw a lot of, and though I was happy to see more of his character, I didn't like that Messenger felt like she had to put significantly less focus on the other characters in order for that to happen. The plot with this book was also an issue, I still have no idea where this series is going and nothing big seemed to be accomplished in the 842 pages of the book. I'm becoming increasingly bored with the series because of the fact that we still don't know the Neverseen's motivation after SEVEN LONG BOOKS, and we don't know the purpose of the Black Swan either, plus another thousand little plot holes that need to be addressed at some point. The final thing that I'm going to mention is my frustration about Sophie's obliviousness to Keefe's feelings for her. With Dex she ignored his feelings because she didn't want to ruin their friendship, with Fitz she talked herself out of him liking her because she didn't want to get her hopes up. With Keefe she genuinely noticed nothing, even though she should have at least picked up that something wasn't right with him when he found out Sophie and Fitz became an actual thing. Especially since her character is supposed to be super perceptive and she know Keefe hides behind jokes and teasing when something's up with him. Plus, the way Sophitz happened just seemed weird to me. Like, they almost kiss and now suddenly they're a thing? I think it could have been handled much better, especially since we haven't really seen much relationship growth between the two of them since Neverseen. There should have been more build up for them, even though I think, (and hope) that Sokeefe will end up being canon, Messenger should have made the build up for Sophie and Fitz more solid, and made the part where they unofficially/officially became a thing a bit clearer and better. I really hope book 8 gives us a LOT more answers than this one did and I hope its much better than this.

My daughter, now 13, has been hooked (dare I say, obsessed) on the entire KOTLC Series for several years. She has turned countless friends into big fans as well. She loved this latest book and devoured it quickly. She is already dying for the next book... gonna be a long year of waiting!!! Kudos to the author. Been a great ride. Don't want it to end.

Wow this book was just wow. I’ve been reading KLC since it first came out and I’m still obsessed with it. First let me say that if you haven’t read this series you must!!! It’s incredible, both character devoloment and plot are well thought through, and the character development is just amazing, you see this girl Sophie and her friends just grow through out this series, especially Sophie. She grows a tremendous amount from start to present and I could say a lot more but I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone. It’s action packed and a lot of fun. In Flashback a lot happens, especially with team Fitzphie... you know what I mean. Honestly I wasn’t expecting that. I always felt like the Keefster would tell Sophie first, I wasn’t at all expecting Fitz. Also if you read the Keefe POV compared to the Fitz POV it’s defenate point for team Foster-Keefe. I’m pretty sure I know how this may end, but what I learned about this series is nothing is as it seems, so it may end well or really badly. Also the ending in this book that was just wow, totally not marking my calendar or anything for the next book hehe. *marks all of November for possible release dates for book 8* Oh and I’m also not for team Fitzphie I’m all for team Foster-Keefe! Long live Lord FunkyHair! And for those of you reading this you have no idea what I’m talking about, read it, you won’t be sorry :)

The two most important aspects of a book or movie for me are: an awesome plot and well developed, Likable characters. Ms. Messenger has created this amazing world with both plot and characters that are not only believable, but down to earth and inspiring. I'm still piecing together certain aspects of the overall plot...she hints at the Neverseen's motives and goals throughout the series, but I LOVE a challenge so I'm excited to see if what I've been thinking are accurate. Since Ms. Messenger is able to tell her story through a series instead of one book, she can use more time to develop her characters and the relationships between them, making them more of a team than a random bunch of characters thrown together, while still moving the plot along. I love this book because it is clean, yes there is some romance, but it's age appropriate for middle grades. Also she might hint that the characters are swearing, but she doesn't include swear words in her writing, which I LOVE because it's hard to find books for my children to read that are this clean. Sophie, the main character is what every strong willed girl could use as a role model. She's smart and is in control of herself and the choices that she makes, but she's not perfect. She makes mistakes and learns from them. She tries her best to do the right thing even when her choices seem daunting. She cares about others more than she cares about herself, which isn't very popular in society right now. She surrounds herself with friends that help rather than hinder her self esteem, an excellent thing for girls to think about considering how catty girls can be. Overall Flashback is a wonderful book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and can't wait to share with my kids. There is action, friendship, teamwork, drama, and an overall sense of staying true to yourself and choosing to do the right thing over what is deemed popular. I can't wait for the next one.
