A ruse with an old flame grows into romance.
Delphinium “Fin” Bloom returns to her hometown with one goal: get the mayor—her former flame—to approve a location shoot in Good Hope. But business turns personal when the two become entangled in a fake engagement to comfort his ailing grandmother.
For Jeremy, the romantic façade hits close to his heart. Still reeling from the way things ended between Fin and him all those years ago, he sees the fake engagement as an opportunity to get her out of his system once and for all. But instead of laying the past to rest, Jeremy quickly discovers he can’t envision a life without her.
Now engaged to another man, Fin had long ago given up on the dream of a life with Jeremy. Why is it, then, that her fake engagement feels more genuine than her real one? As the sleepy days of summer come to a close in Good Hope, will Fin and Jeremy give love a second chance? Or will the revelation of a devastating secret put an end to the fairy tale?

Forever in Good Hope is the 4th book in the Good Hope series by Cindy Kirk. Good Hope is a town in Wisconsin that boasts small town charm and the delightful appeal of family, friends, romance, and holiday fun! The series is about 4 sisters, each journey to a happily ever after. I received an advanced reader's copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it. Delphinium (Fin) Bloom, is all about her LA lifestyle and working in book-to-screen adaptations. She returns home to Good Hope and is accompanied by her producer boyfriend, both on a mission to convince the town to let them film during the month of December, thus delaying all the Christmas festivities. In a town like GH, residents and guests thrive on the celebrations and events that run during the holidays, so convincing the board and the mayor, Jeremy Rakes, is anticipated as a difficult task. Speaking of Jeremy! The beloved mayor and Fin share a romantic history, so being reunited generates some feelings that have never really gone away. And oh is it a joy to read! I truly enjoy second chance romances, and we've heard snippets of Jeremy and Fin in previous books so their relationship always had me curious. There are many circumstances in GH that tug Fin's heart strings - her sister Ami's new baby arrival, her sister Prim's pregnancy announcement, Jeremy's grandmother's heart operation, and her "fake" engagement to Jeremy - all cause her to question her existence in LA, her "real" engagement to boyfriend Xander, and what really holds importance and depth in her life. She's afraid to feel too much, afraid to fall, afraid of many things. Oh, could I relate to that! Jeremy, for one, is determined to keep Fin in GH and in his life, determined to show her she belongs with him in the town they grew up in. Can Fin shed her old life and follow the road laid out for her, the road back to home? A heart warming and truly engaging story! Happy Reading!
Delphinium “Fin” Bloom returns to Good Hope with another man’s engagement ring on. Her mission is to convince her former beau Jeremy, now mayor, to approve the filming of a movie during Christmastime. But the two get entangled in lies when they fake an engagement to comfort his ailing grandmother. Unfortunately, this deception opens old wounds and memories that she has spent years trying to run away from. Can she trust Jeremy enough to open her heart and reveal a hidden truth? Ms. Kirk has done it again! She has created a romance masterpiece built on kind hearts, a sense of community, and a belief in happy endings. Fin’s story is so poignant and true to society today. I don’t want to give away too much but tears came to my eyes. I also loved how the community came together to make a special little girl’s dream come true. My favorite quote is, “Neighbors helping neighbors is the Good Hope way!” I wish that everyone could read this book and maybe start being neighbors again, and being kind to one another. I can’t wait to read the next Good Hope novel. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Great second chance romance! I've really enjoyed all the Good Hope books and this one is no exception. Delphinium “Fin” Bloom returns to Good Hope to try and convince the mayor to allow the company she works for to shoot on location in Good Hope. The fact that the mayor is Fin's high school sweetheart shouldn't be a problem. Right??? Through in the fact that they somehow get caught up in a fake engagement and the hilarity begins. This is a fantastic small town romance that had me swooning, smiling, and at times tearing up. Just an all around nice read. I highly recommend this one.
I received an ARC of Forever in Good Hope and am writing a fair and honest review. Forever in Good Hope is an emotionally intense story that will have you crying, laughing and falling in love with the characters and their story. This story is about how your first love and bestfriend can be the prince of your dreams if you give yourself a chance. Fin and Jeremy fell in love in high school but broke up when their family issues interfered. Now they find themselves pretending to be engaged for the sake of Jeremy's grandmother's health. Although Fin is engaged to another man, their fake engagement starts to feel more real as the days pass. Jeremy has always loved Fin and is now determined to make her see that he is the man for her.
The best way to sum up Forever in Good Hope is simple. The best thing I never knew I needed. Small town living, lovable characters and a hard to resist love story. Let's not forget Xander, the clueless slug and the beauty of second chance romance. From beginning to end, Ms. Kirk delights and satisfies with her sentimental walk down memory lane.
