Arrivato a Parigi a quarant'anni, Eugène Atget si è dedicato alla fotografia dopo un paio d'anni e ha raccolto una fantastica serie di immagini della Parigi che stava sparendo. Immagini piene di poesia e di nostalgia. Ci voleva un provinciale per sentire la poesia di quella città in piena trasformazione. Una poesia in bianco e nero. Un atto d'amore disperato.
