Cindy Hastings travels to Paris with her mother and famous step-father with high hopes for finding the love she has been denied by her estranged husband. French rock star, Jean-Claude LeGrand seems to have it all—fame, good looks, and a fun personality, and he is interested in her. If she had known about his dark secrets, maybe she would have chosen another path. Quiet, handsome bookstore owner, Stuart Dumont tries to warn her, but she pays no heed, and seems hell-bent on self-destruction. This is the third book in the Forbidden Series family saga, in which we follow the dark twists and turns and hot romances of Taylor Allen and Larry Davis and their family members. Set primarily in Paris, we are taken on a sight-seeing journey of the City of Lights and into its shadowy crime-ridden underworld. Anyone who loves sizzling hot romance touched with suspense and a little darkness will not be able to put this book down.

A compelling dark criminal romance keeps the reader turning the pages. When Cindy Hastings flees an abusive marriage, she feels the kinky French rock star will offer her emotional injuries an oasis. To find love and happiness, she travels the streets of Paris and is confronted with the shadowy scum of Paris underworld. Will her search result in her own death? Steamy love scenes brings her closer to find the truth. I highly recommend this to any reader who wants to read a story with a well developed plot and complex characters.

Cindy Hastings visits Paris with her mother and step-father after a disastrous marriage. Hoping to heal and find new love, she decides to begin a relationship with a French singer, Jean-Claude LeGrand. Not as popular as his singer father but about to enter the American market, Jean-Claude has no shortage of women at this beck and call. And when Cindy's calls, he takes her to live with him at his apartment. Cindy soon finds out that Jean-Claude's background isn't squeaky clean. His sexual tastes are a bit much for her. Fifty Shades too much. At one point, she's afraid that he was drugging her with cough medicine. She roams Paris when he's supposedly at work and finds an English bookshop. She becomes friends with the owner, Stuart Dumont. He falls for her right away and shows her Paris. They spend more and more time together. Meanwhile, Jean-Claude owes money. He tries to video Cindy but he fails each time. He is threatened but his father refuses to give him any more money. They threaten to hurt his loved ones. As events spin out of control, Cindy grows up and finally takes responsibility for her actions. Does she leave Jean-Claude for Stuart? You will have to read the book to find out.

This is the third book in Ms. Ainsworthe's Forbidden Series and in my opinion, the best of the set. The writing is crisper. The plot more subtle. The intrigue more devious. It's a genuine page turner. You just can't let it go. If you enjoyed the first two books in the series, wait till you read this one. You'll love it!
