About the Author

Nicky Charles is an independent writer/publisher who became an author quite by accident. She always saw herself as a ‘reader not a writer’ and can thank—or blame, depending on the day—her friend/editor and fellow author, Jan Gordon, for the career she now finds herself immersed in. The tale goes something like this: In January of 2009, Nicky penned a fanfiction for an old TV series, “Scarecrow and Mrs. King”, and soon became ‘hooked’ on story-telling. She joined a fan-based group for the show and through there met Jan Gordon. It was an idle comment made by Jan during a review of Black Silk (Jan’s newly published book) that inspired Nicky to write her first original story. Over the course of the next two months, she hastily scribbled down a suspense-driven romance entitled Forever In Time and presented it to the world in August of 2009. Soon after, she wrote The Mating, a paranormal romance and followed it up with The Keeping and The Finding. The three stories formed a loose paranormal trilogy called The Law of the Lycans. Nicky continues to expand the Lycan series and has a long list of possible plots waiting in the wings. Nicky has recently retired from her day job and now hopes to concentrate more of her energy on her new passion of writing. When she writes, Nicky sees the story unfolding in her head like a movie and tries to include enough detail so that readers can ‘see’ the story just as she does. The sights, sounds, smells and sensations of a scene are almost as important to her as the actual plot. Creating main characters that are ‘real’ is also something she strives for. Nicky tries to make each character different, to give them an interesting backstory, to make their actions and feelings logical and to hopefully make the reader actually care what happens to the people in the story. Nicky lives in Canada and tries to stick to Canadian spelling and punctuation in her work, in support of her country. She is an avid supporter of animal shelters, nature conservancy, food banks and a variety of other charities. Currently she has two ‘inside’ cats and one official ‘outside’ cat though a number of strays seem to take up residence in her garden each year. When not writing, Nicky enjoys reading – though she often bemoans that she seldom has time for it any more. Her favourite authors are Elizabeth Peters, S.C. Stephen and Cherise Sinclair. She also enjoys spending time out in nature, gardening, taking day trips and eating dark chocolate. You can contact Nicky Charles at her website:

For the Good of All by Nicky Charles Law of the Lycons Book Seven Elijah Stone fits his name well. He has learned to put his emotions behind a stone mask. Yet, he will put his life in danger time and time again to save others. A year after returning from an intense mission, he finds himself at loose ends. And intrigued by a colorful witch at a bar.  Christina or Tina as she's known by, works at the Club Mystique. A place where all are welcome as long as they stay peaceful. When a new Lycon comes to town, she is drawn to him. Will she be able to break down his walls of stone? Nicky Charles has written a compelling story that pulls the reader in, again. Stone and Tina are opposites but as we all know...opposites attract. The story brings them over the border to rescue some Lycons and ends up with a much bigger problem. Not only do they have to deal with drug lords but they also discover a human trafficking ring. The reader first meets Tina in Sam Harper's story, Betrayed: The Road to Redemption. **Sexual content and language

This story was so worth the wait. Nicky Charles tells a wonderful well rounded story. I really like the main characters in this story. This is a intense read containing murder, destruction, violence, greed and mayhem. It touches on trafficking in several areas. These situations are frightening and true. Eli learned that what he thought was truth is not necessarily so. Tina found out that she is more powerful than she thought. As usual the author wrote an interesting hot read. Enjoy I did.

This book is full of adventure, loving and a broading the cast with the "others". A great story that caused me to cry, laugh and outraged. Keep them coming.

Loave the Law of Lycan series but this one just didn't do it for me. Didn't care much for the mercenary storyline.

I love every single one of Nicky Charles' books! I bought this book the very first day it was available on Nook; however I didn't start reading this one until I had re-read the first books in the series. I enjoyed re-reading them just as much as I enjoyed reading them the first time. This book was just as good and once I started reading it I could not put it down. For her next book I need to remember to start reading in the morning so I don't have to stop reading to go to sleep!

Nicky I'm giving this book four stars instead of five only because you had some editing errors and some slight repitition. Technically, it should be four and a half stars. Love Eli's story and finally Tina is showcased in a way that people can see her as her own person. I love this book as I've loved all the others. I once asked you on fb if you are a lycan because the details are so vivid that I completely believe that they exist. Awesome job! I can't wait to read more. I have an alert set on all my devices so I can get a message when you have a new book out. Thank you for filling my days and helping me to keep my sanity.

As always, a pretty good read from this author. Not too many surprises in the story though, which is why the 4 instead of 5 stars. But I really enjoy books that have a strong female character that isn't annoyingly obstinate. The character development is great as are the interactions and dialog between them.

Strong characters that are believable and likeable are a hallmark of Nicky's books. Timely topics are another. She is gifted in weaving a story that pulls you in on page one and keeps you enthralled until the end. I loved it!!

My favorite lycan series! And believe me, I've read a bunch. These have an actual story line to go along with the "intimate" scenes. I fell in love with the characters. I could see these being made into a movie. If that ever happens I will be the first in line to buy a ticket!
