For Emery He's everything you want in the boy next door. He's every dream. He's every teenaged hormone inducing wish you could ever have. Their friend was perfect but then she was gone. Years later, they aren't the same. Nothing is really. Both struggle with the past and the present in their own ways. But everything he does is For Emery, and hopefully it's enough. Sweet and all kinds of swoony, For Emery is soul boosting. It gives you the happy and an encouraging ending too!

Didn’t he get that he was my dream. Always had been. Always would be. I have loved every book that comes from J. Nathan. She has an extra special way with her words, story lines and characters. This is not just another friends to lovers story. It is more than that because it also does touch on the delicate subject of physical abuse. I felt that J. Nathan did an excellent job portraying how a child seeks comfort and safety in others. She nailed it when she showed the truth that many face when being afraid and trying to turn their life around. That even though there are those that will help sometimes, being able to do it yourself is the only way to freedom. For Emery, is told in dual POV and I love that when an author does that. Why? Because it allows us into the mind of both characters and for me, I generally can connect a lot easier if I understand both of them. For Emery, is also told both past and present, so we get to see the bond form between Emery and Jordan. Emery and Jordan childhood best friends and neighbors. Jordan is Emery’s safe place as she grows older, her feelings for Jordan progress. He is a few years older than her, but Jordan is drawn to Emery. It isn’t just their friendship that is bonding them together anymore. Jordan and Emery are falling in love. But circumstances change and Emery disappears from Jordan’s life, devastating him. Fast forward four years and Emery reappears in Jordan’s life. Can Jordan forgive her? Will Emery and Jordan pick up were they left off? Or are their other forces trying to keep them apart? Will the past become the future? I loved this from the first page to the last. The secondary characters add another layer to the story and of course its great too see some old ones! For Emery, will leave you satisfied and smiling. I love this series and look forward to reading more from J. Nathan. She is definitely and author you need to check out. Her stories are always so beautiful, exciting and her characters are well developed. I can’t get enough of her.

Emery was 8 years old when she moved in next door to 11 year old Jordan. She became his constant shadow and best friend for 6 years and then she disappeared without a word. Jordan went onto play football for Alabama just like he said he would. When Emery shows up at his University at the beginning of his senior year can Jordan forgive her enough to find out what happened all those years ago? The author took a heartbreaking story of domestic abuse and turned it into a beautiful story of love. J. Nathan created characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. The story flowed really well and I basically read it in one sitting. Loved that Emery was a strong woman despite her past. There are some great secondary characters and I am looking forward to checking out their stories too.

This is book 4 in the For You series and it features Emery Pruitt and Jordan Grady. Wow! This story is full of those deep-seated emotions that have to do with living in an abusive home. It also has to do with a friendship and love so deep it brings tears to your eyes to watch it. And that’s what it felt like when I was reading, that I was watching it. It’s those moments that are so profound that make you cry those happy tears. BRAVO J. Nathan! Thank you for writing such an amazing story. I loved EVERY minute of reading it. Fabulous, emotional story line with a great cast of characters. This is my first book by this author and I NEED to read the first three in the series now. If I don’t, I feel as if I’m missing out.

4 Stars Review by Sue Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog I was intrigued and invested in For Emery by J. Nathan. It is a story about moving on and not being afraid to ask for help when it's needed. Jordan Grady, from the very beginning, was sweet and romantic. Although he lost his way a little bit after losing Emery, he redeemed himself with flying colors. Emery never loses her way and was never shy to ask for help. She knew what she wanted and made the steps to follow through. The connection between Emery and Jordan was electric and felt real because it has a base of friendship, love and trust. One thing that I found was a little off was that Emery's mom was in real estate when she is trying to keep a low profile. Real estate agents normally plaster their faces and their listings in the papers and on social media. This, however, did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. This is the first book I read by this author and it certainly won't be the last.

I absolutely adore Emery and Grady and everything about their sometimes bumpy journey to a very special HEA that started when they were children. Except of course Wayne, but you’ll see what I mean when you read this amazing book. J. Nathan continues to give us wonderful characters with so much depth to fall in love with in this fantastic series. Grady is so sweet and charming and has always felt so much where Emery was concerned and so protective of her. Emery has always loved Grady (or Jordan since she always called him by his first name) but had no choice but to leave when she did. Circumstances may have kept them apart for 4 years but fate puts them back together again and just in time. Their relationship was always special and her leaving the way she did gutted Grady and really changed him. Emery showing back up in his life made him see that he liked who he was so much more when he was around her and that he really wasn’t happy with who he had become. They have amazing chemistry and I love them together so much! Their story will leave a smile on your face.

I love college age sports romances. They are usually light and fun. J Nathan has taken this genre to a different level and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors to read. She totally did NOT disappoint with For Emery, the fourth book in the For You series. We first met Jordan Grady in For Finlay (No you don’t need to read the other books in the series, but really you should as they are all one-click worthy!) and to be honest he was a prick. So I was really interested to see how she would handle Jordan’s story and if I would be able to like him. For the first chapters when you learn about Jordan and Emery’s relationship as kids, J Nathan drew me right in and I was so invested in their story. For Emery had its fun dialogue and rom-com moments that made me smile and giggle. I especially loved the development of the characters and watching the relationship grow from kids and seeing how they were both affected by distance. For Emery had some real emotional moments that dealt with some deep issues and it was written so well. Boy, did I fall in love with Jordan as I watched him become such a good man as these challenges played out. Emery and Jordan face so much from their kids, but boy do they overcome and you can’t help falling in love with them and rooting for them. I honestly read this book in one sitting because I just needed to find out how they would find their HOA. For Emery is another great read from J Nathan. You won’t regret one-clicking! I sure didn’t.

Emery sought solace and comfort from Jordan at night when her stepfather’s yelling would scare her and she was unable to sleep. She would climb in his window so she could close her eyes and find some peace. Even though she was three years younger than him, they became fast friends. This went on for many years and during that time, they became best friends and did everything together. Emery attended all of his football games and was his biggest cheerleader. When she turned fifteen things changed; a teenage yearning replaced a light hearted friendship. Of course good things never last forever and without warning, Emery disappeared without saying goodbye to Jordan. He was devastated-his best friend was gone and it changed him, but not in a good way. Fortunately for Jordan, Alabama football beckoned, and off he went to college with memories of Emery tucked away in his broken heart. He became a different version of himself and he didn’t care how he treated people. He concentrated only on football and trusted no one. His heart still ached for Emery and he would never understand why she had left him. Until he saw her again. Why was she here and where had she been? Jordan needed to know, but wasn’t sure his heart could take it. “For Emery” is so much more than a sports romance. It touched my heart and made me really feel the deep connection that existed between Emery and Jordan. It is about friendship, understanding and being there when someone needed you the most. It was hard to put the book down and as I turned the pages, my heart beat faster as I followed their journey. This is the first book I have read by J.Nathan and I will definitely be reading more of her passionate stories.
