She loves the book and she loves the music but most of all she loves Freddie. Her puppet gets a cheerful hug on many occasions throughout the day. In the eyes of a 3 year old, Freddie is real and she listens to every last word he has to say. I thought in the beginning that she may be a bit too young to understand and appreciate Freddie¿s story, but I was wrong! Freddie has a way of speaking right to her and making music exciting. Freddie has made a lasting impression on my daughter and any frog that can win the heart of a child as quickly as Freddie has with my daughter, is a friend for life.

My students were sooo excited about Freddie the Frog that they almost overwhelmed me with their enthusiasm. Now that Freddie is a part of our class room [he sits on one of the speakers of my stereo] my kids - K, 1st, and 2nd, always ask for a Freddie story! I wish I had many more! Our classes have learned so much with the story about the Treble Clef Island, that we now play games using Freddie on my hand, up at the 'white board' in my room [Freddie likes to write in Green, of course!] It's amazing what one little puppet can do - especially one this cute - Let's keep the Freddie stories coming! What a great aide for teaching my little ones! Bobbi Barnes, Trenton, NJ Public Schools.

There were many reviews that listed this book as 'disappointing' due to the fact that this book does not list all the music notes. In my 13+ years of teaching music, however, I have not come across a book with such a motivating and 'easy' (as many of my students have said) way of teaching a few basic note reading skills. This is the first book in the series (the rest of the treble clef notes are introduced in the 3rd book - The Secret of Crater Island) and it does a good job of getting the children to fall in love with music and with a little frog named Freddie. By using Freddie in my classroom, students are now not only learning music, but loving music! To me, this is what it is all about.

Finally a fun way to teach notation to young students. I am a Primary Grade Music teacher (K,1,2) and have struggled with this for years. Thank you!

Freddie is a humorous, brave little frog who faces his fears and gains a friend along the way. This book provides an alternative for learning the names of line and space notes of the treble clef with mnemonic devices and a map from the story. Students in my music class beg to hear Freddie's story (they especially like his voice on the CD!). The humorous and melodramatic escapades of Freddie and his friend Eli the Elephant really help make the treble clef note names stick in the students' memories. I use flashcards and the puppet as well and my students never tire of Freddie or his adventures.

Freddy the Frog is an awesome way to teach the Treble Clef. I used it K-5. Even the 5th grade loved it!!! I look forward to the new book on the Bass Clef.

Great book and interesting story and CD. The story held the students interest throughout the presentation. I told the story with the Freddie the Frog puppet. The children not only enjoyed the story and learning experience but the music was great too!

I've used this book with my lower elementary classrooms. The excitement of the story captivates their attention. I do wish that all of the lines of the treble clef had been introduced to complete the staff!

This is a great book for anyone who loves music!! Learning about the lines and spaces on the treble clef staff occurs as the reader listens to Freddie's adventure. I HIGHLY recommend this book for every music teacher, piano teacher, and anyone who loves music!!

I have taught class room music and private music lessons for over 25 years, and Freddie the Frog is one of the best books to come out in a long time! The kids really like the characters of Freddie and Eli and they love Treble Clef Island. They ask for this book again and again. The illustrations are colorful and the CD is very creative. It is easy to make up games with this book - it has been a huge help for my students in remembering the lines and spaces of the treble clef.

Gosh, I LOVE this book. It is worth every penny! The Kindergartners just listened with their little mouths hanging open and the 2nd graders all went 'oooh' when they saw the treble clef and notes---such fun. What a great way to teach note names and the clef signs.

It's hard to find an instructional children's book that also contains a fantastic story. The audio CD adds a lot to the experience as well. The illustrations are brilliant and creative, utilizing vibrant colors and very humorous details. My daughter has become good buddies with Freddie and Eli, and I hope there will be more books from this author.

I love the story concept a name/place/character/home for each of the note names. The kids will never forget them! The kids absolutely love Freddie, too. What I do not like is that not all of the notes are covered. Some are skipped. I really wish all of the treble clef lines and spaces were a part of the story. The teacher has to fill in the blanks.
