Gabriel's Revenge by J.T. Lewis

Working at a dig in South America, Gabriel Celtic's dreary existence is shattered by a one page telegram from back home, asking him for help on a murder... the murder of his friend!

Meeting a mysterious woman on the flight back, she seems to be trying unsuccessfully to drag him out of his dark mood. He is unnerved however, by the feeling that this "girl" seems just a little too familiar with his past.

Starting his investigation as soon as the wheels hit the tarmac, he soon finds help from an unexpected source... the mysterious woman from the plane!

Coming to his rescue in the nick of time, her competence and bravery are undeniably familiar.
Meanwhile the investigation into the diabolical murders of his friend and others will soon lead him on a journey that will end at a place that he had never expected... the darkest corners of the Catholic Church!

"J.T. Lewis' Gabriel Celtic series is a heart-pounding action/adventure that will leave you panting for more!"

JT Lewis has done it again! Gabriel's Revenge is the second in the series of Gabriel Celtic stories, and although the story easily stands on its own, the continuing story is a nice addition to his original novel. Starting off in South America, the story has Gabriel just putting in his time at an archaeological dig as he tries to hide from his past life. The emotions he is feeling for his now dead wife leave him mentally numb as he tries to overcome the tragedy of losing her. An unexpected telegram again rocks his existence however as he learns that his best friend has been murdered. Heeding the call to come back and help discover his murderer, Gabriel quickly packs for the arduous journey back to the states. Guilt haunts him on the trip however,as he takes the blame upon himself for Frank's death. Meeting a stranger at the airport before the plane is even off the ground, the girl does her best to try to drag him out of his funk, whether he wants her to or not. Arriving back home finds Gabriel immediately tackling the mystery, leading him on an adventure that he could have never envisioned. Gabriel's Revenge is a fast-paced action-packed adventure that will leave you breathless and wanting more. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down! I would definitely recommend this story to anyone that likes smooth storytelling coupled with an excellent story.

In this sequel to Murder! Too Close to Home, we find our hero investigator Gabriel Celtic down in South America on an archeological dig, in an emotionally suspended state. After his wife’s murder, he is not sure how to live on. When he gets a telegram to return home because his best friend and partner Frank, has been murdered. He hastily returns, and gets to work immediately. What he finds is a trail of murders leading all the way up to the top of the most sovereign of all organizations and an unlikely partner, who may be more than what she seems. J.T. Lewis has done it again!! He weaves together a multi-view story seamlessly and keeps the mystery pouring out at every crevice. Gabriel’s recovery is obvious throughout the story as at first we find him still picking up pieces of his shattered heart. But as the danger escalates, he finds that to survive, he has got to start living. Loved Gabriel! He is not the same man from Murder, a bit harder and fed up with the world. He does jump back in to his investigator get ups, like riding a bicycle, and finds more clues than anyone could in a minimal amount of time. This makes the perpetrator sweat, realizing he has met his match in Gabriel. Gabriel handles the attempts on his life as any professional would, escaping with skill and divine interventions alike. You fall in love with this super hero of sorts Gabriel Celtic! You will want more when it’s over, but you will enjoy the wild ride that J.T. Lewis has splayed out for you to the last drop. I received this ebook free from the author for an honest review. No compensation was received or ever requested

Reviewed by Shweta Shankar for Readers' Favorite J.T Lewis is back with another gripping mystery to tackle "Gabriel’s Revenge". When investigator Gabriel Celtic receives a one line telegram notifying him of the death of his former investigation partner and best friend, little does he know the power that he is up against when he accepts this case. This time, Celtic is not only out to bring the murderer to book but to avenge the death of his friend. With demons of his past coming back to haunt him and the sudden appearance of a mysterious woman in the most unexpected circumstances, will Gabriel Celtic’s quest for vengeance bring him closure? "Gabriel’s Revenge" is fast-paced right from the word go and the twists and turns make sure that you wouldn’t want to put the book down until you reach the last page. As I read on, I could experience Gabriel’s pain, angst, doubts and happiness just as I would my own. J.T. Lewis keeps up the pace with his high-octane writing and packs in a few surprises where least expected. As his keen mind begins to put together the pieces of this investigation, Celtic is led to the one place he never dreamed of that could hold the key to this horrific crime: the Catholic Church. Not without its share of eerie happenings, this investigation turns into a sinister game of hide and seek that is sure to make your heard pound. This book is certainly one that should not be missed.

Gabriel's Revenge, the sequel to Murder! Too Close To Home! blew my mind! Our hero, the gorgeous and esoteric Gabriel Celtic, has left his former life behind in an attempt to exorcise his broken heart. After a year on an archeological dig in South America, he is plunged back into his former life abruptly and unceremoniously. Regret and guilt fill him as he journeys back to the home he left more than a year ago. Along the way a surprise finds him and brings light back into his life. He arrives home to a full blown murder mystery that is close to his heart. On one hand, the action and adventure are tremendous and exciting. On the other is a look into the recondite soul of Gabriel Celtic. It will make you fall in love with him and sigh with wonderment. I highly recommend this book and give it a 5 of 5 stars.
