This book takes you back to Whiskey Jack Ski resort, where you catch up with Rolf, Glory and the gang. Nate will stop at nothing to get the Resort up and running but when Ilke shows up with a huge "surprise" it seems that everything is about to be flipped on its head. Ilke comes back to Montana after a failure in Korea with and unexpected pregnancy and she just need to feel like she belongs even if its just for a moment. It seems everything is working against these two can the come together and work towards a common goal? It rings true in this book you never know what you had until you loose it, without giving much away there is love, loss, and heartache. You catch up with Glory and Rolf are planning their wedding and Marvin and Vivian are working together to keep the Lodge going, which was nice and super fun. As Nate and Ilke work through their struggles they are each faced with something that really gets to you and your heart. This book can have you laughing, crying and over all just sucked into the story. This story does have adult language and situations. This book was a fun love story and I did feel towards then end it did drag on a little but over all this book was so good and it was like catching up with friends. I really can't wait to read Trigg's story and catch up more from this fun bunch.

Reviewed by Natasha Jackson for Readers' Favorite What happens when you take an Olympic hopeful with dreams of gold medals and international stardom and throw in a shocking surprise and a gorgeous single dad with no interest in trying marriage again? What you get is Dani Collins’ contemporary romance novel, From the Top: Blue Spruce Lodge Book 2, the story of two people so set in their ways. Ilke is on the cusp of achieving her dreams; she has sacrificed a lot and worked hard to get to where she is in life and one night snatched it all away. And Nate, well, let’s just say he is the stuff book boyfriends are made of. He is determined to dedicate himself to being a good father after he was caught off guard when his marriage ended. So, these two had enough baggage to fill a ski resort, but author Dani Collins made the story compelling. What I really enjoyed was the fact that Ilke was career oriented but she wasn’t crazed. Sometimes authors go too far with the work-focused characters and I am happy to say that From the Top got it just right. And I liked that Ilke’s return was exactly the opposite of what Nate wanted at that moment; chaos. Dani Collins did a good job showing us their struggles and the gorgeous scenery was a nice break when those inner monologues got to be a little too long. The push and pull between Nate and Ilke was just right. They had baggage that made them both hesitant, but it felt real and not just manufactured for drama. I liked From the Top.

I totally enjoyed reading From the Top by Dani Collins, book two in The Blue Spruce Lodge series. Imagine being an Olympic athlete out to win the gold but have everything go wrong when you compete in Korea, only to discover you are pregnant from celebrating New Year’s Eve with an amazing man. That is the roller coaster Ilke is on when she pulls out of future training and competition, ending up in Haven, Montana, ready to confront the man who got in this situation. Single dad Nate already has a failed marriage causing him to avoid serious relationships. He and Ilke might be strangers but he is determined to be part of this child’s life. When a tragedy occurs, heartbreak brings them closer together forcing them both to re-examine their feelings and life goals. As Nate discovers he’s ready for a bigger family, Ilke hopes to find love and a home that she has been looking for her entire life. I really enjoyed reading this moving story. Ms. Collins is an outstanding storyteller and kept me interested in this story so that I had trouble putting it down. I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from Netgalley. This story is book 2 in the Blue Sprice Lodge series by Dani Collins and as always she has a well written and explosively sexy romance. After a very hot and explosive New Years Eve hookup Ilke Lindquist continues with her quest to win the Gold in Alpine Skiing until and unplanned pregnancy throws her world into utter chaos. She needs to tell Nate Hart, her hot sexy NYE hookup who already has a a son from a previous marriage and who avoids serious relationships that he is going to be a father again. Can these two who were only looking for a fling, find a way to make a workable relationship happen or when tragedy strikes will it just destroy the very fine edge of their budding relationship?

Ilke and Nate only spent a short time together, but it was memorable. When Ilke returns to the Whiskey Jack Ski Resort a few months later because she accidentally fell pregnant Nate is perplexed. Nate is working at the resort that is being restored to its former glory to be as close to his son as possible. He loves him dearly and likes being a dad, but he didn't think he'd become a father again and hardly knows Ilke. For Ilke her career as a professional skier always comes first, what will she do now that she is pregnant? Nate is loyal and hardworking and doing the right thing is important to him, but his heart has already been shattered once, will he be able to risk loving someone again, especially when this person is as complicated and independent as Ilke? Nate and Ilke slowly get to know each other better. There are decisions they have to make. However, something heartbreaking happens that will have a devastating effect on their relationship. Will Ilke and Nate be able to move on after everything they are being put through? Is their still new connection strong enough to handle all of the emotions that come their way and will they find happiness again after this awful tragedy? From the Top is a beautiful romantic story. Ilke is used to being on her own. She doesn't let anyone help her and doesn't want to depend on others in any way. This makes it difficult for people to get close to her. Nate is an exception though, she does let him in and somehow she gives him a chance, even though she's never done this before. Nate's previous relationship left him wary. He's still hurting because of his ex-wife's betrayal and spending time with a woman again is a big deal for him. It was interesting to see what these two very careful people would do when true love finds its way into their lives. Dani Collins has chosen such a wonderful setting for her story. Her vivid descriptions of the mountains and the resort itself are making it come to life in an incredible way. It was fun to read about the progress that's being made with the resort. There's always something unexpected going on and that makes fascinating reading. It was also great to read more about the main characters from On the Edge again. I loved the way Dani Collins continues their stories. From the Top is entertaining, emotional and sweet. I really enjoyed reading this heartwarming book.

This is a truly enjoyable read. There are a lot of characters but once you get all of them straight this adds to the story. They are a big loving group that makes the story really fun. Ilke Lundquist is a world class skier that suddenly finds her world imploding. Not only is she suddenly losing her races which of course means she's losing sponsors but she also finds herself alone and pregnant. A result of a one night stand. Now she finds herself on the way to Blue Spruce Lodge to let Nathanial Hart know he's going to be a father. Nate of course isn't happy but since Ilke really has no where else to go she decides to stay at Blue Spruce giving herself and Nate time to come up with a plan. And that's just the beginning of their funny, sexy, and emotional story. I definitely recommend this one.
